I'm sure we're all dying to know what happens. Does the Midway space station survive?

Vala,

No, it goes boom. :(

Okay folks.. so I very much enjoyed the episode. Overall it was very good, although I do have a few issues with it, but those issues tend to be with the series as a whole lately.

Was quite enjoyable, I'd rate it about an 8 out of 10.

And that my Stargate friends, is all I'll say. Of course, the only crappy thing is now I have nothing to look forward to on Friday night!!

Thanks. That is very disappointing though. How, the Wraith do it, a self destruct or what exactly?

What else happend in the episode?

Thanks,

Thanks,
Vala,

I haven't seen it but it doesn't disappoint me. For one it makes it harder to get reinforcements from Earth or to make repairs for ships. Also with the Bridge in place it can easily be rebuilt.

WARNING - lots o spoilers below:

Starts with Teyla describing her interview with the new IOA guy Coolidge. He seemed perturbed by her pregnancy but passes her because he thinks she'll leave the team after the baby. Shep says of course you won't, and she gives a maybe/maybe not look.

Teal'c arrives to help Ronon w/his interview but he claims he doesn't need help. Teal'c does a great job of goading Ronon with sample interview questions into losing his temper. They have a sparring match with everyone betting but Carter stops it. There's no winner, though Ronon does break Teal'c's stick near the end.

Teal'c and Ronon travel to Midway together and have to spend 24 hours in quarantine. Dr Lee and Kavanaugh are there too.

Meanwhile the Wraith are on the planet with the last gate in the chain on the Pegasus side. They tap into the network and send forces to Midway. It's later revealed that the Wraith leader (previously unknown) learned the info on how to from Todd. I got the impression he either forced it out of Todd or got it in a sneaky way - not with Todd's cooperation.

Lee locks them out of the Milky Way gate. All the guards are killed along with a redshirt scientist. Kavanaugh faints before he can be questioned. The Wraith break Lee's code and send a device to the SGC that stuns everyone (inc. Walter!) and then send troops through. Teal'c and Ronon fight their way to the gateroom and follow them through to the SGC.

Ronon and Teal'c battle the Wraith and find Coolidge but are separated. Coolidge wants to set the self destruct but Ronon ignores him and goes to help Teal'c who's alone and outnumbered. A Wraith starts to feed on Teal'c but Ronon kills it. It was only a few seconds so I don't think poor Teal'c lost any more years - they didn't say anything about that anyhow.

Atlantis figures out what's happening when they lose contact w/Midway. Shep, McKay and Marines go to Midway by diverting to another gate near the end of the chain. Shep and the Marines battle the Wraith while McKay and Lee try to shut down the Milky Way gate. Kavanaugh ignores McKay and does something that sets off the Midway self-destruct.

Shep orders them to vent the atmosphere in all but the control room even though he's still outside. (Most of the Marines have been killed by the Wraith.) When they refill the atmosphere, McKay, Lee and Kavanaugh head for the puddlejumper. They find Shep alive in a space suit. (My one quibble was how was it easier to get in the spacesuit than the airlock? But it was a cool moment anyway.) The puddlejumper launches just in time and the Midway station blows up.

Ronon passes his interview with flying colors and one of the big ships (blanking on the name) goes to the Midway location and picks up the puddlejumper. Very funny end scene where Ronon finds Shep locked alone in the cockpit with headphones to avoid the annoying scientists.

Kavanaugh lives ? Good god I hate that guy. Though I kind of do agree with him on blowing up the Midway Station. If it can happen once & the Wraith actually gets to the SGC once then they can do it again. It probably is to dangerous to have something like that around when enemies would be able to use it. Although I still hate Kavanaugh

Is there some shep whump *she asks hopeful*

And yes, still I have no shame. ;)

What would you rate it as?

I loved it... 9/10.

as to the Shep Whump question
yes, when he is suffocating due to the lack of atmosphere, and loosing consciousness, he is stumbling to safety (you assume) only to be tackled from behind by the boss-wraith. Wraith pummels him until our strapping hero pulls out his side arm and knocks a few holes in to our boss-wraith. sheppy then gets up, only to collapse, gasping for air like a fish out of water, and slowly tries to slide his way to some semblance of safety. and there are a few very team whump moments when Rodney is told to vent the atmosphere then thinks Shep is dead.

also, the Teal'c/Ronan fight
excellent. I'd rate it as epic. sheppy is taking bets, and there is this cute part where he has a wad of cash in different currency, and he looks at chuck's wad and starts changing out the currency. He grabs some Yen and maybe some Euro? and hands Chuck the "undesirable" currency. Also kind of cute is the school boy way he reacts when Carter breaks it up.
At the end there is a cute Ronan/Shep moment. Shep is sitting in the cockpit, headset on, music turned up. He didn't hear the hail. Ronan goes to wake him, Shep keeps batting him away. Ronan even, I think pulls on his nose or something and shep finally jumps awake. Shouts, THANK GOD! I almost shot myself with a stunner to get away from those guys. oh, and Cavanagh faints! hahaha!

Hope this answers your question Pegasus!

What an amazing episode! Very cool. Thanks for the info everyone. So how do Ronon and Teal'c take out all the Wraith in the SGC exactly? Any hints during the episode that the Midway space station would be rebuilt? And didn't the dialing screens in "Adrift" indicate that there's an iris on the gates in the Midway space station or was that forgotten about?

Fantastic episode. "Midway" and "BAMSR" are easily the best of the season so far. Teal'c and Ronon are everything I'd hoped.

It's nice to have another face to go with the I.O.A. in Mr. Coolidge.

The "previously on" is McKay's extended explanation of the Gate Bridge from "The Return, Part 1," but with one added line of dialogue that wasn't in that episode: McKay states that the system is completely secure, so there is no need for gate shields or irises. Heh ... yeah. ;)

Kavanagh was as infuriating as ever, but really Lee and McKay should have taken a second to respond to his suggestion before he turned around and accidentally blew up the station. They should have known he'd turn around and doing such a very Kavanagh thing.

Ronon's final interaction with Sheppard was awesome. Really, finally shows that the two have become great friends.

Poor Midway ... we hardly knew ye. Poor, poor Midway ...

9/10

I wouldn't say that. There's a lot of shooting, but the Teal'c and Ronon interaction was good character stuff, and there was a fair amount of John and Rodney. Poor Teyla doesn't get much, but in this case, it was probably because Rachel looked like she shouldn't have been on her feet much. There was stuff for the John/Rodney and the John/Ronon folks in there too; I was pretty happy.

Here's a bright spot for the John/Rodney shippers: Rodney calls Sheppard "John" again. Twice.

Brendan Penny is listed in the opening credits. I guess he's the Wraith who works on the gate and that Scott Heindl plays the Wraith leader, but I'm not sure.

That makes sense - they say got the info on Midway from Todd, so they are the same Wraith from Spoils of War. I didn't make the connection.

Please, I dont' want a bad news

Teal'c is fine - he doesn't even seem to lose any years when the Wraith feeds on him. Ronon rescues him but it doesn't make Teal'c look weak. Teal'c was fighting a bunch of Wraith by himself and was just overwhelmed.

