...what about involving him again in the Franchise??? ....
okay a whole movie only about Jonas would not work because he is not that popular (?maybe, if not I'm sorry for all Jonas-fans)...but I would love to see him in future movies involved because it was so sad that after season 7 he was not even mentioned anymore....what do u think?

in the series, it was said, his planet was conquered by the ori.

joseph mallozzi said, in his mind, jonas is part of a resistance against the them...

I'd love to see Jonas again! :jonas: It would be wonderful to see him in future movies, IMO. :)

If tptb bring back him they'll lost a fan for sure, me. I have had enough of him in season 6!

I don't think that's going to happen, but I liked him, too.
I realize he was sort of a cross between Carter and Jackson, but he was different enough that it could have worked even after MS came back, and it would have been nice to have 4 team members in season 8.

I loved this scene from Metamorphosis when he throws Niirti's plan for them to rule the universe together right back in her face:

Well, I can only imagine what it would be like to have powers like that. What would I do? I guess the first thing I would do would be to free my friends and all those other people you have caged up down there. And then I would destroy you. Not necessarily in that order but you get the idea.

Priceless.

I loved Jonas. He was so interesting. I liked the story and development they set up for him - Prophecy was fantastic - but I don't see it happened. He was pretty miffed when Shanks decided he wanted back in. I'd love to see him back but honestly, can't see it.

I agree with you both, I don't see it happening either...mainly because I think they already have too many lead characters to deal with (:jack::sam::daniel::tealc::cameron::vala:) but it would be good to see him play some part. And VSS, I completely agree...at that point, with RDA's reduced time, it would've been great for Jonas to remain on the team and then form a four again in S8...but alas it wasn't to be. *sigh*

Definitely! That was such a brilliant line and I just wasn't expecting it from Jonas...quite like how I wasn't expecting that wonderful 'idiot everyday of the week' line from Sam in Foothold...like you said priceless. :)

I agree with all those who would love to see him back in some way, shape or form, even despite its unlikelihood. Even if he was given ten minutes of screen time, offering his character's fans proof that he's live and well, or whatever the case may have become, post-AoT is just another one of those 'important steps to solidifying' TPTB tend to stumble past.

Holy necrotopic, Batman. Dead horse, anyone? Come on, we've been going over this for YEARS now! He's not coming back. Let it go, folks.

Neither is Ford.
Neither is Weir.

If you actually read our posts, you'd see that most of us have let it go.
We're reminiscing. If we can't do that then every SG-1 thread will go dead, except for the movie threads.

Yeah, even though it would never actually happen, it would be nice to see Jonas again. Overall, I thought he was a good fill-in while Daniel was ascended.

I don't think it's necessary, first of all, how big can the team get without losing meaningful interactions?

Tptb want Movie #3 to bring Jack back as the star (which I'm ecstatic about).
Daniel, Carter & Teal'c are staples.
Mitchell will be there.
Vala will most likely be there too.

6 is enough!

I'd like to see Jonas on Atlantis. I believe that was the original idea. I think Jonas interacting with Shep, McKay, Ronon & Teyla would be very interesting. He'd be like Ford (eager, kind of green) only with a genius intellect and archaeological experience.

I've certainly long-since come to terms with things as they are. This isn't an issue of posting in an age-old concept thread; it's a vaguely new notion and there's still enough burning in the hearts of Jonas' fans to bring him up now and again.

As for his being 'green', Mallozzi's interpretation of where Jonas must have been as close to 'present day' in the franchise as possible, what with being a resistance member and such, plus his experience during his tenure on SG-1, would give me an indication that he'd be fairly seasoned. Not so much the 'Ford' type, though with all the Pegasus Galaxy's newfound fascinations, maybe it'd come out again.

It would've been cool to have him back. From what I've heard, they were going to keep CN on but they didn't have enough money for five leads at that point, so he had to go after MS came back. He did have a lot of potential though... and I agree, he's kinda like a cross between Sam and Daniel... perhaps a secondary plot line involving an accident with a time machine, and the revelation that he's their son...? ;) :p :)

Anyway, I think he'd've fitted in nicely with the Ori storyline and it would've given him a chance to brush up on his Ancient.

