More info on ep 3 "To The Last Man""It incorporates a hospital shifting in time, a soldier named Tommy and some never-before-seen Torchwood employees."

source: latest issue of SFX Magazine

"Every year TW revives a WW1 soldier from suspended animation, waiting for the day the world needs him for a purpose they don't yet know. He is revived for a day and let out of the hub.
He is called Tommy Brockless.
Tosh looks foward to the defrosting day, and is happy to be his escort for the day.

Helen Raynor wrote the episode in order to gets Tosh to "grow up" in terms of personal relations ships since she's a bit naive."

MAJOR S2 SPOILER!"In one of the early episodes of the second series, Ianto has a meltdown in the Hub one night, for reasons far too complicated to go into here, but if you've seen it, you'll know. I have to admit it's one of my favourite episodes to date. Anyway, while Jack comforts Ianto, he shifts from innocent consolation to a full-on, passionate embrace and kiss.
Gareth and I assumed 'the position' and went for it. The episode's director never called 'cut'. By the time Gareth and I were hitting the two-minute mark, my lips were getting numb and Gareth was getting twitchy.
'You ******!" we both yelled in unison, when we finally realized what was going on and pulled apart."

One word only: OUTTAKES *fingers crossed*

(((Reefgirl))) Maybe watching the epi you'll learn how to deal with the situation at your workplace. Hmm, after giving it more thoughts and knowing TW, you will more probably learn how not to deal with it. ;)

There were 2 mentions of Torchwood in this week's Entertainment Weekly (US magazine).

First in the "Must List - 10 Things We Love This Week":
"Torchwood, Season 1 on DVD. Imagine The X-Files if Mulder swung both ways, and you'd get this alien-chasing, bi-curious Doctor Who spin-off. Season 2 hits Jan. 26, so experiment now."

And then in the "What to Watch" section for Sunday" (spoilered just in case, but no real new information about the season premiere ep)

"You know this <i>Dr. Who</i> spin-off aims to please when the return of Capt. Jack Harkness (John Barrowman) isn't even the big news. Buffy alum James Marsters guests as Capt. John, a "Time Agent" (best not to ask) who's also Jack's shady ex. John spins a dubious story about needing to find toxic canisters, while Jack's main concern is reconnecting with his team. (There are apologies to be made when you abandon your crew for a time-traveling booty call.) With John adding such a fun, unhinged element, it's a shame these two crazy kids broke up in the first place." Grade: A-

(((Switch))) "if Mulder swung both ways"?! Priceless. http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r295/z_bicikova/smilies/torchwood/cptnjack_lol.gif Nice find BTW.

So what do we know about the second episode apart from the fact that in UK it airs this Wednesday?

Episode 2x02 Sleeper
BBC synopsis:
"When a burglary turns into a slaughter, Torchwood suspect alien involvement, Who is Beth, and can she be as innocent as she seems? However, when the investigation escalates into a city-wide assault, Captain Jack realises that the whole planet is in danger."

From SFX magazine:
"Ep 2 Sleeper - Written by James Moran, Directed by Colin Teague. Nikki Amuka-Bird guest stars in this episode.
Script editor Brian Minchin tipped us off about James Moran, having seen his movie Severance. This is James's fast, funny and thrilling first television script."

From digiguide:
"The critics have been slightly uneasy about this second episode of the second series of Torchwood. Described by some as a "enjoyable, but rather silly episode", others feel that the story starts off with the best of intentions, but veers - with scenes of torture - into schlock territory."

From Radio Times:
"The story wants to be meaningful but slaps down on the side of schlock, so what begins as an intense and claustrophobic mystery ends with violent pandemonium."

Funny report on the episode by Digital Spy. They put together 9 spoilers about the episode; 8 of them are facts, 1 is a red herring, and you have to figure out which one it is.
"Here's a few spoilers about the best Torchwood episode to date, a tale packed with horror, paranoia, pathos and an overwhelming sense of mystery. See if you can suss out the red herring spoiler from the following facts about 'Sleeper'. We won't give too much away this week, as certain elements of the story are best not known in advance.

1. A seemingly normal woman called Beth is at the centre of the bizarre slaughter of a couple of burglars.
2. A lot of savage things happen to the right forearms of certain people.
3. Jack unleashes his new chat up line: "You should come round to my house for a game of hockey sometime."
4. One of the characters utters the immortal line: "It's just a mind probe!"
5. There is a strong implication that Jack and Ianto have already slept together.
6. Something horrible happens involving a pram.
7. Captain Jack encounters a man called Gray, who was his former boss at the now defunct Time Agency and is angry that Jack stole both his money and his wife.
8. Owen appears to be a fan of Murder, She Wrote. The TV show, not the dodgy Chaka Demus and Pliers song.
9. A Weevil called Janet appears in the episode."

Lot of these were confirmed as facts by the trailers (YouTube links in the above post). I bet that the made up spoiler is no. 7, IMO it's too soon for writers to reveal the identity of the mysterious Gray/Grey

More on Sleeper

BBC Press Release: "Torchwood Declassified for this episode has a special report from the thick of the action of this explosive episode. On location in the centre of Cardiff, director Colin Teague and series producer Richard Stokes explain the complications of filming the series' biggest-ever visual effect."

