Finally, in response to those complaining about an uneven balance in the types of stories being told this year - like last year, everyone will be getting an episode. The reason I haven’t discussed the Sheppard story is because, unlike Ronon, McKay, and Teyla, his story falls in the back half of the season. Ronon has Broken Ties. Teyla has The Queen. McKay has The Shrine. And Sheppard will have CSI: Atlantis (and possibly Hexed if we can make it work). Otherwise, the front half offers up some great team-episodes as well as episodes which go a long way toward cementing the bonds of friendship between our various players (Teyla and McKay in Search and Rescue, Ronon and Sheppard in Search and Rescue, Ronon and the rest of the team - but Sheppard in particular - in Broken Ties, McKay and the rest of the team - but Sheppard in particular - in The Shrine, Ronon and McKay in Tracker are a few that immediately come to mind).

Hehehe...so yeah, again, obviously not the real title, but there you go.

And yeah, this was totally alluded to in the spoiler poem with the Sheppard and corpse line.

What special case happen on Atlantis?

- Zelenka brought some pigeons to the city illegally, because is the fan of Hitchcook.
- Ronon lost his dreads while he was sleeping.
- McKay discovered a new way to get energy in Atlantis. He will act like as an employment of Monster Inc. on different planets.

They should have someone from one of the CSIs on the show, if this is the type of story they're gonna do.

As to who would be sleeping with who...

Sheppard and Todd. The unresolved sexual tension that's occurred every time they've been together is quite... noticeable.

CUT! No no no! Let's redo that scene....

Camera pans over grass, then zooms up close to dead wraith, then zips over to dessicated husk of a corpse. Extreme closeup of gorily dead face. A hand comes into view. Camera zooms back to KELLER.

KELLER
Looks like he could have been fed on, but the Wraith has no wounds.
(glances at dead human and pats head)
Poor baby.*

Camera then pans from ground up - to medium shot - on COL. SHEPPARD, who, with one hand on hip in a stylized pose, whips out sunglasses, does a slow gaze across the empty meadow.

SHEPPARD
(very dry tone)
Looks like he missed his breakfast.

Then, screen bursts into shot of the jumper zipping across open space, dodging Dart missiles, while the latest THE WHO song blares in the background.

(Of course you realize the acquisition of whatever WHO song they can get totally depletes their budget for the show, hence they find themselves filming the entire episodes in Joe Mallozzi's background in short video bursts - as JM will use his camera - and his dogs will double as evil alien creatures (they'll dump Cool Whip on the dogs to imitate alien rabies).

* Had to put that in as the coroner on MIAMI is always saying that...

Although he didn't outright deny it, JM did seem to quash the idea of it being a Replicator storyline.

GW: Episode one-hundred is going to be coming up at the end of the season.

CB: Yeah, it's going to be a good one.

GW: We were talking with Martin. That it's a rare case where the milestone episode is the last episode, so it has to be doubly fantastic.

CB: It's a little like SG-1 with the one-hundredth, "Wormhole X-treme," and then the two-hundredth where it was done more for laughs. This is going to be more of a spectacular. This one's going to be huge. A lot of fun. A lot of exciting ... That was one that the idea came up when I wasn't [here], I was on the picket line. When I came back I said "What are we doing?" and they pitched it to me and I was like "Oh, that is cool!" Cause Robert, I think, is doing nineteen. And nineteen will set up twenty. So there will be like -- not really a two-parter -- but one sets up the other.

Joe Flanigan: [...] If I’m not mistaken - and you really should talk to the experts, who are the writers and producers, on the issue - they say on our hundredth episode we’re going to Vegas. And I think that if we’re in Vegas it’s because there’s aliens there, right? What better way to spend a weekend in Vegas? Killing aliens.

Question: That’s the season finale for the year, right?

Joe Flanigan: It is the season finale, too.

CinemaSpy: Vegas? Now, practically, how do you do that?

Joe Flanigan: Well, you’ve got to walk away from the blackjack table. Save the galaxy.

CinemaSpy: No, shooting the thing.

Joe Flanigan: Shooting Replicators in Las Vegas?

CinemaSpy: Are they going to send second unit down there to shoot sequences?

Joe Flanigan: Why can’t we shoot main [unit]?