Word is Todd hacked into McKay's computer while Todd was on Atlantis.

Todd kind of made it look like he wanted to 'save the Wraith' by coming to the Lanteans to rewrite the Replicator program, but all he was thinking about was those ZPM's... He always thinks way ahead, and the Lanteans won't even get it till it's too late. Who knows what he's been going through then. Maybe he already knows more about Atlantis than the team, lol!

Here's a bright spot for the John/Rodney shippers: Rodney calls Sheppard "John" again. Twice.Hee, we wait three seasons and nothing then Rodney says it 7 times in season 4! *not that I am counting* :P

There was a angsty-like John/Teyla moment. He was probably worried she would have the baby right there! :P:D

Exactly. He probably got all of the intel. he could while there. I would expect him too, being the enemy and all. Just like I would expect our guys to do that when they're in enemy hands.

Given that the 24-hour quarantine would have been too late for Jeannie, I think they gated directly from Atlantis. Todd's clearly a believer in the "knowledge is power" theory, though, so I can easily believe he'd hacked into Rodney's system just 'cause.

Must not click the button....

what i'm thinking happened was some one who does not watch the show (cause let's face it, if they did, they'd come in early to release it, not release the next episode 4 days late) came into work at iTunes, not knowing that Trio was already released, and uploaded the next one thinking they were uploading Trio late.

Three, actually. There was the early release of "Doppleganger", and then the 6-days-late release of "Quarantine", and now this. Overall, when they're good, it's great--up in about 3 hours after showing on the west coast--but when they mess it up, it's really, really annoying.

I am a graphic designer by trade. Things like that jump out at me. When you are trying to put a picture of a sofa that was taken in a warehouse and put it in a nice fancy empty room, and make it look like it was taken IN that empty room, you learn to notice when something looks wrong and could give the game away.

Like that UFO picture. Total Fake.

I didn't see it as CG heavy at all. Lots of shooting with various weapons, which would require CG, but it isn't like BAMSR or anything like that. No ship battles.

Now here is the trick. Can you pick which two are the originals?

For those who want to know, they are the left most two. If you see the inner legs of the right two, they are missing the lumps and bumps in the leather pants, and in some points are too thinly cut.

Well, I didn´t believe I will say that about any S4 episode but this was a great episode.
I loved many things, mostly, and I am suprised myself, Teal´C and his interactions with Ronon. Their stone expressions, their dialogue, their watching of DVD....

I also liked Teyla in the beginning. It was suprising, but nice dialogue about her interview. And even in this short scene, we now know that she herself isn´t sure if she should return to the team after the birth.

Rodney and John worked very well together. Rodney calls him "John" often now and takes it as normal, which I love! It is one of those positive things about S4 I was able to find there.
How Rodney looked broken after he thought that John is dead was great. And how he took lead when they went to the Jumper, I loved that, too. He stayed calm, and he even yelled at the two scientists to be quiet later in the Jumper :D
And I bet Kavavagh is either out of SG programme now (since destruction of Midway was basically his fault) or he will be sent to some base in XY planet to lead a "scientific" programme there :D

I even didn´t mind Carter here. She worked as a scientist with Rodney but also was a leader. This is the nice balance they didn´t find in whole season.

Few things I didn´t like - destruction of Midway. It was amazing piece of technology, their gateroom was fantastic and it´s bad they lost it. I also think that there should have been some iris on both gates. It was irresponsible not to have it. I believe that the gate net stayed intact so they might built it again.

Dead soldiers - from the strike unit has returned only one! I mean, seriously, but this seems ridiculous.

Sheppard + spacesuit - no way he could have got there so fast and without any help.

That´s it, I guess. Too bad that I liked, really liked 17th episode. Next are Kindred episodes and The Last Man which I guess could be great. So it won´t improve my bad impression from S4 but could it help me to be a little positive about S5.

OH MY GOOODNESS!!

How fantastic was that eppy? I loved it, absolutely loved every singly iddy biddy thing of it, from start to finish!!

We had;

Drama
Angst
Wraith
Kav
Team (alas minus Teyla :( )
Teal'c and Ronon having a pissing contest then bonding! (made my heart melt) :D

We had fight scenes galore, suspence, action, whump! The story was fab, and all the fight scenes were fantastic!

We had humour jokes, Shep slapping Rodney for the 'oh crap comment' in front of the Wraith. Lots of lovely angsty moments between Teal'c and Ronon, loved the bathroom scene *giggles*.

I laughed my ass off at Kav fainting, and Teal'c admiring Ronon's gun, and him telling Teal'c to get in line. Loved the betting pool, and 'mom' putting a stop to it.

Absolutely adored the end scene with Rodney all worried and calling Shep 'John', and was it my imagination or did he also call him 'Shep' when the Wraith came on the view finder?

And the end scene, with Shep and Ronon and Shep wanting to whump himself! Fantastic!

Now this is what I call a good crossover! See if they were all like this, then you know I probably wouldn't mind as much! :P Absolutely brilliant from start to finish, great action, lots and lots of jeapordy and that for me is what makes an ep great. To believe that someone could very well get killed, all the suspense and anticipation as it's built up, that's what I love and that's what we got in spades!

I'm a bit incoherent and babbling and squeeing to make much sense, I need to watch it again, as there was just lots of stuff going on!

I loved the interview with Ronon and the IOA brilliantly done and just perfect, and the scene between Ronon and Teal'c at the end! Loved it :D

Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :D

50/10 from me

Teal'C & Ronon do excellent staring games & the best quote of this episode

Ronon - "You say that alot"

Teal'C - "What"

Ronon - "Indeed"

Teal'C - "I did not notice

I know, I loved that. It is made even more funny for my hubby and I because we are watching (for me rewatching) SG-1. My hubby keeps making a joke about an indeed drinking game.

^ That :indeed: exchange is hilarious! I also loved them watching the Three Stooges without cracking a smile.

That was great... And they both sort of looked at each other, realizing they were both watching it...

But Ronon and Teal'c scenes definately blew me away, you could hear a pin drop it was that intense! Absolutely fantastic, kudos to CJ and JM brilliant acting and intensity, and I loved Teal'c all calm as anything and it pisssed Ronon off even more!

And I thought you weren't going to play because I spoiled you too much.

So, on topic as always,

I think for me what set the tone of the episode was the opening scenes between Teal'c and Ronon. At that point Ronon had already been told he had to go to the IOA, and I think Teyla, Shep and Sam were a bit nervous because they didn't want to lose him. I loved that Same thought Ronon was worth going that extra mile for, it shows how far I think they've come from their initial meeting. I don't think Ronon was very thankful at first.

For me though, I think maybe Ronon felt as if one more person told him he had to behave, then he was going to lose it! In come Teal'c! :P

And the stare at the begining, and the two of them both warriors looking at each other suspiciously (well, maybe just Ronon) That few seconds just created the entire atmosphere of the ep and how things were going to be throughout. All throughout the ep, you could see each of them gaining the respect of the other, brilliantly timed, pacing was perfect! Great job all round.