It looks like we're going to see some nifty exposive FX. I might be wrong but I believe that the "biggest-ever visual effect" is gonna be the huge explosion filmed in Cardiff in July. Here is the link to Daily Mail report (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=465668&in_page_id=1770). 2 more mini-reviews of SleeperFrom Radio Times: "The shock dial has been given a hefty twist for this gory tale of alien invasion by stealth. It opens with a couple being burgled and the raiders killed. The police happily hand the case over to Torchwood when the deaths look abnormal - the injuries are extensive but there's no weapon. Captain Jack's pack take the chief suspect (an impressive Nikki Amuka- Bird) back to the Hub for interrogation. Somehow a reasoned discourse on human nature is lobbed into the mix, but it sits uneasily amid scenes of torture. The story wants to be meaningful but slaps down on the side of schlock, so what begins as an intense and claustrophobic mystery ends with violent pandemonium."

from Guardian Unlimited: "Next week's episode, Sleeper, is much darker and even better. The whole alien-invasion-as-analogy-for-terrorism thing could have been disastrous with the slightest error of judgement, but this story of alien sleeper agents lying dormant across Cardiff is tense and heartbreaking."

Opinions differ, obviously. ;)

Digital Spy's Tube talk reveals a fresh bunch of series 2 spoilers.
"Torchwood stands proudly on its own two feet and screams "Doctor Who?" with a cracking run of episodes in the coming weeks. Here's what I can tell you:

Sleeper
A possible recurring storyline begins in this week's episode, 'Sleeper'. A woman named Beth slaughters two burglars, seemingly without recollection of the incident. Torchwood soon uncovers the truth - that she is a "sleeper agent", one of several aliens who have infiltrated Earth under the guise of humans, living their lives as normal until "activation" time. Only problem is, Beth has no idea she's not human. And guess what time it is?

You go girl!
Tosh is finally getting a bit of action. She falls for a very old man indeed, but heartbreak is in store when they are cruelly ripped apart. Meanwhile her flame for Owen is still burning brightly, and we'll see more evidence of that in the coming weeks. Mine's tuna mayo, love.

Torchwood -90
Who are Gerald and Harriet? We may discover a bit more about Torchwood's past in future episodes.

Doctor Jack
Is Captain Jack becoming more like the Doctor? Episode four, about an ever-growing alien that is being harvested for its meat, brings out CJ's empathetic side. "We see enough death," he tells his team then, echoing many a Tennant scene, touches the wounded beast and enquires: "What have they done to you, my poor friend?"

They Keep Waking Tommy
Episode three introduces us to Tommy, a soldier who was cryogenically frozen by Torchwood in 1918 and has to be defrosted every year for one day only. Hence every year is like a day for Tommy, who is still the same age 90 years on - and just as clueless over why this is happening to him. Clue: that pesky rift plays a big part.

Clueless no more
Rhys finally learns the truth about who Gwen works for in episode four, then is plunged straight into the action as he goes undercover on an operation. When the time comes for him to be fed an amnesia pill, Gwen throws down an ultimatum to Captain Jack.

Who said that?
"All quiet here, just that little spike from earlier"
"Let's all have sex."
"I could murder a cup of tea."
"We know who you are, Jack Harkness."
"I catch aliens."
"This is quite homerotic."
"They're already here.""

Times Online review for ep 2 - Sleeper: "Torchwood fans are in for a treat tonight, with one of the strongest episodes to date. It begins with a burglary that has unforeseen consequences. The terrified householder slaughters both her intruders, but appears to remember nothing whatsoever about it. Nor does she begin to understand what Captain Jack is talking about when he yells at her: “Stop wasting our time! We know you’re an alien!” As it turns out, she isn’t all that she seems – but there is nothing she can do about it. As well as being funny, exciting and scary, the story touches on what it means to be human and the extent to which people are responsible for their actions."

Radio Times review for ep 3 - To The Last Man:"This sweet and sad man-out-of-time tale by Helen Raynor is a vast improvement on the gaudy opening brace of episodes.

A rift in time is causing 'ghosts' from 1918 - patients from a military hospital - to be seen in the present day. One of those patients, Tommy, was cryogenically frozen by 1918's version of Torchwood and the present-day crew subject him to his annual awakening. Tosh has already formed an attachment to the gentlemanly Tommy from his previous revivals but now falls for him big time.

It's slow but engaging, and delightfully acted by the two leads, Naoko and Anthony. When the characters come first, Torchwood really can hit the spot. "

The Stage:"Torchwood is a much more polished piece of work these days, and we can all be thankful for that. The dialogue fizzes that little bit more, the cast fire off each either with extra chemistry, and the storytelling has been tightened up nicely. What this always intriguing show doesn’t seem to be able to do is resist the temptation to turn the gore factor up in the last real. Take tonight’s episode, Sleeper. It’s a great idea, about a woman who has no memory of a murder she’s committed. It’s sensitively, quietly told and I was hooked – and then it lost me 25 minutes in by getting silly and feeling the need to throw blood around with gay abandon. I still have massively high hopes for this year’s Torchwood, and even with reservations, it’s still a massively improved show."

Spoilers for To The Last Man from Torchwood Mag: "To the Last Man - "Tosh understands so much about the toys and technology that she's got in Torchwood, but she seems quite naive in terms of personal relationships. In a way she's almost childlike, so I wanted to write a story that would grow her up a little bit." Helen Raynor"

Digital Spy teases us about To The Last Man:"Serving up a more character-based drama than the previous two episodes in the season, 'To The Last Man' revolves around a young soldier who has to play a vital role in saving mankind. Here's a few teasery spoilers, with one fake one lurking somewhere to throw you off the scent.

