Satellite pictures of the stargate

How did the satellite take pictures of active Stargate when it was buried under maybe 5 feet of ice and inside the cargo hold of the Achilles?

maybe they saw a ring of naquada but not anythin detailed.

ice is opaque, big hole in ship, wormhole emits light, light shines into ice, reflects/refracts.

They didn't have a picture of the Stargate. It was a picture of the Kawoosh coming out of the ship. So maybe, I'm guessing heat/energy signature picture? Showed up more obviously when it went into the ice.

Yup. They didn't see the gate just the activation of a big boom.