Continuum spoilers: So... is he dead? He wasn't even one of the cameos in Continuum... and there were a lot of old faces... sadly no Janet or Jacob either. Maybe they all could crop up in other films.

EDIT: he'd be great on Atlantis too... it would solve the 'having already too many on SG-1' crisis that would develop, storyline wise. It'd be like having a Daniel, somewhat, of their very own. They'd love that. :D

It would be cool if he was on Atlantis, him and McKay fighting over who can learn stuff faster with Jonas always winning and McKay calling him a cheater. Jonas really needs to get out more.

I'll freely admit, from time to time, I do miss Jonas. I'm glad we got MS back, but still, it would have been nice for TPTB to try and bring his character back from time to time past Season 7.

i think jonas was a really great character , innocent yet sharp. he would have gone well on atlantis i think thats the one thing the atlantis team is missing, a daniel- esque character, ive always thought so.

I think Jonas would fit as a series regular. But, I wouldn't want him to replace anyone currently on the team. He would just be an addition, like Vala was on SG-1.

If they had somehow fit Jonas into a later episode (like they did in season 7 after they left) then they most likely would had given us some closure on what happened to him. After they stopped that large naquadria vein from blowing up, you hear no more from Kelowna. (Or Langara, or whatever it's called...)

JONAS GONE BAD!

Id be down for Jonas's planet reverse engineering ori tech from when they were conquered and trying to conquer the galaxy. There is no better villian than a friend gone bad. If anyone was capable of R.E. ori tech its Jonas and his freak brain!

/hand device on jackson 'Kneel before me!'

Daniel took his job AND got his planet conquered and enslaved. I could see him being pissed and wanting to remove his BANE.

Daniel took his job

I got the feeling that Jonas only filled Daniel's position out of guilt, and strongly preferred returning home to aid his people rather than Earth.

Watch the last five minutes of 200, then tell me the writers want Jonas back.

To be fair, the last 5 minutes of 200 gives the impression that the writers would rather not have to deal with any actors at all.

I don't see why it would be such a sretch of the imagination to think that he could return for an appearance in a Stargate movie. Stargate SG-1 the series is over for good. It's not unthinkable to think that Jonas could appear. After all, other characters show up after long absences (i.e. Major Davis, etc.), so why not?

I think TPTB just don't realize how popular Jonas remains. For every 1 fan that says he/she will stop watching just because Jonas appears, there are probably 10-15 people who like Jonas and want to see him again.

I can so totally see that!

I would love to see Jonas again. I think maybe it would work in like Universe. The troubles with SG-1 have been outlined fairly well. I never thought of Jonas as a "replacement" for Daniel. I came in watching with season 6.

The trouble with seeing Jonas in Atlantis, is a lot of fans don't want SG-1 characters on Atlantis.

I respect your opinion, but I'm not really down with that idea.

Maybe it would be better if this scenario happened between Jack and Cam. Jack could be angry that Cam came in and replaced him at the SGC. They could do a real tribute to the Mission Impossible movie that way. ;)

While fighting the Ori incursion to Langara, Jonas was captured and brought to the island of misfit tv characters. For several months he pursued a relationship with Tasha Yar, but they broke up. Now he spends most of his time scheming with Lt. Ford and Aris Boch on a way to escape.

Jonas should show up to earth with a fleet Ori Ships and ready to share their wonders.

But

We talk them into going to the Pegasus galaxy, and helping us wipe the Wraith out of existence.

People still bring up Aris Boch as someone who should be brought back. Jonas is fresh as the morning dew compared to him. ;) However, I'd also say that we'd be more likely to see Aris than Jonas. I loved Jonas while we had him and was furious at his abrupt dismissal, but at this point I think too much time has passed. Of course, given that TPTB wouldn't bring him back anyway it's probably a moot point.

I miss Jonas :0( Season Six was my first season and I was royally pissed when he was just basically tossed aside when Daniel came back. I always liked Jonas more then Daniel :p

It's not very likely anymore but he would probably be the perfect candidate to bring over to 'Universe.' It leaves all the other main characters where they are to continue on for the movies, and then we have a familiar face for the new show.

I would love to see that. I miss Jonas so much.