1) The action partially takes place at St Teilo's Military Hospital in 1918.
2) The Torchwood Institute once had people called Gerald and Harriet working for them.
3) Gwen is menaced by a one-legged man in a hospital. Very David Lynch.
4) Captain Jack has sealed orders from past Torchwood employees that can only be opened at a certain critical time.
5) Owen discovers that he is to become a father after a fling with a lady who is out of this world. Literally.
6) A blank piece of paper is deployed by Captain Jack to explain how a Time shift works.
7) Two of the Torchwood team share an almighty - distinctly non-platonic - snog.
8) Toshiko wears a dress for an important day at the office - and we get to see her flat!
9) The final shot of the episode is unbelievably moving and brilliant."

IF Magazine Interview with Eve Myles (spoilers) (http://ifmagazine.com/feature.asp?article=2618)excerpt about Freema joining the cast and Martha's involvement with TW:

"iF: How was having Miss Martha Jones [Freema Agyemen] from DOCTOR WHO joining the team this season?
MYLES: Oh Freema and I get along famously! It was an absolute joy to get some more girlies on set because it’s so male oriented. It was nice to have another girl with us and to have someone that Gwen really admires as a smart, brave modern woman. Gwen can see that she has a lot in common with her, and she’s also had a past with Jack. So Gwen is very intrigued by that because the more she can learn about Jack the better and they get along very, very well. Plus, it’s lovely to see the character of Owen being challenged by a female that is slightly better at his job than he is. "

SciFi Weekly: Interview with orchwood's John Barrowman:

Torchwood's John Barrowman debuts his autobiography Anything Goes, and sings his way to Another Side

By Ian Spelling

The latest edition of Doctor Who, which debuted in 2005, reinvented the venerable British SF program for a new generation. It proved so popular that its soon to enter its fourth season, and spinoff series Torchwood is a phenomenon unto itself. The show stars John Barrowman as Capt. Jack Harkness, a Time Agent and former companion to the ninth Doctor (Chris Eccleston), who was introduced during Doctor Who's first season. These days, Harkness has his own team of alien fighters, which includes Ianto (Gareth David-Lloyd), Owen (Burn Gorman), Gwen (Eve Myles) and Toshiko (Naoko Mori).

SCI FI Weekly recently caught up with Barrowman, who waxed enthusiastic about the Jan. 22 debut of the Torchwood: The Complete First Series DVD set, the Jan. 26 premiere of Torchwood's second season on BBC America and several other projects as well.

No need to get snippy about Mainstream U.S. audiances. I am part of that crowd and me and my wife both love the show and think Captain Jack is a great character. The problem lies with the overly religous people that cant see past thier bibles long enough to accept that there are other lifestyles out there besides their own. And those peole can be found all around the world not just the U.S.

Promo picture and synopsis for Episode 4 "Meat":"Whale meat again?
Quite an intriguing episode of the very fast-paced sci-fi drama. Somehow Gwen (Eve Myles) has managed to keep the reality of her special operations work a secret from her fiancé Rhys (Kai Owen). Not for much longer. Tonight Rhys discovers the truth about Torchwood and becomes part of the team as they investigate a mysterious alien-meat supply.

Meat? Yes, aliens are being sold for it, apparently. Very nasty. With Rhys in increasing danger, Gwen is under pressure as never before. Will Rhys go too far? Will Captain Jack (John Barrowman, who's never short of an innuendo or three) ask too much of him? And can Torchwood save the alien from being used as cheap meat?"

Synopsis AND SHORT REVIEW of Ep 4 by RadioTimes"Episode 4/13 Meat

Gwen's fiancé Rhys finally discovers what her special ops work really involves - and he wants in. As the newly bolstered Torchwood team investigate a mysterious alien meat supply, Gwen finds herself under pressure as never before. Rhys is in increasing danger. Has Jack asked too much of him? And can they save an alien being from ending up as someone's dinner?"

"RT Choice (Mark Braxton, 6 February 2008)
The human dimension of tonight's tale[…] gets another big tick in the series' plus column, with Eve Myles (Gwen) and Kai Owen (her fiancé Rhys) cutely conveying True Lies-style deceptions and repercussions.
Rather less successful is the sci-fi component[…] A shame: buried beneath the plotline is a thoughtful comment on our carnivorous ways.
A mixed grill of an episode, then. And, presiding over it all, Cap'n Jack (John Barrowman) is again let loose on innuendos that would embarrass the cast of Carry On. The hussy. "

Digital Spy has spoilers for "Meat":

"As the episode is called 'Meat', we thought we'd flesh out the number of fake spoilers as a special treat. There are now two red herrings among the following teasers about the next Torchwood episode:

1. Rhys discovers the truth about Gwen and visits the Torchwood hub.
2. Captain Jack and Gwen share a passionate snog - witnessed from afar by her fiancée.
3. The Torchwood team devour a Meat Feast pizza - but don't touch the meat.
4. Rhys plays five-a-side football and likes Danish pastries.
5. Captain Jack hands Gwen an amnesia pill to give to Rhys.
6. Jack believes that his interaction with Rhys is "homo-erotic".
7. Rhys is "retconned" and loses all memories of Torchwood after Gwen spikes his drink with a pill.
8. Jack watches Rhys and Gwen getting amorous via a CCTV camera.
9. Toshiko asks Owen out after making him a cheese and pickle sandwich.
10. Rhys is responsible for smuggling humans into an abattoir after agreeing to work for a bunch of crooks harvesting illegal meat. Gwen is furious with him.
11. Rhys takes a bullet meant for Gwen."

A source said: “The average for the slot on BBC2 is 2.8 million. Heroes averaged 2.3m so it’s doing incredibly well.” ...

Los Angeles Times has interview with RT Davies. He talks mostly about Dr Who, but there are bits about Torchwood and Sarah Jane Adventures, too.