I so need to watch this ep again. :D

Just finished watching this episode and, I gotta tell you, I loved every second of it.
I am a bit disappointed that the "fight" was so short and ended in a draw, but that was to be expected. Still, Teal'c was kicking ass!:tealc:
The "indeed" conversation was very funny and I was amused by Teal'c wishing he had a gun like Ronon's...:)
I almost didn't recognise Kavanagh because of the new hair...Hmm...Sam(compared to SG-1), Teal'c, Kavanagh, they all have new hair styles. Next season, Ronon might join them...At least Shep's consistant.:D
I wonder if the Wraith had enough time to suck away a few more years from Teal'c before Ronon impaled it...Poor guy...he's already almost 160...:(
Loved the ending. Shep sealing himself in the front compartment. Poor McKay, though...
All in all, awesome, action-filled episode. This is shaping up to be a great final few episodes. :zelenka25:

Utterly Awesome. Some of the best laughs all season too!

Teal'c: I would very much like a weapon such as this.
Ronon: Get in line.

Where can you start on how good this episode was? I understand Carter breaking up the fight. Those two would not stop until one of them was dead - end of! Love how easy Ronon's interview ended up being. LMAO! Was a bit weird seeing the SGC with no major personnel though. Or Sgt Siler being injured in some unpleasant manner.

Absolute 10 out of 10. It had everything. Too much to say! Must watch again!

Midway is by far one of my favorite episode this season so far!!!

The tension between Teal'c and Ronon in the beginning was to be expected but it added to how cool this episode is, the fight scene between T & R was awsome! I found it amusing that Sheppard and the others including Chuck were making bets on the outcome :D
I had a feeling that I would love this episode ever since I first heard about it... IMO this kind of ep was needed after the last few, I thought they were ok but we definately needed something that hit hard and this ep certainly did the job...

Easily a 9.5/10 to 10/10 :D *Yes it is THAT awsome!*

Last edited by TameFarrar : Today at 06:53 AM. Reason: download links are forbidden on Gate world and can cause you to be banned

After all the buildup though, didn't find the episode that impressive tbh. The sparring between Ronon and Teal'c maybe lasted a minute and maybe 3 or 4 shots in total? Not that impressive tbh; Teyla's weapon fight scenes with John/Ronon earlier in Atlantis were better in my opinion.

Wraith stuff was kinda interesting but again, not that impressive. Overall I'd give the ep a 7 or an 8, possibly less considering how Midway went boom, grr. Every time we have a nice piece of hardware out there, it ends up getting wiped out. Bloody annoying to say the least.

2nd, non-mod abuse reason for editing: Anyone else notice that when the Wraith dialled the MW gate, the dialing sound effects were the pegasus "squeal" sfx rather than the MW dialling sfx.

I am shocked as I actually have to say I loved this episode. I know! Me! :S

I am not normally one to like action eps, fights do little if anything for me, and all that testosterone is a total turn off usually. :S Also neither Ronon or Teal'c are my fave characters, and I still have so much trouble understanding anything that Jason/Ronon says *grrr* but I found none of that mattered here, I think this was the best of all the action based episodes so far... I mean in all the seasons. I know! Me!:p

I found the concept believable, even if I had to forgive them for the total lack of security on the station, I mean seriously, what did they have half a dozen marines and a few scientist who seemed shocked to be asked to hold a gun! *shakes head* The fact that no one seemed to reacted quickly to the invasion was just down right odd to me, even if the shield (Iris) couldn't be activated or whatever, it still seemed like Dr Lee was ineffectual in those moments. I would have hoped for better training for the guy by now.

All that aside, I found everyone to be in character even Kav, who I still love, Dr Lee didn't bug me, Sheppard was in control and showed real leadership and McKay was written *by Carl... OMG!* as McKay! Will wonders never cease?!

I loved the interaction between McKay and Sheppard, and I was so happy when McKay finds Sheppard in the space suit. *aw* :D

Yeah a few things were disappointing, lack of Teyla but I guess we are getting more of her in the next two eps... or we better be anyway, no Keller; but I also guessed that would be the case as she only has a couple more eps left this season to appear in. I guess I was hoping to see more banter between Teal'c and Ronon, I mean they may not be known for their conversation skills :P but a small conversation while stuck in Quarantine before all hell broke loose would have been good, two aliens amongst all these humans. I don't know maybe they just didn't have the time to do anything like that... also the 3 stooges? What is it with American males and that show?

However it was nice to see the bit with Teal'c and Ronon after he passed inspection/interrogation... hmm, makes me happy that Woolsey is coming to SGA and not this other guy. :S What is it with those guys anyway!?

I liked the end, although in my head (and the fanfics to follow) McKay is locked away with Sheppard *cough* :P

I probably wouldn't watch this again but as I say action eps are not my thing, but it is still an unexpected highlight of the season. :)

"Midway" was amazing, the best episode of the season and one of the best SGA eps of all time. The team work between Teal'c and Ronon was fantastic, tons of action(which is always a plus), and the jokes were hilarious. I felt that the final scene was a nice little touch. :)

I was sceptical about Midway when I first heard about it many moons ago. Would I like a Ronon/Teal'c based episode? Sure, I love both characters, but would it be an episode just full of testosterone and not a lot else? Would it be a good story, with good character moments?

Well, I have to say any misgivings I may have initially had all those months ago were completely annihilated the minute I watched this episode!

This was classic Stargate, at its VERY best.

Teal'c was wonderful. How I adore his 'Indeed' being used! He's become the daddy of Stargate to me, and his counsel towards Ronon here was funny, wonderful and touching. What patience the Jaffa has learned. And maybe Ronon has learned something from his mentor too? I think he has! :) Good old Teal'c. The two characters had wonderful chemistry. The fight scenes were brutal, but exciting and so well done. Kudos to both these actors here! :) (And to Bam Bam and any stunt guys too!)

Ok, so, I loved the story. Really well done. I was actually scared in a few places  I really felt the danger of the wraith hunting everyone. I actually felt adrenaline in my veins! Part of me wanted to hide behind a cushion, as I did when watching Dr Who as a child.

Ronon just gets better and better. How Jason managed to out stare Chris Judge is beyond me. I'd have had fits of hysterical laughter! But, wow, he did it! This episode was a learning curve for Ronon in a way; he has to learn to control his temper, and in the end, I think he accepts that, to a certain degree. I loved that Coolidge (sp?) got to see his loyalty, and that he won't abandon anyone, no matter the personal cost.

I ADORED Ronon's interactions with Sheppard. My goodness these two have wonderful on-screen chemistry. The final scene is going down as one of my all time favourite scenes. It was just too cute for words! :)

I loved Sheppard in this. Being all soldier-y (is that a word?), and I was scared for him! When he was all oxygen deprived, my little whumper's heart was all a fluttering! How he got in the space suit so quickly though is a bit of a mystery...

Nice to see Teyla here, even if it was only briefly. I loved Sheppard's over protectiveness of her, but was sad to see his shocked face when she doesn't indicate she's definitely coming back to the team :(

Carter. You know I just love her. She was great here. Seeing this episode makes me realise how much I'm going to miss her next season. I love her warmth and calm. Her friendship to Teal'c, her concern for Ronon. I'm sad she's going. I like her relaxed leadership style. It suits the show. I'm happy for AT, but sad for me, as an Atlantis fan. Her presence on screen is most welcome by me, and I will be sad not to see her face next season so much, because she has enriched the show for me :(

Ok, so onwards. Kav? Oh he's as whiney as ever. But I still like him. He's a great character. I liked Lee here. I am very fond of him, but he kept Kav under control...well, nearly!

