10,000 B.C. Part Fantasy, Fact
Roland Emmerich, director of the upcoming historical fantasy film 10,000 B.C., told an audience at WonderCon that the movie is based in part on theories that the pyramids were built not by the Egyptians, but by another, lost civilization.

Emmerich denied rumors that the film touches on his previous SF movie Stargate or on the Chariots of the Gods books, but rather took off from Fingerprints of God by Robert Gange: "theories that the pyramids were not build by the Egyptians, but by a lost civilization around 10,000 B.C.," Emmerich said.