"...If Davies regrets anything about the first season of "Torchwood," it's how fractured the dynamic among the agents got, he said. "After working on 'Doctor Who' for three years, I think we were desperate to explore adult material," Davies explains. "I think we all interpreted 'adult' as backstabbing, angst, treachery and betrayal." If the second season gets any reboot, Davies said, it's that they'll get along better.

It will help that in the season opener, they bonded in hatred over Capt. John Hart, a time agent who shares a complicated and passionate history with Jack. Much has been made of "Torchwood's" similarity to "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," which gives a seemingly layered significance to the casting of James Marsters, "Buffy's" Spike, in the role of Capt. John. But Davies said the choice was just a happy coincidence. He'd given up on finding a British actor to play the role and had temporarily scrapped the character when out of the blue Marsters' agent got in touch. Still, Sunnydale-starved viewers may have felt that they got a shout-out when Marsters, in a costume half Adam Ant and half Janet Jackson circa "Rhythm Nation," ended his first scene with the line "I'm thirsty." It's a recurring guest spot..."

Exclusive Interview: BURN GORMAN TEASES AS TO 'WHO' WILL BE ON 'TORCHWOOD' SERIES 2 (http://www.ifmagazine.com/feature.asp?article=2643)

http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r295/z_bicikova/torchwood/promos/torchwood-owen2.jpg

iF: I’ve heard hints that there might be some more DOCTOR WHO crossover villains or characters besides Martha Jones this season. Can you confirm that at all?

GORMAN: I can tell you that there are definitely, it may be for the more obsessive fans, but there are crossovers from DOCTOR WHO. Obviously, there’s Freema [Agyeman] and towards the end of the season there are some, I don’t want to say old friends, but certainly there are some familiar faces, yeah. I would say that.

iF: How was having Freema on as a part of the TORCHWOOD team?

GORMAN: She is a really lovely girl and she comes on with no airs, we all got along very well, thankfully so there was absolutely no edge to it. I think Owen was weary of having another doctor around because he hasn’t got a lot going on outside of Torchwood, especially not now. His role defines him. He certainly wouldn’t go back to the National Health Service, now that he’s obsessed with policing aliens and such. Martha comes in so confident though and she has this back story with Jack that none of them are party to, and Jack calls the shots and says she is going to hang around and use Owen’s space. She very quickly becomes involved in the autopsy room sparring with Owen over who is right. What I did like it about it, was the new girl came in and the writers didn’t have Owen fancy her from the onset. It was less spiky than I thought it might be, they weren’t getting at each other all of the time. And in the other direction it wasn’t them flirting all of the time which would get a bit creepy. You don’t want Owen to being a letch over a girl who saved the world in DOCTOR WHO. Some very interesting and intriguing things happen with Martha and Owen that are a massive storyline and will be very interesting to watch.

Review of Torchwood Magazine issue no. 1:

http://www.behindthesofa.org.uk/2008/01/contents-subjec.html

"... There are interviews with Barrowman, James Marsters, Nikki Amuka-bird & Dyfed Potter (from the episode Sleeper) and Naoko Mori along with a photographic visit to the Hub set with interjections from the designers and a play-by-play on creating the blow-fish make up. The magazine closes with a diary by Chris Chibnall in which the whole process of making the series boils down to six entries, four of which are about jollies he's gone on to sell the series. There’s even a comic strip by former DWM editor and Transformer fan god Simon Furman.

None of which is uninteresting; the interview with Marsters throws up some useful tit-bits, including that he wanted to make a prequel series to Star Trek and that he wished Spike had been more evil for longer, and there’s far more information in the making of features than usually turns up in Declassified and detailed enough to be of interest to design students. It’s also admirable that there’s such an emphasis on the series writers and the process of putting the scripts together, particular considering the production problems which dogged the first series in that regard. ..."

MediaBlvd Magazine has an interview with Burn Gorman. He talks about Owen in series 1&2 about Tosh and certain s2 guest star.

this bit made me lol ;) -non-spoilery-
"Kenn> Well, it seems like Owen was one of the few people that had a lot of snogging time; first with Gwen, then with the woman pilot from the past. You actually had a love interest twice. Is that going to continue?

Burn> I was actually as surprised as anyone else. Let’s be honest, with gorgeous looking men in terms of Jack and Ianto, I always felt that maybe they should get some of the action. I don’t see myself as that. I see myself much more as a character actor. So I wasn’t entirely comfortable with it, but I enjoyed it while it happened. I think that some of that was with Captain Jack being such a hero figure, they didn’t want to bog him down with the issue of snogging or sex or whatever. He implies it, and talks about it. But we do see more in season of two of other members of the team getting into relationships and such, but thankfully, Owen gets much less of that. I get to keep my top on!"

Episode 5 Adam PREVIEWS, REVIEWS and SPOILERS
Director: Andy Goddard, Written by Cath Tregenna

DigiGuide mini-review:"An alien in their midst?
The critics have been most impressed with this unorthodox episode of the sci-fi fantasy series. Unusually it's a little short on special effects, dashing about and knowing japes; instead the focus is on the characters themselves, which some critics have found to be a refreshing change.

A new character - Adam (Bryan Dick- is among the Torchwood team. Intriguingly they seem to regard him as a long-standing team member, but surely that's not the case? Could it be that he's an alien with the power to change people's memories? If so, it's up to the team to save themselves before it's too late.

With Captain Jack caught up in memories of his lost family, and Gwen struggling to remember Rhys, it takes Jack's love of Ianto to reveal the truth. But there's always a price to pay...

Highly recommended."

