    Original SG-1 vs. Restored SG-1

Some people take issue with original SG-1 dieing in the past, leaving us with a second SG-1 at the end of the movie. Does it really matter? They are both the real SG-1.

    it's an outrage!
I'm an average viewer. As plain as they come. People make TV shows based on my demographic.

    Million's of ZPM's, ZPM's for free! Millions of ZPM's, ZPM's for me!

Why? How does restored SG-1 differ from original SG-1? Tell me how they are not the same.

If by original you mean 'our' SG-1, they didn't die, the only time you see 'our' SG-1 is at the end of the movie.

Our SG-1 is seen until Teal'c and Vala poof away followed by Jack's death. Our Sam and Cam are seen until they are killed by Jaffa in the alternate timeline. Our Cam is last seen in 1939 after he killed Ba'al and three Jaffa. Our SG-1 is seen again at the end of the movie. Both versions of SG-1 are the same right up until Vala's vanishing act.

That's what I'm going with. The same with Möbius; both times a previous SG-1 changed the timeline to create our SG-1; one time giving them a ZPM, the other time giving them a Cam in 1929 and a hole in side of the Achilles.

They're two completely separate groups of people, the SG-1 we see at the end of the movie is our SG-1, and that's the only time we see them.

                  They're not.

One SG-1 resides in a timeline where the Achilles made it intact to Boston.

Another SG-1 resides in a timeline where the Achilles still made it to Boston, but had a whole blown in the side of her and a crew with Cam onboard.

                  Thus, they're different SG-1s

You've explained differences between people living in the early 20th century. How, exactly, does this make restored SG-1 different from original SG-1? The SG-1 we see at the end of the movie is identical to the SG-1 we see at the beginning. Why do you disregard this fact?

Because it's not true. They're not the same, they can't be. The fact that there are two Mitchell's in that timeline should make that obvious, not to mention the fact that causality makes it impossible anyway.

                        Proove it.

Both Mitchells lived the same life right up to Ba'al's extraction.

                        Trivial differences.

Let's take Teal'c for example. To apply your our character method, we have our Teal'c at the beginning and end of the movie. Alternate Teal'c is in the alternate timeline, First Prime to Ba'al.

Daniel of the New Timeline can look back at the Achilles and note that it had a hole blown in the side of it. Daniel of the Original Timeline can't.

                          Thus, they're different.

                            Prove it.

Whether they're trivial or not makes no difference. There are differences there, and even if there weren't, even if they were both identical, they still wouldn't be the same people, they can't be.

Uh no. Using my method the only time we see out Teal'c is at the end of the movie, along with the rest of them.
