One thing i noticed that didnt seem that realistic to me at least, was that when the SG teams went offworld, they are all wearing different headgear. Some are wearing berets, some kevlar helmets, some touques, etc.
I dont know about the american army, but isnt everyone supposed to wear the same uniform, as the army is supposed to be very strict with conformity.

Just to clarify one little thing, the SGC is run by the Air Force, not the Army.

They haven't gone offworld in berets since the movie. Kevlar helmets were worn in lots of first season episodes, but one would guess that the actors got really rather sick of it, so they've now gotten down to soft covers.

Which is a whole other debate, but at any rate, both he boonie/jungle hat that Daniel favors and the patrol/combat hat that Carter favors are standard issue and nothing wrong with mixing matching. O'Neill's likes a non-standard hat, but he's special.

So how long do we think till Major Clanger discovers another headgear thread?