McKay was wonderful too. I laughed out loud at the end of the eppie when he was so annoyed by Lee and Kav! His little annoyed voice was sooo endearing.

You know, I think I'm strange. Because for the life of me, I can't explain why every time Rodney says 'John' my heart skips a beat. It doesn't make sense to me at all. I totally adore it, and coming from McKay it just seems to make me really happy, even though he's said it multiple times now. Goodness knows what's wrong with me! I did love Rodney's desperation at having to vent the atmosphere. He thought Shep was dead :( And the look on his face said it all. As did the expression when he found Shep!

So Midway went boom. Stupid Kav. But, you know, maybe without it things will become more desperate for Atlantis? I really hope so.

So, this was a brilliant episode. So well done in every aspect. Kudos to all involved and especially to CB for writing it! I'm still amazed at how good it was!

So, a 9/10 for me. Just a tad behind BAMSR, though it's close. I love team eppies and this one, despite it's focus on Ronon and the wonderful Teal'c was very much that for me.

Er, one thing. Ok, I've already said I'm weird, so forgive this footnote. Ok, so the scientists and Shep are stuck on the PJ, for, well, presumably many days, or at least over 1? Er, where did they go to the toilet? I'm so sorry, but all last night in bed I kept asking myself that same question! :o

Edit: Thanks to Darren for the caps! :)

Was the wink from Shep to Ronon and him saying he had to be a good boy and then Ronon mumbling under his breath, "I hate you!" after shep leaves.   That had me in hysterics!

But Ronon and Teal'c scenes definately blew me away, you could hear a pin drop it was that intense! Absolutely fantastic, kudos to CJ and JM brilliant acting and intensity, and I loved Teal'c all calm as anything and it pisssed Ronon off even more!

OMG i loved that bit and shep's face said it all  It was that look that said, "What the hell did you tell him that for, now he's thinking he can kick our ass!"

Homage to the whumpers, *giggles* oh it just made me squee and giggle and just lmao in quite a few places, but it was just so intense in other parts, that I was screaming at my pc  You know it's good when I start doing that, because i'm normally such a quiet reserved sorta person. But oh my goodness, i'm sure there's tonnes I missed in between being on the edge of my seat and laughing.

Brilliant!! Oh I said that already, didn't I? Oh who cares, it was fantastic :D

let me put it this way... It usually takes me about a week to do 10 posts, I've done nearly 80 this week... :D Clearly one of my top 3 favorites.

That was very cool.

Good to see that ridiculous old age hasn't diminished Teal'c's ass-kicking abilities... http://www.thescifiworld.net/img/smilies/stargate/tealc2/tealc_new045.gif The action scenes were awesome. Some very rattly guns in there...

Loads of hilarious moments. Kav's "Trust me, my allegiance is not that strong!" followed by Lee's "It really isn't..." was possibly my favourite, even with all of the Teal'c/Ronon and Shep/McKay stuff. :D

Poor John, having to spend a week with those three. Totally understandable that he would barricade himself in the front (although he could have let Rodney in, at least for a bit ;)). He had a great episode too, doing his "cool hero" thing. :p The final scene with he and Ronon was really nice.

My only niggle is how easily and quickly John must have gotten into that suit. It normally takes them ages.

That was on hell of a stun granade. Kind of weird that it was able to penetrate all that concrete and stuff.

How the hell did john get into the space suit so fast? Wouldn't it have been easier just to jump into the airlock or that hatch thing?

Loved it when Teal'c goes I would love a weapon like yours.

That's Harmony, Trio & Midway... Can we haz the team back NOW pleaz?

The good:

* Ronon kicking Teal'c's ass - This is Ronon's turf, not Teal'c's.
* I spotted a 20 euro bill in Sheppard's hands :D
* Teyla wanting to kick Woolsey mark II's ass for his behavior
* blowing up the midway station - not the actual explosion, but the fact that it is now gone ...

The funny (those seconds I spontaneously started laughing, read chuckle):

* Kavanagh fainting
* the scene in the back of the jumper
* Sheppard in the front and Ronon waking him up

The cool:

* the Wraith stun-ball - neat technology and why haven't we seen that before cause this could turn them back into this formidable enemy they used to be. Though I admust admit, it does remind me of the smaller version Goa'uld stungrenade-ball-thing.

The bad:

* so Robert Picardo wasn't available when they were filming this episode, so instead they cast his younger twin and have him play the scenes. So all of the IOA are cowards, huh? Will be fun to watch when Woolsey's in charge of Atlantis next season. Can't wait for it. :S

* no substance, no story - just shooting and dying, and lots of filler - felt like I was watching a boring Cowboy-film ... John Wayne did it better.

* all sense of excitement (if there was every any) is gone when you know for a fact that main characters (ie Sheppard & McKay) won't die any time soon. (same with that rope from Trio - stu-pid)

Loved this episode.

The Ronon/Tealc dynamic was fantastic, they went from hating each other to good friends with a strong, mutual respect, and all it took was the slaughter of dozens and dozens of Wraith:) Loved the little lines between them like the 'Indeed' conversation, and Ronon using indeed too:D

The 'sparring' match was great.:D Sam broke it up but Ronon just couldn't drop it lol. I think Ronon is better with weapons, but Tealc is better hand-to-hand.

The Sheppard/Ronon scene at the end was great, nice friendship moment. Loved the Tealc/Sam friendship stuff too:)

Shame about the station, but I saw it coming. Atleast it went out with a BANG!

And even though Teyla was only present at the start, I loved seeing her again, and the stuff she said about wanting to hit Mr. Coolidge:D

The Wraith were great as always, shame about Todd betraying the time, but then how did that Wraith get the info from him? Could have been torture or anything, he may not have given it willingly, I guess we will find out soon enough;)

I liked Ronon's meeting with the IOA at the end.:D "Yes"...pause... "Good enough for me":D

The new look, yellowy planet was cool, nice to see some variation this year:)

I liked the scientists, enjoyed seeing kavanaugh again. Good to see Dr. Lee didn't give in to the Wraith demands and open the gate to the SGC for them, very brave.

And nice to see the Daedalus again, if only for a brief moment.

The only downside to the whole thing was i had to keep pausing it because my dad was cutting tiles for the bathroom floor:( I wish I had just waited an hour or so now:(

Can't wait for tomorrow, when The Kindred promo stuff will be released!:D

Currently, I would rank the season 4 episodes in this order (best to worst)

BAMSR
Midway
Lifeline
The Seer
SoW
Tabula Rasa
Outcast
Adrift
This Mortal Coil
Missing
Trio
Reunion
Doppelganger
Miller's Crossing
Quarantine

Where was that exactly? The T-man gave just as good as he got.

Woolsey seems to respect everyone in the expedition, and the wider Stargate program for that matter, be them human or not. I think the point was this new guy is 'racist' towards aliens as it were, and as such Ronon wouldn't have stood nearly as good a chance as passing as he would have with Woolsey who already knows him and Teyla.

