    Crossover movie if...

Would the producers consider an SG-1/Atlantis movie if they couldn't get enough actors back for a third SG-1 movie? I think a crossover would be a good compromise.

That would severly hurt SGA's production schedule if they get a S6

nah that would just be 2 many characters. . Would end up with very little screen time for the characters. Also i imagine if they do make a third movie the budget wouldn't be more than like $10 million so they probably can't afford that many characters factoring in all other costs.

yeah that's true and i heard that the 20th episode of atlantis season 5 might be a crossover to celebrate atlantis's 100th episode but i'm not sure if this is true

Stargate Continuum was only 7 million dollar budget and we see how well they did. I'm betting the 3rd movie if allowed will have a MUCH larger budget seeing the success of Stargate Continuum, it was such a great movie. I'm Praying the 3rd will get a theater release, then the budget will be MUCH higher..
            I'm gonna miss SG1..
Season 10, Simply amazing... Bring on the movies

            The ori are going down!!!

First off, it wouldn't hurt the schedule of Atlantis. It only took two weeks to film each SG-1 movie, so at worst, the Atlantis production becomes hectic for three weeks. If they can do "The Pegasus Project," they can do a crossover movie which would only be about an hour longer.

The movie wouldn't have too many characters. The idea is to do it if they can't get all of SG-1's main cast back. It would be half SG-1, half SG:A, not the full cast of both shows. Atlantis need not play a major role. It could appear briefly at the beginning, explaining why some of the show's characters are joining General O'Neill and SG-1 on a special mission.

Stargate isn't mainstream enough to get a movie. I told friends about the two SG-1 movies. They didn't even know what Stargate is.

SPOLIER ALERT! FROM ATLANTIS SEASONs 4 AND 5!

                Spoiler:
There is a subtle way you could have Atlantis involved in an SG1 story. Have SG1 require the assitance of a medical specialist in genetics and DNA manipulation. - That way you could include Dr Beckett! The scenes involving him could be written around any further appearances Mr McGillion makes on Atlantis, since Dr B has been making guest appearances since the characters resurection in Atlantis Season 4. This is further supported y the fact he can come and go, not just in story terms due to his improved health, but the fact Keller is the head medic on Atlantis.

The way it could work is if SG1 splits into two grouls (as in Ark of Truth) and Beckett is working with one of those groups, dealing with a medical / genetic problem. Equally one of the others, such as Woolsey or Sheppard could make a brief "view screen cameo appearance" as Beckett returns from Atlantis? That way their footage could be pre recorded, as part of the actor's standard Atlantis shooting schedule.

I do agree that any story involving both main casts would be impossible. On the audio comentary of "The Pegaus Project" (SG1, season 10) the producers comment what a headache it was getting all of the cast scheduled for the briefing room scene. - And that only involved three of Atlantis's lead characters!

Continuum is not out yet in the UK. - From reading the premise I am not sure how I will take to it, as it sounds a lot like Star Trek First Contact in basic plotline, but we will see.
Converting a human body into energy and sending it millions of light years through a wormhole. Bloody insanity!
Come on, how often do you get the chance to go to an alien planet?

I was a'ready on an alien planet!

You're missing the point... If only half of the SG-1 cast is available for a third movie, who exactly is Dr. Beckett replacing? The idea is to use SG:A characters in roles left vacant by unavailable SG-1 actors.

The LESS characters in the movie, the BETTER. This creates possiblity to develop particular characters much more. Personally I'm totally against Atlantis people in SG-1 movies...

The Less is better? If you apply that would mean no characters (old characters) is better... So you want a SG movie with complete new characters?

SG-1 is about a team and their base commander, not two or three people. Less it not better.

if what you say is true (and it's not) that means that they could make a movie with absolutly no characters and it would be the greatest movie ever! I think more characters is good because you get to see how the people in SG-1 interact with the characters in Atlantis which makes some funny moments and some serious and you get to learn about them too.

I could see maybe a giant war movie requiring the SHIPS from atlantis, thered be no way to physically move atlantis to the MW for a movie without stepping on SGAs toes. Ellis was already in AoT, it might be nice to see him and caldwell, maybe mckay and Sheppard recalled to frontline MW combat for a specific battle. I cant see them permantly being assigned to the mw. Be like Worf in first contact, he was on the defiant that was recalled to defend earth from a borg attack, afterwords he went back home to DS9.

I could see a crossover movie if they couldn't get all actors from SG1 to do an SG1 movie and/or all actors from Atlantis to do an Atlantis movie and they could only get some from each. As long as it wasn't at the expense of SGA, I'd like it. I liked Rising 1 & 2 because it had the mixed cast.
Steve, Bob and Todd. What chummy guys!
