But how come when we're watching the fight scene near the beginning of the show, that we see Cloud 9? wtf?

Its the scene where Anders says, "Celix, theres a raider on you" as the raider is coming up behind Celix, and Anders is trying to shoot but he can't.

I think you may be confusing either the Astral Queen or the Botanical Cruiser for the Cloud 9. I went through and rewatched the battle scenes- and those ships are most similar to the former Cloud 9.

Nope. We see the Space Park take a few hits, a few cargo haulers, Colonial One, several mining ships, a flattop, the Astral Queen, and finally the Botanical Cruiser when Anders pulls behind a Raider trailing Ceelix.

No Cloud 9.

cloud 9 was destroyed by a nuke over new caprica at the end of season 2 taking 2.000 or so people with it.

the ship you are seeing is the ship that the fleet uses to grow food similar to a greenhouse

I can't believe how gorgeous the space battles are now. Compare the 2nd and 3rd pic to the 1st pic- there's so much detail in the ships, so many different ships in the picture, wow.

I hope they didn't blow their budget on that episode.

This is the last season, so I´m sure they decided to "Go with a Bang!" and pull all the stops, including the FX budget.
