    DECEMBER 2004

    CHRISTMAS MARATHON: STARGATE SG-1 – SEASON SIX
    Begins Saturday, December 25 @ 9pm ET

    Season six of the popular sci-fi series finally comes to SPACE! To mark the occasion and the festive season, SPACE presents a special Stargate SG-1 – Season Six Christmas Marathon. All 22 episodes will air beginning Saturday, December 25 at 9pm ET. In this season, Corin Nemec (Parker Lewis Can’t Lose, The Stand) joins the cast as Jonas Quinn. The series also stars Richard Dean Anderson, Amanda Tapping and Christopher Judge.

    Season six will then join seasons one to five in the strip run of the series, which airs Monday to Friday at 8pm ET on SPACE. Season seven currently airs every Thursday at 10pm ET on SPACE.

    BATTLESTAR GALACTICA

    Battlestar Galactica: The Series will have its Canadian television premiere on SPACE on January 15 at 8pm ET. In preparation for the series launch, SPACE will air an encore presentation of the Battlestar Galactica miniseries, as well as SPACE’s original Behind the Scenes productions of the miniseries and the upcoming series.

    THE DEAD ZONE – SEASON THREE FINALE
    Saturday, December 4 @ 7pm ET

    As problems with his dead zone become life threatening, Johnny (Anthony Michael Hall) must decide if brain surgery is an option, knowing he will lose the psychic abilities that may help prevent Armageddon.

    And on New Years Day, SPACE will present a Dead Zone Viewer’s Choice Marathon on January 1, 2005, beginning at 10am ET.

    SPACE Premieres

    Hosted by internationally respected media education scholar Father John Pungente, SJ, Scanning the Movies offers an entertaining deconstruction of contemporary film.     A close-up look at the entertaining and quirky new series where Canadian comedian Steve Smith (The Red Green Show) takes a B-movie and, through the magic of editing and audio substitution, cuts the film down to a 30-minute television show, replacing the lead actor’s voice with his own.

    THE WHAT IF MAN: THE SCIENCE FICTIONAL LIFE OF PETER NICHOLS
    A SPACE Premiere – Saturday, December 25 @ 4pm ET
    A one-hour documentary that explores the complexity of science fiction and challenges the common misconception that it is simply about little green men and spaceships. Peter Nichols, an Australian anthologist, author and public speaker, reveals the profound impact the genre has had on the world: future science, social utopias, technological change and alternative realities.

    SPECIES MOVIE WEEKEND EXTRAVAGANZA
    Begins Friday, December 3 @ 10pm ET

    To celebrate the DVD release of Species III on December 7, SPACE will broadcast the Species trilogy beginning December 3 at 10pm ET. About dangerous half human/half alien women who are desperate to mate with humans, the films feature Canadian Natasha Henstridge.
