    Now That's A Flipping Replicator!!!!!

    *spoilers for Ark of Truth*

    Spoiler:

i loved the whole Replicator meets Superman 3 thing...

and then the T-1000 esque Repli-skeletor...

    flipping awesome!

it was, for me, unexpected to see replicators when that one was created... so it was cool... then it got old real quick... then Repli-IOA showed up... and it was cool again...

i'm not going to critique the film here... but I must say:

SGA, eat your heart out... only SG-1 knows how to do Replicators!

Colonel Jack O'Neill: So what's your impression of Alar?
Teal'c: That he is concealing something.
    Colonel Jack O'Neill: Like what?
Teal'c: I am unsure. He is concealing it.

Really? I thought the entire replicator fight scene in the movie was horrible.

The replicator angle was tons of fun.

I don't know if I exactly agree...the replicator seemed ugly and slapped together, so from a aesthetics point of view I think the Asurans are creepier. However, the AOT replicator seemed more realistic, so I'll give it that.

I liked it but I thought that when the repli-skeletor came after Cam, he should have said something like. "Aww man, I've seen this movie!" or something along those lines (Terminator 1 reference). I know it would have been cheesy but it is definitely something that would come out of Mitchell's mouth!

I'm getting sick to death with Replicators. They should have never had them in Atlantis even though I agree that they needed a different enemy in Pegasus about the same time they were introduced. In Dominion they killed Ba'al and Adria, making sure to mention it might have been a wash and they could show up later again. I would have liked to see the bad IOA dude with a Ba'al that Mitchell could have kicked around. NID/Trust was infiltrated by the Goa'uld in season 6 I think.

It wasnt great, I would have prefered they not fall back to using replicators again, but they had some time to kill and replicators have done well for them in the past.

Also if anyone tries to say why didn't they just make a human form replictor? Simple, they need netronium, which is not on the ship and they were hard wired in Merrick in an attempt to learn the shut down code.

I've been wondering for a long time now when TPTB were actually going to do this one.

My sister actually made a remark about zombies a few moments before the replizombie came lurching onto the screen.

i'm not going to buy that it was a time filler...

they could have easily have had SG-1 split up on the surface and have Daniel and Vala and Tomin go in search of the Ark while everyone else ends up in a ground battle with Priors...

                    the replicators storyline made sense...

the IOA - SGC's bosses - wanted to ensure that the ori would not get to earth... so they did what they always do: make a stupid decision... in fact given that the IOA is part of the SG universe it was a very logical storyline to include...

while i do not much like the replicators in Atlantis... and got tired of them after a while in SG-1... i found myself to be surprisingly satisfied with them in AoT... because 1. i wasn't expecting them, 2. they did some cool stuff, and 3. it actually made sense to include them...

now, if they show up in Continuum, then i'll be pissed...

I gotta say... the bug-on-the-back was pretty cool, and a welcome change from the typical replicator M.O. of search and destroy

That was pretty gross having them burrow into a dude and controll him, lol. Good to see the old school replicators again. I think they lost something when they went human form.

Im glad that replicators are still around, they are a staple of stargate as a franchise. They will always reappear in some form, and always be dangerous.

my only hope is that they are NOT in Continuum...

Continuum should be about the Goa'uld and the goa'uld only...

Yeah, I know that. So from a cool bad guy perspective, he didn't look impressive—that was my point.

Most original thing I have seen in Stargate since the replicators were introduced. What a way to re-invent something!
