Star Wars (the older ones)- The Fith Element
- Predator
- Aliens (the second one, the first was more horror, the second more war and the ones after a mis mash)
- Pitch Black
- Blade Runner (cult classic, so may not be to your taste)
So many others, let me think
- I-Robot is a good one.
Joseph Mallozzi -"In the meantime, I'm into season 5 of OZ (where the show takes an unfortunate hairpin turn into "the not so wonderful world of fantasy")"
^^^ Kinda sounds like seasons 9 and 10 of SG-1 to me. Thor, ya got Aspirin?
AGateFan has officially Gone Fishin (with Jack, Sam, Daniel, Teal'c) and is hoping Atlantis does not take that same hairpin turn.

That long list and no mention of Silent Running or Spaceballs!
Hmm, some favourites:
Dark City
The Matrix
Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back
Children of Men
Gattaca
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Alien/Aliens
Terminator 2
Serenity
Star Trek: First Contact
Blade Runner
Contact
Galaxy Quest
Invasion of the Bodysnatchers (1978 version)
And avoid Starship Troopers at all cost. Dreadful movie.

I am Legend-- It was better then Omega man which was the last movie made from the book.
The Day After Tomorrow"Embress your life, find what it is that you love, and pursue it with all your soul. For if you do not, when you come to die, you will find that you have not lived."
A character from the novel "Chindi" by Jack McDevitt
Remember always that you not only have the right to be an individual, you have an obligation to be one.
'Eleanor Roosevelt'
Individuality is freedom lived.

Well, it's certainly not epic greatness or anything. It's popcorn fare
I'm going to have to disagree with this entire post. 'I Am Legend' was garbage, 'The Omega Man' was far better. And I thought 'Day After Tomorrow' sucked too.
Loved "The Day After Tomorrow" that movie was actually scary! Not necessarily the suspense sequences themselves, but the whole concept of it.