Radio Times mini-review "Episode 5/13 Adam

What's wrong with the Torchwood team? Jack has lost all his confidence, Ianto's become a murderous brute, Tosh is sexually voracious, Gwen doesn't even recognise her husband Rhys and the usually cocksure womaniser Owen has become a timid, cardigan-wearing geek. There's a new member of the team too - but everyone is treating him as if they've known him for years…
RT Choice (Mark Braxton, 13 February 2008)

Those expecting special effects ?* gogo, or the usual up-tempo japes, may feel short-changed; others who like their drama - even their sci-fi - to be character-centred, won't. The back story for Captain Jack is especially rewarding. And if the plot doesn't make complete sense, there's plenty to compensate. It's taken a while but now, at last, we really care. Hurrah! "

Digital Spy's usual "spoiler party":
"This absorbing episode, very Buffyesque in its storyline, continues the remarkable improvement of Torchwood in its second series. In honour of its quality, we present a mammoth three fake spoilers amongst the following snippets of information about 'Adam':"1. Ianto confesses to Jack that he has murdered three women in the past.
2. The central villain has a hairstyle seemingly taken, follicle by follicle, from one hit wonder Chesney Hawkes.
3. Captain Jack's younger brother is the most wanted criminal in the universe.
4. Rhys subjected Gwen to his garlic breath during their first ever kiss.
5. Jack is taken back to the Boeshane Peninsula.
6. Tosh snogs a member of the Torchwood team and drops a bombshell - her favourite sandwiches are smoked salmon. That's one very high maintenance lady.
7. Owen is called a 'small rodent' by Tosh.
8. Susie Costello is back for a very brief cameo - and is killed yet again!
9. Ianto catches Jack snogging Gwen on CCTV.
10. Gwen pulls a gun on Rhys and threatens to shoot him.
11. Ianto's ex girlfriend Lisa pops up.

Digital Spy has also several quotes from the episode: "Who Said That?
1. "You have picked the wrong girl to stalk, mate."
2. "I love him, but not in the way I love ***."
3. "It was the worst day of my life. It's the **** ***** I **** ** ********."
4. "I wouldn't let you out of my sight because I love you."
5. "Who the hell is this?"
6. "You're not my ****. Never will be."

io9 has major spoilers (You have been warned) "Torchwood spoilers: A memory-altering creep named Adam joins the team and makes everyone believe he's always been there. He also makes Tosh think she's a cleavage-flashing bimbo who's dating him. Also, Gwen forgets Rhys, and Owen believes he's a dork. (So, not much change there.) When Ianto realizes his paper diary doesn't mention Adam, the psycho gives Ianto false memories of being a serial killer. Jack finally figures it out and stops Adam, and everybody gets their real memories back. We glimpse a super-cheesy vision of Jack's childhood. Gwen remembers Rhys, but declares she doesn't love him as much as she loves Jack. (WTF?)"

"... writing for Torchwood is a “very liberating” experience.

“There is no bible at all. I said to Russell T Davies when I first met him I felt agoraphobic because I didn’t have the limitations and boundaries of, say, being in an emergency ward.

“The danger, however, is sometimes just sticking to a guest story in that episode and having the Torchwood team reacting to it. The best episodes are where they are personally on some sort of journey.

“I have noticed in this series how Torchwood can hold different genres, so you can have a very character-driven episode followed by an action alien invasion episode but it all holds together quite well.”

Tregenna will be giving an insight into the world of writing for television – and some insider information on Torchwood – when she speaks during the Ffresh Festival at Aberystwyth Arts Centre this Thursday."

...“The unsung hero is the script editor. I have worked with Helen Raynor who also writes for Torchwood and Brian Minchin and they will help you with the overall continuity of the character’s voice, for example they will say Ianto has a very dry sense of humour, so don’t be afraid to give him the very dark gags,” she says of Torchwood."

"Torchwood is getting its own figures- they will be 7" scale unfortunately, but will include Jack, some of the monsters (including Weevil). The rest of team will not be in the first wave.

There are no classic Dr. Who figures shown yet at Toy Fair this year; Underground was not allowed to display them, but more are coming. First wave will incldue the 4th, 5th, and 6th Doctors. And the Rose/ Chip 2-pack will be rereleased for those who missed out the first time.

Dr. Who Mini=Mates were shown, including the 9th & 10th Doctors, Martha, Cyberman, Cyber controller. Dr Who Jack (10th Dr.) will have two versions.

Torchwood on UK iTunes?

"The BBC today confirmed earlier reports that it would distribute its televised content on the UK iTunes store, offering an initial selection of episodes from seven different series. The selection includes several episodes from the raunchy, but popular Doctor Who spinoff, Torchwood, and MI5 spy drama Spooks, as well as the offbeat crime series, Life On Mars. Most of the unveiled content goes for £1.89, with a few exceptions.

Content from Little Britain, The Catherine Tate Show, The Mighty Boosh, Little Britain, and Two Pints of Lager & a Packet of Crisps were also released. Other titles are expected to follow.

Neither Apple nor the BBC commented whether it would bring the content to international music stores."

Digital Spy has interview with Freema Agyeman. Contains TW s2 and DW s4 spoilers.

How did [Martha] get the job at UNIT? It's said that she was recommended by a "highly impeccable source".
"The fact that it was the Doctor? Thing is, when I go back into Doctor Who and the Doctor and Martha meet up again, they do talk about the fact that she's worked at UNIT. So it is re-iterated and explained more. But it was him that got her the job there, yeah."
...
How does she come to join Torchwood though?
"Well, Jack has called her in, basically. A lot is left for the viewer to deduce and you don't get the impression that Jack and Martha have been in touch loads, but you do get the impression that they know how to get hold of one another. We learn at the beginning that he's called her up to come in and help with this investigation because she's got some further information that could help them solve their mystery. So she arrives to become part of the team for a bit."