CinemaSpy: Really? Actually go to Vegas?

Joe Flanigan: Sure. We’re going to Vegas, man. Actually, Jason and I were all excited and high-fiving, “We’re going to kill aliens in Vegas.” And then he found out that he wasn’t in the sequences.

CinemaSpy: So what happens there won’t stay there in this case.

Joe Flanigan: I think we’re going to end the season there. I think the last four days of shooting will be us there.

CinemaSpy: Then the CSI guys will move in.

Joe Flanigan: I think there should be a crossover.

Well, this is an interesting time of year. All the scripts have been written so we know where the season and story arcs are going, and there's no more pitching or spinning to be done. Paul is collecting notes on the final episode of the season, entitled "Enemy at the Gate". Joe is editing episode 515 "Remnants", Alan's episode 517 "Infection" is shooting, there's a day 2 mix of episode 509 "Tracker" to watch, and we've been casting and prepping for episode 518 "Identity" and episode 519 "Vegas". But for the script coordinator (me!), much of the work on prepping scripts has already been done. So I'm taking the opportunity to help coordinate some of the aspects of the Vegas shoot, which will be heavy on legal clearance issues.

Later, in the same motel, the manager lets Sheppard into the room the Wraith had been in. There is a desiccated body on the floor! Before the manager witnesses more, Sheppard declares the room a crime scene and asks the man to leave.

And he's discovered music and likes it very much, that's why he plays it so loudly?

Or he just wants to lure the man to his door...

Maybe Rodney plays a corpse? :D

But in meanwhile, we got this ep to look forward to, and it looks awesome.

As was 5x06 and wft are MGM doing?

Joe said if the first movie was successful, there'll be more SGA movies, but I'm a bit worried about having it on telly first, meaning technically the USA won't have to buy it any more, and so the movie won't sell, it'll be considered a bad idea, and the funds go into SGU.

On the other hand, if they can make movies with good plots, they can at least take their time now, with 1.5 hour movies, no rushing, like some say the eps are,...

But let's hope they'll find many more worthy plots to make into movies, and most importantly, that the actors are willing to make them. Mallozzi might focus on movies now?

cba to read all 10 pages so sorry if someone has already mentioned this but I think the Wraith will be Todd and will be listening to Kiss. Why? Because "Ace" is what the make-up team call Todd and it's for the lead guitarist of Kiss, Ace Frehley.

CH: These human beings, they need names. They have no idea what our names truly are. We'll never tell them. What we call him, actually, in the makeup trailer is Ace. It's something that I mentioned once before in another interview. The character is an homage to a space rock'n'roller. The space rock'n'roller -- there was a band, not terribly well known band, it doesn't have a lot of fans -- called Kiss.

GW: Yes!

CH: The lead guitarist, his name is Ace Frehley, and he's the space guy. He's the rock'n'roll space guy. That's his whole entity in the band. He loves Stargate Atlantis and is apparently a big fan of the Wraith. So this character was an homage to Ace. The Wraith have crazy tattoos, and this guy has got Ace Frehley tattoos. So he's known in the inner sanctum as Ace Wraith.

Yes, that's one! And there was a plot line about Jesus and a bowl that went nowhere and was never resolved. And at the end, all the zombie ghosts in the "graveyard" on stage 6 got up and danced to thriller, except they couldn't get the rights to thriller, so they ballroom danced instead.

GW: [Laughter] When the show wraps up in January, will McKay have a happy ending?

DH: [Laughter] I have to confess that I actually haven't read the last episode yet. I'm afraid I've been a little overwhelmed with line-learning! I've just read "Vegas," which is really interesting -- and an absolute departure. It's really one of those ones where, if you are flicking channels it's going to take you a little while to figure out that this is Atlantis.

GW: Are you going to go down to Vegas with those guys?

DH: I don't think that I go down to Vegas, no. I do a lot of talking and it's all inside. So my hunch is I'm probably not going to go to Vegas. In fact, I'm pretty sure it's just Joe.

Now, on the plus side, by not going to Vegas it means that I'm wrapping almost three weeks earlier than Joe is. I think I'll call him on a daily basis and tell him how much fun I'm having.

GW: Good, good! That's important!

DH: It is. Or tell him what I had for lunch. He loves that, too.