Mmm... in my pov it seemed like Teal'c had no answer to Ronon's onslaught when they continued hand-to-hand.
And that they had been fighting for an hour... Sure, cause neither wanted to quit and Ronon breaking Teal'c's stick. Well, that must have been a powerful strike.

Whatever the case TPTB left it open for a reason... They are too in love with Teal'c to let him loose, and they are too afraid of what would happen if they let Ronon get beaten. It would be favoritism at its best. :)

The Pros:

1. Teal'c and Sam
2. Sam and Teal'c
3. The Zat guns (loved how the Wraith fell :P )

My point of view:

I looked forward to this episode because of Teal'c appearance. The brief moments between Sam and Teal'c had more chemistry than SGA had this whole season. You can see the ease and comfort between those two. When Sam is with Teal'c she becomes the SAM we know and not that puppet they installed at the helm. Ronon behaved exactly like he did when we met him in Runner and Sateda: childish, immature, and always with the run and gun enthusiasm. It was about time someone showed him he is not the bomb diggity. Too bad the episode was biased. From his attitude I knew Ronon will be the hero. Ignoring that aspect, Teal'c handled himself pretty well against all those Wraith. As I mentioned in the ANTI-S4 thread my heart stopped when I saw Teal'c pinned to the wall. I thought they will kill him. The feeding process on Teal'c was different than normal. No need for explanations TPTB, we are used to having things hanging in the air.

How would sending an IDC work though, that'd be the next issue - I guess they'd have to send the IDC through first, shut down and then go. Also - if the wraith can hack into it the system in the first place - wouldn't they be more than capable of hacking the IDC and setting up an iris block? Maybe the writers also thought this and thought it'd be too much explaining and just went with the simpler idea of having no iris.

Just my 2 cents

No, an iris just like the SGC has. Remember SG-1 didn't have to dial twice in the early days - they've sent an IDC code on a specific frequency and Walter lowered the iris.

One small problem I had was that, as far as I remember, in Return I, McKay said that the bridge is made up of space gates...And that would have been the clever thing to do...the Wraith couldn't have done what they did. Now they have planetary gates as part of the bridge. It's just an obvious change, meant to suit the plot. Not that big a deal...just something that bugged me(along with the iris thing - it really is difficult to imagine them not putting an iris on the Midway gate(s)...)

Capturing the Travelers' ship would really be a story of its own, and IMO is unlikely.

Any hyperdrive good enough to reach Midway quickly would be good enough to reach Earth, which would totally screw the overall story of the show...

Well, yes, it's mostly speculation. Just like saying that those who survived knew the info is speculation. It's not a plothole, that's all I'm saying. Yes, it is. But a plothole it is not.;)
Personally, I'd prefer for the Wraith to get to the MW, get their ass handed to them and then Michael could become the major enemy - similar to Ba'al in SG-1. Afterall, he and Todd give the Wraith a face and make them interesting as an enemy. Otherwise, yes, the Wraith are a danger - just like we are to cattle - but they're not THAT menacing. They're sorta...there, you know? "OH, yes, we might get attacked...Yawn". An enemy with a face, that's developed on a personal level, is always far more compeling.

That's Harmony, Trio & Midway... Can we haz the team back NOW pleaz?

The good:

* Ronon kicking Teal'c's ass - This is Ronon's turf, not Teal'c's.
* I spotted a 20 euro bill in Sheppard's hands :D
* Teyla wanting to kick Woolsey mark II's ass for his behavior
* blowing up the midway station - not the actual explosion, but the fact that it is now gone ...

The funny (those seconds I spontaneously started laughing, read chuckle):

* Kavanagh fainting

(same with that rope from Trio - stu-pid)

....

Wow, I just watched it and I can't even remember half it, that's how bad it is.

Was Teyla in this episode? Oh yeah, she was for about thirty seconds talking about Darth Tagaan and the IOA :P :P :P.

They way SAM needs to be. Not that shallow copy who leads Atlantis. So much respect between both of them. You could feel how they cared for one another and how much they learned during those SG1 missions. I loved Teyla's "sloppy" seconds :P. Wallpaper anyone? :P

Yeah, I kinda agree. I mean, I love Sam, but I don't think she truly belongs in Atlantis. Her place is alongside Teal'c and Daniel. Seeing them together just makes me miss SG-1 that much more. :( Truly, SG-1(even seasons 9 and 10) and great chemistry between the cast, even in the early episodes.
You get some of those moments with Atlantis as well, but it's mostly between two members, Ronon with Shep and Shep with McKay...They just don't do it for me as a team. And Teyla's just so bland...But(unlike you, I assume:p), I still have hope that they will become a REAL team.

upload the macro and viola. and yea mckay's arrogance WILL kill him someday.

He wasn´t arrogant in this episode. He had a confidence in his work because the macro worked. Todd hacked his system so it wasn´t McKay´s fault that Wraith got into it.

Of course that everything is McKay´s fault. We need someone who is blamed. Did anyone forget that the station is McKay/CARTER? If someone should remind to McKay that there is necessary iris on the gates, then it´s Carter. McKay did the macro, yes, but Carter is a soldier and she should think of military aspects.
But she is Carter, it´s almost unthinkable that she could make a mistake, right?

I did not know Carter is supposed to clean up after McKay. I might be wrong on this one, and I apologise if I am, but didn't the problem start on McKay's end? Your post is funny, nonetheless.

If you couldn't see excitement in the episode then I don't know what you were watching -- yet, you list many good things about it.*sigh*

The excitement of the danger .... the sense of the situation being potentially dangerous and could possibly turn out to be the last for the heroes of this tale. If you can predict at the beginning that all will end well for the main guys (intentional use of "main" and not "good") then all excitement goes *poof*. There's no real sense of danger. It's all fun and games.

My point is that they worked together on the bridge. So as partners, they are supposed to control each other, yes. They had their tasks who is doing what task. And they both probably helped to design the station. So, again, Carter as a soldier, should have thought about the iris and everything. And, of course, there are tens of other scientists, and tens of other personnel working on it.
What I am saying is that they, again, made it look like that it´s McKay´s fault. But I might be influenced by my blind love to Hewlett and McKay :D

Well what can I say, one word would sum it up nicely, brilliant. What a great episode, so many twists and turns that you never saw coming, an episode that shows the wraith actually aren't dumb. Tealc, the man as ever, totally kicking wraith butt and what a team him and Ronon make, I have a feeling those two could be best friends. I also count them even now, the match was a draw, Tealc saved Ronon and Ronon saved Tealc, all square. The midway :(, what a great thing it was, beautiful gateroom, just how I'd like to see a Tauri gateroom and the two gates look really good, I loved seeing a pegasus gate with a ramp for some reason. It's a shame, the only thing that takes this episode down is the fact that TPTB again had to blow something up, it's getting really tiresome. Really TPTB seem like they can't think of imaginative ways around keeping things, instead they just blow it up, I wouldn't be surprised if Atlantis is next. I'll give the episode 9.5 out of 10, would've been a 10 if the midway had survived.

How the hell did john get into the space suit so fast? Wouldn't it have been easier just to jump into the airlock or that hatch thing?

