    Loop of Kon Garat

    Loop of Kon Garat

    I say we Re-Enter with a F-302 or a Puddle Jumper

Show how it done in the Hebridan Solour System

    TAKEN FROM GATEWORLD
The Loop consists of four distinct phases:

Stage One: Defense. In this stage, ships must navigate through a densely packed armada of propulsion-capable disabling drones, capable of firing bursts of plasma energy at ships. The objective is to avoid the fire of these weapons, as they severely drain the power systems of the shields. Once the shields are penetrated, a vessel can be disabled and is disqualified from the race. This first stage is very successful at weeding out many competitors from proceeding further.

Stage Two: Navigation. This stage takes ships through the Hebridan sun's chromosphere, causing intermittent failure in communication and navigation. The sun emits deadly levels of radiation, which can be partially repelled by lowering the deflector doors of windows and other outer barriers. If a ship becomes disabled in this layer, it is not long before the gravity well of the sun causes serious navigational issues.

Stage Three: Maneuverability. This stage of the race consists of billions of magnificent ice crystals, some the size of micro-fragments, and others the size of the Hebridian capital. The goal is simple -- prevent the destruction of your vessel. Easy maneuverability is a must in the stage of this course in order to avoid the gargantuan rocks that cause navigation difficulties and are quite lethal.

Stage Four: Speed. The last stage of the Loop is a dead sprint to the finish line. It comes down to the pilot with the most advanced and energized power source wired into his or her system to successfully reach the finish line before any other ship. As there are no rules, ships are allowed to buffet, and even fire upon, one another to achieve first place. (Advertisers suggest the use of Ion Pro especially for this stage of the race.)

For Wraith, hunger burns like a fire.

Tell me, Sheppard, if you found yourself burning alive, would you settle for just one drop of water ...

....... or would you take more?

The 302 would probably be a fail of epic proportions.

Unfortunatly I think its going to be a bit absent from galactic sports arena after Hebridan was conquered by the ORI.

I would love to see us reenter, A 302 wouldn't do to well as its unshielded so couldn't survive the weapons satalites and the chronosphere. A puddlejumper probably could though or maybe a 304 if its not to big. Maybe even an ORI fighter if we can get 1.
if it wasnt for Carters new plot shield we would be dead

I think our best bet is gonna be an al'kesh, modified with Asgard shields and the plasma beams.

:Thanks to us finding a stockpile of drone weapons, we have reverse-engineered them and created an organic version. We are finished with the testing and YOU will be our first target.
:Order evacuation of all unimportant personnel. Raise the shield.
:The drones are heading towards us.
          :Those drones look familiar...
          : SQUID?!?
We are sending eggs so you can make some squid/egg rolls after this. Enjoy!

            That wont happen.

The alkesh is big, bulky, slow and not very nimble. The Tel'tac would suit this fine. Maybe modified by the Tauri.

Pudle jumper with a naq generator, maybe replace the drive pods with somethign more powerful. Keep the cloak on shield permenently(i think cloakign isn't alowed anyways). use drones on the last strech.

i would enter a puddlejumper with the folowing modifications made to it:

a borrowed zpm would be the power source or 3 naqada generators
                  2 asgard shield generators(1 primary, 1 secondary)
the newest asgard sensors for stage 2
some sort of barrier to block the front window

the puddlejumper would use its asgard shields in phase one powered by the zpm so it has all the power it needs. then it can use its asgard sensors in phase 2 as well as the window barrier. then in phase 3 since the puddle jumper is partially controled by thought its responce time will be faster than any one else. and in phase 4 we will have all the power we need from the zpm to go as fast as we want and we could use the drones to take out the competition. and shepard of course would fly it. or oneill either one

Just enter a 304. If there are truly no rules, then it shouldn't be a size thing. Seriously, our ships are shown to accelerate relatively rapidly. The shields could probably easily handle any drones that got in the way and could just shove the ice crystals out of the way. If they use a solar slingshot plotted from the get-go to take maximum advantage of the gravity, then they could gain some serious speed to just blast through the ice!

And after winning we would start transporting goods for them ?
That`s the prize, a contract to become a cargo ship...

                        take the oddy.

" sir the drones are coming at us"
                        * several BANGS are heard*
" they just exploded on our shields. they are down to 90%.

                        stage 3:

                        " entering asteroid belt"

                        "use asgard beams and missiles"
"sir we are travelling through a gravel field"

                        or
                        " jump past it"

And after that, the oddy would be a cargo ship, and we would loose our best ship ? =D

Was that the prize being a Cargo ship I thought it was deep space exploration or something plus we can always just decline and take a couple of Ion drives or something else

But why not just use a Tel'tac with a few Asgard upgrades and maybe a few ancinet ones as well

                              Very bad idea.

The Loop of Kon Garat isn't just entertainment. It's a bid for a starship-building contract for the Tech Con corporation. Which means that any technology employed in the winning ship will have to be made available to Tech Con. By entering a ship into the competition, Earth would commit itself to producing ships of the same kind as the winner and with all the same technology for the Hebridians.

Therefore, Earth cannot introduce a Puddle Jumper into the race. Aside from the fact that it's not a cargo ship and is not suitable for galactic exploration (which is the purpose of the competition), and aside from its poor chances of winning (no shields, as far as I recall, a fragile hull, no energy weapons, a very limited supply of drones, and it's not exactly built for racing speed)- aside from all that, the Tau'ri simply don't know how to build them yet. Hell, they don't know how to build drones yet.

A 302 would probably win the race pretty easily... the question is how wise it would be for Earth to disclose to the Hebridians all those Asgard toys on which Earth's security is entirely dependent. Not to mention that Earth currently lacks the capabilities of mass-producing 302s in sufficient quantities to export them. They can barely keep up with the basic security-dictated demand.
If Algeria introduced a resolution declaring that the earth was flat and that Israel had flattened it, it would pass by a vote of 164 to 13 with 26 abstentions.- Abba Eban.