Does she have the hots for Captain Jack? She seems to probe Ianto for information!
"I think it's just more of an interest really. Jack is this very sexual person and all throughout Doctor Who last year he kept flirting with her and making these innuendos but she finds him harmless and entertaining. He is a good-looking, sexy man. But I think it's playful fun. She wants to know more, they all want to know more. All of the Torchwood team are always asking each other about him, who he is and where he came from. Even Martha, after all she's been through with him, nearly coming to the end of the world together, is now trying to fill in the in-betweens and find out more about his personal life."

Digital spy has spoilers for Reset:

Martha Jones is back in Cardiff equipped with her medical knowledge, but can you correctly diagnose the two fake spoilers amongst the following hints about what lies ahead...

1) The Weevils are back.
2) Margaret Slitheen makes an appearance.
3) Looking into the eyes of a corpse can help solve a mystery.
4) Captain Jack refers to Harold Saxon.
5) Martha Jones tells Professor Copley: "Oh my God, you look just like Jim Robinson from Neighbours!" He replies: "Yeah, I get that a lot."
6) Toshiko is momentarily turned into a giant gnat.
7) Jack wants Martha to give Ianto a UNIT outfit.
8) Owen agrees to go on a date - but will it be with Martha or Toshiko?
9) There is a shock ending.

Radio Times mini review of Reset:
Captain Jack enlists the help of The Doctor's former sidekick Martha Jones (Freema Agyeman) to investigate a series of mysterious deaths. When the trail leads to a sinister medical testing centre, Martha must go undercover. But has Jack underestimated how far those at the centre are prepared to go in their search for medical breakthroughs?

RT Choice (Mark Braxton, 20 February 2008)

Torchwood has raised its game dramatically in recent weeks, and those who've stuck with it are being rewarded…

Agyeman illuminates the Hub with her instant likeability - her flirty familiarity with Jack is especially appealing - and there's some cute awkwardness between Tosh and Owen.

Digital spy has huge spoilers for Dead Man Walking

Click only if you know what happened at the end of Reset (you have been warned)This week on Torchwood, it's the team's darkest hour yet:

http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r295/z_bicikova/torchwood/promos/550_tubetalk_torchwood_s02e07.jpg

After last week's final minute shocker, there are two things you need to know:

1. Owen IS dead.
2. Owen is not off the team.... yet.

I'll refrain from saying much more because this is an episode you really need to see for yourselves but I will let Freema Agyeman (Martha Jones) loose to do a bit of teasing:

Is that the end of Owen?
"Haha... I'm not giving that away, Neil! Obviously there are huge repercussions with what's happened. It's a direct continuation [in episode seven] but I really don't want to give too much away because it's quite a surprise. I will say it's sort of concluded after episode seven - not concluded but that particular story has found some sort of conclusion - then episode eight you're looking at a brand new mystery. I'll leave you to see that because it shocks all of us. Go watch it, go watch it!"

There's more from Freema, by the way, in our exclusive interview - including some hints on her reunion with The Doctor!

Would Owen be a sad loss to the team? Should Martha be a permanent addition?

(((LaCroix))) re Owen: Burn Gorman said in his recent interview for Newsarama that he will be back for season 3 of TW

Quote:
"NRAMA: Would you love to have a career path like his?

BG: Well, at the moment I’m in England getting ready for the National Theater. That’s my next job. So I’m getting ready to do some classical theater. Then I’m going to do a BBC 4 thing about comedians in the 60s. Then back to doing Torchwood season three for BBC 2. I’m lucky in that I’m able to do very different parts, whether it’s film or whatever is around.

This is why I’m wary of getting identified with one particular character. The more popular Torchwood becomes, then I have to see where it goes. I do like to be as anonymous as possible. I want to be able to do very varied roles and have been lucky enough to do that. Although I do admit I would like to come to the U.S. and do some Who conventions, just to see what they are like."

So no worries. And I really don't believe that they would have zombie!Owen to stay for another season. :)

he can come to Atlanta any time.. he can come this year if he wants... then i'll most definately by a con pass for TimeGate :p

Burn Gorman's interview for Newsarama:

"BG: It’s only when we go out we find out how passionate people are; especially Torchwood. It was kind of an experiment. It really is a standalone. We thought that was going to how it would be accepted. We know we have links with Doctor Who, but it’s kind of Star Trek-like. In the States, we know that’s how it’s been accepted.

NRAMA: Now pardon me for saying so, but I really thought the first season of Torchwood was truly uneven. I thought there were some wonderful episodes, like “Out of Time,” but the ending for “Cyberwoman” was bad, really bad.

BG: Absolutely. I agree with you. My feeling is they didn’t know, they weren’t sure, about the world of Torchwood. They knew it was an Earth-based organization; alien hunters, and finding out about alien technology, and based in Cardiff. But they were not sure about the dynamics of the team. We went in blind with very little information on our end apart from Jack and the Doctor, and they were sort in the backstory.

I think one thing was the first season kind of dwelt too much on the team’s shortcomings as opposed to the team working together, although that was interesting in the end. This led to inconsistencies that became slightly jarring. I think we really tried to address that since then."

...

"Another thing is I just wish other members of the cast are forced to get their kit off like I had to in the first season. To be honest, I’m absolutely thankful that Owen got to keep his clothes on this entire season. I mean Captain Jack is supposed to be this gorgeous god. I think more people would like to see him around without his clothes than Owen. [laughs]"

An Interview with 'Torchwood' star Gareth David-Lloyd

Eariler this week, I was fortunate enough to speak with Torchwood
star Gareth David-Lloyd (who plays Secretary/Field Agent/Love
Interest/Incredibly Dapper Dresser Ianto Jones) about music, why the
team at Torchwood 3 are so friendly with each other, and things we
can look forward to in future episodes.