Loved it when Teal'c goes I would love a weapon like yours.

Then what's the difference? or to put it another way, why do you feel that the sense of peril has gone when nothing in the show has changed other than some characters leaving?

Seems to me the only way it is possible to cultivate the feeling that the main characters aren't always safe is to occasionally kill one of them, but you don't want that to happen either.

Non stop action.. and fantastic character moments . I just loved every moment of it from start to finish.

Ditto that! All I knew about Midway was the Teal'c - Ronon face-off. Kudos to Jason Momoa esp. in this episode. It surpassed my expectations with action, plot, explosions, dialogue, continuity...

... and the humour!
Shep's face when Carter breaks up the fight :sheppard:
Kavanaugh returns ... only to destroy Midway and faint. Again. "It figures."
Ronon and Teal'c discuss "Indeed," end up watching The Three Stooges in that tiny room (!)
Teal'c after firing Ronon's gun - "Get in line!" :tealc:
Shep getting woken up by Ronon - "I almost stunned (them?) myself!"
The final scenes after Ronon's successful IOA interview, first with Teal'c, then John. Awww. :ronan:

Other parts I liked:
- I'm glad they didn't make out Mr Coolidge to be yet another unrepentant IOA hard ass.
- Teyla's brief appearance, with just that bit of uncertainty on her future. Nice ongoing tension.
- Shep in military commander mode. Flash backs to The Storm/The Eye, anyone?

Why is it that Ronon hates Teal'c already? (I'm only seeing this right now.)

My interpretation is that Ronon doesn't hate Teal'c directly - it's more what Teal'c represents.

To Ronon, Teal'c is an extention of the mistrust earth has for him and we all know Ronon doesn't take well to not being trusted. So the fact that they've got some other alien that Earth DO trust trying to "train" him is demeaning.

Ronon hates what Teal'c represents, not who he is - he doesn't even know Teal'c!

Ummmm... why the heck did they even bother bypassing the planet with the Wraith on it, just to get back on the gate bridge network? They should have used the ZPM to power a direct connection to the Midway station... I think the situation warranted the use of a 'little' of the power reserves to get to the station ASAP.....

Bye bye Midway station. Ugh! Now they are blowing up stations too! Can't we keep anything!!!

Great episode though. Good action, great bonding between the characters, Ronon and Teal'c fighting finally, the Wraith not being stupid for once, what's not to like? Oh yea, the midway station blowing up. Didn't like that. Would have been better if the station had survived. That way, the threat of the wraith would still be there, as they'd know where it was so the Atlantis/midway/SGC would need to take even more precautions; thereby adding tension.

WOW! I have to say 10/10! Midway now stands with The Defiant One and Common Ground as my fav SGA eps. Awesome. I really can't dish out enough praise for this ep. Teal'c and Ronon were great together, everything about this ep was great. I loved when Ronon said Teal'c says indeed alot and Teal'c "had not noticed." And when Ronon says indeed at the end was amazing! The action was great too, between Teal'c and Ronon at the SGC and SHeppard on Midway, there was enough action for two epss, maybe more! Only thing that annoyed me was when Teal'c and Ronon didn't close the iris at the SGC. They knew they Wraith were planning on sending more troops and the only way to have stopped that would have been closing the iris and locking out the midway idc, but that's a small matter and was no way near enough to ruin such an awesome ep.

Really this was the best episode of S4 for me so far. I loved a lot of the eps, but nothing can compare to this.

I always loved Ronon and the writers once again showed why. He has presence and even for a silent and intense guy he can have a quite biting sardonic sense of humor.

At this point I say dump SGA and create the Teal'c and Ronon show just for the hell of it. I would tune every day for pecs and senseless violence.

Favorite lines...too many to count, but a few that I know by memory.

Ronon: Why do say that so much?

Teal'c: What?

Ronon: Indeed.

Teal'c: Really, I had not noticed.

Pure and utter class.

Another one...

Teal'c: Where can I acquire such a weapon?

Ronon: Get in line.

Wonderful. Not so good, but close enough to the real thing. Rodney and John had presence but luckily they didn't overshadow Tealc and Ronon nor my man Kav. What a jerk, but I still adore him.

This really was just great.

Now on the Wraith!!!

Now for a while I've had problems with the Wraith. After S2, a great Wraith season, they just seemed so retarded and worthless throughout S3 and early S4. Just one of the weakest villains out there and not worth the time of day. Hence the reason I was so gung-ho about the Replicators...who have now taken that head title of stupidity.

After this episode the Wraith have been utterly redeemed. They show resilience and definitely a threat that is immediate. They've just taken center stage as true villains and something to worry about. They may be easily disposed of during battle, but they are massive in numbers and their intelligence cannot be ignored.

Thank you writers and now I've just developed an interest in S5 that I was worried would not happen.

This episode, if I dare say so early on is the best episode of S4 in my book.

:ronan::tealc: <---forever

Oh and I loved that sweet moment of Ronon/John, I love my boys.

Now as for Kanan, who was he in movie 300, he doesn't remind me of any of the guys I remember. I remember my dude from HEX, he was part of the homosexual pair, I remember the father of one of the homosexual guys who was killed, I remember the lead actor and a few of the military...but him?! Nada. Was he an extra? He couldn't have had a name?!

Midway this was a pretty good ep.

Well, I was afraid they would destroy the Carter character on Atlantis as TPTB likes to destroy all things good in stargate. I have less respect for her now that she said she liked Teal'cs hair.... of course they made her say she liked the uniforms earlier in the season but I think I had blocked that out. I am sure they will finish her off in these last 3 eps.

Teal'c was cool (except the hair). I like that he doesnt get angry, just remains calm and does his job. I like Ronan but they made him unreasonable for no reason and it seemed out of character for him (at the beginning of the ep, at the end of the ep he was back to being himself).

I am not fond of the actor choosen as that new IOA guy. I mean I dont know him personally but he tends to have played comedy in what I have seen him in before so it doesnt bode well for giving the IOA any weight that I can take seriously.

Um the Kavanah thing...well actually Self Destruct of the station really should have been a HUMAN plan not a Wraith plan. I mean seriously, let wraith get to earth or blow up Midway? Um you blow up Midway then you might not have to blow up the SGC. The command Lee should have had to enter was the self destruct.

Midway station was a bad idea to begin with for this very reason and I am glad it is gone. I hope they dont rebuild it. UNLucky for the wraith they have such bad timing as to go there the one time that Ronan and Teal'c were there.

An energy bomb that can take out the entire SGC huh. Um how come they didnt use that when they invaded Atlantis? And will we ever see it again or will it just go into the big Deus Exmachina plothole.

I hope teal'c went back and double zatted those wraith.

Teal'c saves Ronan, Ronan saves teal'c, and they tie in the fight. Figured that would be the case.

Todd is a red herring I think. I think they got the info from Carson and its all big bad Mikeys idea.

The ep was pretty good, lots of action. No one looked too stupid, not even Kavanah....well except for the fainting and the thinking Peal Harbor was a good movie. Not sure why the wraith would just let Lee stand around though once they got the info from him....oh well, being saved by a plothole is not the worst fate that has befallen his character over the years, being turned into a cartoon was.

Midway was one of the best episodes of the season, imo. You had the intense character drama, the comic relief, the action packed thriller, the suspense, and wraith infiltrating the SGC. The episode was also very well written because it brought up "Todd" and gave a reason why the Wraith were able to gate in so easily. Todd had been to Midway and the SGC, aka Miller's Crossing.

Some funny moments in this episode, Teal'c and Ronon watching the 3 stooges, Kavanagh fainting, and the end was great with Sheppard listening to music while the others are talking in the back of the puddlejumper.

The action was nonstop, from the moment Teal'c walked out of the gate and onto Atlantis, it just was action packed and intense. The episode did not make you lose focus for one second.

I cannot wait till next week, the show is approaching that wild time again where anything can happen. :)

God i hate Kavanaugh let me count the ways. 1. He is a whiny, piece of crap. 2. His incompetence destroyed the station. Still he has one saving grace. Jelgate's Two Cents
Words can not express how great this episode. But I still have to write my review, so I will attempt to describe the greatness of Midway. It’s nice to finally see the return of Teyla if it was only for a few minutes. I don't blame her for wanting to punch the IOA representative in the face. I don't think I would have had enough self-control to resist punching him. The old SG-1 chemistry between Carter and Teal'c was greatly appreciated. I especially enjoyed the part when Teal'c said he knew that Atlantis would get accustomed to having her as the new leader. In the mess hall, Teal'c clearly showed Ronon that you have be calm with dealing with bureaucrats. I loved the fight between Ronon and Teal'c. Too bad it was a draw. Who knew that Sheppard was a gambling man? He most likely had the spar go on so he could get some money. This is the Wraith of S1 that I miss. They were sneaky and able to sneak onto Midway. I hope Sheppard kills Todd next time he sees him. We were able to see a glimpse on the Carter from the days when she was on SG-1. She and McKay were using their wits to figure out why they couldn't sneak onto Midway. Speaking of Midway, Teal'c and Ronon shooting the entire Wraith on the station was epic. They really do make a good team. Does anyone want to play the Wraith Beachball of Death? It was cool to see a new piece of technology that stuns everyone in considerable area. I hope we see it in future episodes. It could be an interesting weapon for the Wraith to use. Maybe it was me, but it seemed that the Wraith in the SGC were harder to beat. Maybe it has sometime to do with the fact that they had feed on SGC solders. Kavannagh, you idiot, I was so hoping that Sheppard would shove him into space after he activated the self-destruct. For someone who is suppose to be so smart, he sure is dumb. Sheppard proved once again on how much he cares about everyone. He risked his life by ordering McKay to vent the atmosphere. I think Sheppard is becoming the new Daniel. It looks like he is about to die and he finds a way to survive by hiding away in a space suit. Goodbye Midway station, it was nice knowing you Coolidge is such a selfish man, Ronon should have feed him to the Wraith. I understand that the SGC was in danger but he wouldn't even consider helping Teal'c because like all bureaucrats he only cares about himself. The fight of Ronon and Teal'c vs those last two Wraith was awesome. They were incredible difficult to beat. I thought we were going to see Teal'c age a little bit. I guess he was lucky that Ronon was their to jam a pipe into a Wraith's stomach. Apparently Ronon's interview was a lot easier than Teyla's. Saving the planet from an alien attack probably helps the IOA see the kind of person you are. The Puddle Jumper scene at the end was hilarious. Sheppard can't take the scientist, so he locks himself in the cockpit. I have to say this is episode was even better than BAMSR.

While it was good to see Teal'c again, I found myself strangely detached from the episode. There was a lot of fighting, yelling, shooting, etc., but as in "Adrift", it was a lot of noise and not much plot.

I do believe Kavanagh would make a great BF for Keller. Whiners in Love. It would be a great spinoff show. ;)

Looking forward to next week though!

Teal'c Ronon awesome team
R:"You say indeed a lot"
T:" I do?"
R: "Yes"
T: "I haven't notice"LOL

HA! I thought that was funny too. I also loved their exchange later:
Teal'c: "Perfect timing!"
Ronon: "Indeed"

I also loved:

McKay: "We've made a terrible mistake.......we never should have revived Kavanaugh!"

Bwahahahaha! :):)

Also: Kavanaugh saying quite unecessarily: "They are shooting at the door."
I don't know why I cracked up at that but I totally did. I half expected Rodney to scream "No &*^$ Sherlock!"

My love for Dr. Lee knows no boundaries. I heart him.

Teyla! We only got to see her for a minute, but at least we got to see her.....I saw her having a bit of trouble getting out of her chair when the meeting was over. I know how difficult it can be getting out of a chair at that point in your pregnancy! :) That look she gave Shep about returning to active duty after childbirth was kind of ominous.........

Rodney's face when he thought Shep was dead. I love that Hewlett and his awesomeness.

Rodney's frustrated/angry/half-crazed gibberish babbling @ Dr. Lee and crew in the back of the puddle jumper. If the scientists were driving Rodney crazy, no wonder Shep hid in the front.

Looking forward to next week's eppy!

I think the episode gets a 9/10, even though it does have some issues, but many of those issues were for the benefit of the episode plot.

Teal'c fighting Ronan was a instant favorite, especially with all the people placing bets in the background. I've always wanted to know if they have Earth currency on Atlantis, and I guess this answers the question.

Ronan not being very friendly to Teal'c was a good move by the writers, given the fact Ronan was under review. Inviting Teal'c was basically Carter's way of telling Ronan she didn't think he could pass the test without help, which would obviously upset Ronan. When Ronan turned on the Coolidge guy and questioned his decision to nuke the SGC and abandon Teal'c, I think that was also a good part of the episode.

All in all, a great episode, but I have a few comments below.

I think the Wraith were equally stupid in this episode.

1. Why did they only stun the people at the SGC? they fed on like 5 people or less, and ignored the rest? I am suprised they didn't feed on more people, not that I wanted them to though.

2. What were the Wraith hoping to do on Earth? gather intel? They didn't feed on many people, so that can't be why they went. If Todd did indeed give them intel, he should have told them the base was underground and that getting out would not be possible. I realize the Wraith attack plan did not go as planned, but simply taking over the SGC will not accomplish much, especially if the self destruct goes off.

As for the Midway station, there was no Iris because they assumed no one knew about Midway or would be unable to break the macro. This part of the story was necessary, otherwise the Episode plotline would not work.

When it comes to Midway security, I do find it odd that the station has less than 10 people on it, and that Lee or Kavenough didn't activate the self destruct once they saw the Wraith invading.

In regards to Atlantis sending a rescue force, I disliked the fact the Writers send in this whole wave of military guys, and they all die, except for two guarding the control room. Is it just me, or do the Writers love killing off the military members of Atlantis? It must be bad for morale seeing most of the strike team die on the mission and the overall high casualty rate for the military dudes.

AMAZING episode! One of the best! It had Atlantis, the Midway Space Station and the SGC all in one episode!