It's a great interview, morjana. When I read it yesterday, it occurred to me, how GDL is open and honest when giving interviews (almost too open and too honest) and how the interviewers prod him mercilessly for more info and more spoilers and he almost always ends up saying too much (probably more than he intended and def more than the other cast members - John, Burn, Naoko and Eve). :)

SyFy Portal has interview with Freema Agyeman:

..., beginning with the sixth episode of “Torchwood,” the now fully qualified Dr. Martha Jones will take on the weird, the wacky and the paranormal from Cardiff Bay as part of Team Torchwood. But don’t expect to see a darker Martha, especially since the BBC believes she’ll attract a slightly younger audience.

"They are very mindful that I’ll be going between the two shows," Agyeman said. "We know Martha has a large youth following so we’ve been mindful that we’re not having sex or swearing in case some of the younger fans tune in. Even though there is a pre-watershed edit we can’t control who will tune in."

...

When she joined the series, Agyeman felt she had a good idea of what to expect with regards to production, writing and acting – unfortunately she wasn’t quite prepared for John “The Prankster” Barrowman who welcomed her to the series in his own special way. And he did it with a song.

“There is always something with John, but half of it is rude so I won’t go into it,” Agyeman said with a laugh. “I don’t know anyone with such a natural energy like him. For my first day he prepared a lovely song about Martha preaching about The Doctor and traveling the world. And then after a year she was doing it with a banjo. They are all just so witty on the show with a lot of laughter on the set and I feel so fortunate to be a part of it.”

About.com has a lengthy interview with Naoko Mori

".... in "Meat" [2x04] Toshiko had totally forgotten about Tommy, and was starting to moon over Owen.

Oh, I know. She is a little bit desperate.

Was the overt crush on Owen something that you saw coming, or did it just crop up recently?

Well she's always had a crush on Owen, I think, which certainly was there a bit in the first series. I think she's always had a soft spot there. And in a way it's probably less of a romantic thing -- well, she probably thinks it's less of a romantic thing. She really wants someone to connect with, as we all do. As a colleague and a friend I think she really does care for him. And he does for her.

But I think she's definitely got a kind of crush on him. And it comes and goes. She's a very logical person, so she's probably thinking, "Oh no, this can't be right, it probably won't work" -- they're very different personalities -- but at the same time she feels like they would be perfect for each other. Who else can she share her life with, who understands Torchwood?

And there's something under Owen's bluff exterior, I think, that maybe only Toshiko can see.

Yes, absolutely. And he's not a bad guy, and she recognizes that, and it's almost like she holds onto that. He can be sort of gritty. But I think as a whole everyone's getting on much better this season as far as the characters are concerned. It's a lot warmer and friendlier, whereas the first season we were so catty with each other. But that's normal too, because if you're with someone 24/7, like family, you are going to go through that. You can argue and disagree and have a bad time with these people because you're close and love and care for each other. "

talks of Janto, DW, and GDL's music career, with mentions of S3 of TW

: So you weren’t in a place where you needed to be educated about it. One thing we found really interesting is that there are a lot of female fans who are really into the idea of two men being together romantically. Do you have a lot of female fans that are pushing for a relationship between Jack and Ianto?
GDL: Oh, definitely. I try to stay clear away from the Internet, but you find yourself reading fan fiction and it takes up a lot of time. Yeah, absolutely. That’s definitely one of the biggest questions for fans as far as Janto. Everyone’s for Jack and Ianto to get together.

AE: We know Torchwood has been commissioned for a third series – congrats on that. A reader asks, If you could have a wish list of one thing that you would want to happen with Ianto on series three, what would that be?
GDL: I haven’t really thought of it actually. Maybe a surfacing of some more depth of darkness and anguish – that would be quite fun to play.

enjoy!

Those rumors are the stupidest claims I've heard in a while, and no channel other than SciFi is that stupid.

While it is probable that the Doctor will regenerate, the Torchwood rumors don't make sense. A channel would not retool a highly rated show for no apparent reason, not with the ratings and appreciation scores Torchwood has been getting.

The writer just needed to meet a deadline.

If any of those rumours about Torchwood are true, I may just flip my lid! Restyling a show can have disastrous effects upon it's future success. Especially in the capacity this is suggesting. It's true I had some initial qualms about some of the cast, but now I'm fully into their team dynamic an individual contributions. I like them more each time. Change that too much and the system falls apart. It's similar to many comments about Stargate Atlantis of late.

And then there's the suggestion of kicking the show down to a family level on a permanent basis! Um..NO! For the kiddy kids it's Sarah Jane, for the family it's Doctor Who, and for the mature it's Torchwood. This construct works. To alter it would be a disaster. I love that TW is dark, thematically brave and morally realistic. I like the odd sexual reference and crude language, it all adds to the success of the show. Knock it back to a level that kids and families can enjoy and you lose the very core of why Torchwood was created.

Granted cast members are going to eventually seek other work and wish to move on, but the key to keeping the ball in the game is to make it work! Hell, SG-1 did it for ten years, and through all the ups and downs, the ins and outs, it worked, and it was great. All thanks to a dedicated cast and crew and producers.

Russell T better not ruin the franchise with such drastic decisions, or else award-winning British sci-fi will be gone as quickly as it came.