Ronon and Teal'c's fighting was amazing. It's good to hear some more about how the Intergalactic gate bridge works. I thought all of the gates were in space, I'm surprised one of them was on a planet. Personally, I think that was just a bit of lazy writing since it was established at least partially that all the gates were in space between the galaxies. The Wraith getting into the SGC was pretty cool. I'm glad that we got to see lots of the SGC, I was afraid that only a few minutes would be shot there. The film quality is much better than previously used, things looked much more clear. Teal'c liking Ronon's gun was nice to see. I hated that Mr. Coolidge, he's 10 times worse than Woolsey. I'll bet he just passed Ronon because he saved him. I wish that they'd just get rid of the IOA out of the show as it's more than run it's course.

Ronon and Teal'c discuss "Indeed," end up watching The Three Stooges in that tiny room (!)

Tiny is right! I don't know if its all the talk of toilets on Joe M's blog or what, but I noticed a toilet when they first walked into the room they had to share.
Ronon was eyeing it for a few seconds. I cackled out loud at his expression.

This was easily the best episode of the season and it's not because I don't like any of the preceding epiosdes thus far. Yes, this episode felt a bit rushed at time (there was quite a lot to crammed into an hour long...not so sure there is enough for a two parter though) but that adds to the tightness.

It's great to see Teal'c back in the SG world and for him to interact with Ronan was very cool. I also liked the return of Kavanaugh (and somewhat glad that he didn't just become another Wraith fodder).

To nitpick, I would have to say that I'm surprised a bit by the team's poor choice in reviving people. A conscious Kavanaugh was just trouble. So was a conscious Coolidge (or whatever was the name of the IOA guy). Anyhow, I expect a string of great episodes to close out the season.

Easily one of the best episodes of Season 4. I'm glad I decided to watch tonight.

This episode offered us some much needed suspense while also us giving us nice character moments. Ronon just keeps growing on me, and I'm happy with the way his character is starting to unfold.

I even enjoyed the Ronon/Teal'c interaction. I was worried that it would feel forced, but Chris and Jason had good chemistry together.

It was good to see Sheppard leading a strike force again. I was hoping to see Lorne as well, but I guess he can't be in them all. :)

As others have pointed out, the humor was also well-balanced and actually funny. It wasn't campy, which I appreciated. Loved that Sheppard isolated himself in the jumper and that Rodney was annoyed at Kav and Lee for talking too much.

But what impressed me the most was that the Wraith seem to have their teeth back. Not only did they gate into Midway and indirectly destroy it, but they also broke our codes and had a smart plan to neutralize the SGC with little effort. It's good to see them as a formidable enemy again. So, I'm very happy and looking forward to The Kindred.

Really? I thought the plot was well done.

I agree and disagree. I side more with the OP---as terrifying as that is for me.

In any event, the point being that it's senseless action with no answers. We don't know the way the way the Wraith obtained the coordinates. Meaning did they kill the allies from BAMSR or not. Which leaves you wondering were did they betray willing or against their will. Then you have to sit there and find out about that energy ball and really what they were going to do. I just got the feeling of wondering where the writers were going with it--hence the reason the plot sort of fell through for me as well.

But it didn't take away the greatness of the episode for me, which again was my favorite this season. I love senseless action and violence and yelling and with the deeper ways of bonding and development for the team members. Until they connect this ep with another Wraith ep---it will just be a filler episode for the season. Although fillers have sort of plots, they're stand alone stories thrown into the mix that have no real connection.

First impression, I really liked this episode! Great Tealc and Ronon interaction, it was good to see Ronon being Ronon again.

We had some more insight into Teyla's pregnancy and whether she will return to active duty.

One word, Kavanah! When I saw him I knew I was going to be laughing, he is such a character! In a string a few "eh" episodes I thought this one was great, a sort of stand alone that had really good development (the kind he needs IMO) for Ronon, finally to see him actually being Ronon after Quarentine. Very funny scenes and a plus for me no mushy, flirty scenes. The best part for me was Rodney taking control of the "geek squad" taking the gun from Dr. Lee and being the MAN instead of the sheep. Out of Dr. Lee, Kavanah and Rodney, Rodney is so much more capeable in those situations. LOVED THE LAST SCENE! I can not wait until next week even if the part I am really looking forward to won't be until "the last 5 minutes" ;)

It left some unanswered questions but thats not a bad thing. It's something that they will tie together later. It doesnt make a bad plot for me.

I didn't think this was that great. My mind kept wandering, but what I remember was:

Ronon is going to be interviewed to see if he is trustworthy. Teal'c shows up to play interview instructor.

Teyla is gonna pop anytime now. She looks like she doesn't necessarily want to return to work anytime soon.

Ronon and Teal'c share a breakfast table in the mess hall. Ronon has had too much espresso.

Ronon and Teal'c beat each other to a pulp to "blow off steam". We come into their sparring match after one hour (according to Shep) and Carter breaks it up. Seems like something got cut out here, like something was missing.

Ronon and Teal'c go to Earth (sounds like a SciFi original movie). They spend the night at the Midway Hotel, which is invaded by terrorists Wraith.

The Wraith roll a beach ball through the gate and the SGC goes to sleep. Ronon and TEal'c follow the Wraith to the SGC where they engage in much showing off of muscles and fighting/shooting skillz.

Shep and lots of soldiers go to Midway where all the soldiers get killed. Kavanagh is bored by the script and falls asleep faints, thus saving his own life. There is lots more shooting, hollaring, ending in the usual "self-destruct activated".

Midway goes the way of every other interesting ship on SGA - boom!

Ronon has his interview and is hired.

Ronon and Teal'c are BFF!

The End.

Teal'c with longer hair! Long haul from his bald, shaved hair (SG-1) days. ;)
I noticed TPTB kept the grey spot in his hair, too. But I had wondered if after the Wraith *wraithed* him, if some more grey hairs might start showing up next time around...

yeppers! and don't forget the look on Sam's face too... (Amanda had a baby too during part of SG-1)... but she came back full time.

Rodney's frustrated/angry/half-crazed gibberish babbling @ Dr. Lee and crew in the back of the puddle jumper. If the scientists were driving Rodney crazy, no wonder Shep hid in the front.

That's exactly what I was thinking, too... poor Shep! totally exhausted, too and having to listen to all of that... "good-nite guys!!" ...doors close. :D

I like how they started out showing the differences between Teal'C and Ronan instead of just playing up how similar they seem at a quick glance.

Action = awesome. End of story.

Overall, this episode was on par with BAMSR and Season 4 continues to be the best of SGA and honestly, it's probably been my favorite of both SG-1 and SGA too.

I'm not saying it is a bad thing. But the plot isn't sufficiently fleshed out sine it left so many doors opened. Until it connects then I'll say it's thoroughly satisfied it's plot content. The storyline was great and entertaining.

Yay! I thoroughly enjoyed that.

I admit that my opinion may be slightly colored by how much I didn't care for the last few episodes so that any improvement could have me jumping for joy but, regardless, it was fun.

It wasn't perfect, the hostility from Ronan towards Teal'c for instance seemed somewhat forced and artificial nor could I see any real reason for it, but their interaction was the highlight of the episode for me. The tater tot and "you say that a lot" lines alone made the episode for me.

Also of note was that there was finally a team episode, even if Teyla's part was small. It was good to see everybody back in action.