MORI: I love Tosh and I love playing Tosh and sometimes I look at her and wanna kick her because she is saying and doing things I don’t agree with. It’s all part and parcel with her and it’s what makes Tosh, Tosh. I think what happens with people who have been very academic tend to let their personal life fall by the wayside because they’re concentrating so much and I think that’s typical of being that kind of person. She’s a late bloomer and perhaps she is now going through, not really puberty or her teenage years, but she is developing and coming out of her shell like we all do in life. On top of those, there’s also James Marsters, who will be ending the evening by giving a live concert.

Torchwood Easter: "Out Of The Rain" and "Adrift"

The BBC Press Office today confirms that we'll be getting an additional helping of Torchwood this Easter - as two episodes air during the television week of 15th till the 21st March. On the 19th, viewers can catch "Out of the Rain" on BBC Two - and two days later, Good Friday, the next episode "Adrift" follows!

The synopsis for "Out of the Rain" reads: "When an old cinema re-opens, past horrors emerge to stalk the streets of Cardiff. As bodies are found, in a state between life and death, Torchwood must act fast. Who are the Night Travellers? And how can Torchwood capture these mysterious killers?"

Meanwhile, here's what you need to know about "Adrift": "When a local teenager disappears, Gwen is drawn into an investigation that reveals a darker side of Torchwood. Hundreds of people have disappeared without trace, but Jack is obstructing attempts to find them. The answer seems to lie in the rift – literally – and as Gwen follows the trail, she makes a shocking discovery."

The fact that two episodes are airing so close to one another has lead some internet forums to speculate that the show may be taking a one week break from our screens (possibly due to a sporting event) or the show could be wrapping up a week earlier than expected, in anticipation of Doctor Who's fourth season return."

Starlog Online has an interview with visual FX supervisor Dave Houghton and visual FX producer Will Cohen, who discuss working on Torchwood and Doctor Who at:

http://www.starlog.com/fearful_feature.php

A brief excerpt:

STARLOG: How has the first season of TORCHWOOD worked out?

HOUGHTON: There are a certain amount of production pains in ramping up a new series. We started late, and then we sat down to discuss it without seeing a script, which was a problem. It’s like saying to an architect, “How much is it going to cost to build a house?” There isn’t a plan to assess that, so we sat down and discussed the broad themes.

I think TORCHWOOD was supposed to be a much more psychological drama than it ended up being.

COHEN: It’s a good amount of work, but it’s maybe 20 shots instead of 100.
Given the nature of how TORCHWOOD has evolved, it’s actually a unique British television show.

I still hold some hope, just some that this is all deliberate to have fandom riled up, nothing says ratings grab more then getting fans riled up for a finale!

Also given one of Doctor Who's major characters (Rose) exit was hardly a secret in the end I think Torchwood would leak more then Doctor Who and so far I haven't read any spoilers that I find convincing the way I found Rose leaving to be... if that makes sense.

Then again this is scifi (no one ever dies in scifi ), this is Torchwood (and really no one of importance so far has died for ever! Not even Suzie! :P) and bloody Russell has said before that he likes to shake things up, no one is safe and all that... blah, blah insert normal producers reactions to finales.
it is going to be a long week! :(

Also have we, when will we know about a series 3? Shouldn't they have started filming by now?! :S

John Barrowman's doing another of those talent show things, so I don't think filming will start for a while yet, anyway. It's why this season was so delayed.

Radio 4 to air one-off 'Torchwood'

"A one-off special of Torchwood is being made to air on BBC Radio 4 in the summer.

The 45-minute show is written by Joseph Lidster, who penned a recent television episode and is behind much of the BBC's online Doctor Who content.

Stars including John Barrowman will feature and the Torchwood team will produce along with BBC Wales's Kate McAll.

Airing as Radio 4's Afternoon Play, it has been planned to coincide with the opening of the world's biggest particle accelerator in Switzerland.

Lidster is working the story around a particle accelerator, according to Broadcast."

IF magazine has an interview with Gareth David-Lloyd. You can read it here (http://www.ifmagazine.com/feature.asp?article=2719). season 2 spoilers

"iF: Were you a DOCTOR WHO fan or a Science Fiction fan before you joined TORCHWOOD?

DAVID LLOYD: I was a big STAR TREK fan in my teenage years. I’ve got every single NEXT GENERATION episode on long play VHS around here somewhere. [Laughs] When I was younger, there was a big break for us in the UK when DOCTOR WHO wasn’t on, so I wasn’t a collector of the old episodes. I did get into it when it started again with Christopher Eccelston a few years back."

I think the biggest challange that the BBC and RTD will have are the Torchwood list groups, Usenet, and imdb boards with episode 13. Any news ringing true about the rumours will hit well before the episode is shown on BBCA, which may turn away the viewers here.

With what only, an hour and a half away, we shall see what we shall see.

ETA: I might also turn away some viewers in the UK too.

More Season 2 finale spoilers in Chris Chibnall's interview for Digital spy:

"Chris Chibnall talks 'Torchwood', 'L&O: London'

This Friday it's the biggie. The much-anticipated season finale of Torchwood. As I told you last week, it's a very upsetting but excellently-crafted episode that everyone is bound to have their own take on. You really wouldn't thank me if I told you any more - avoid any rumours you may hear elsewhere - so I won't. However, this edition we hear from someone who is perhaps more qualified to do the teasing. Chris Chibnall, lead writer on Torchwood and executive producer of the new London-set Law & Order spinoff, tells us what to expect in the finale.

Coming into the finale, what does Captain John want?
"I would say John wants to get back at Jack. It kind of stems from the moment in episode one, 'Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang', when John discovers that Jack can live forever. The way James Marsters played that scene was really interesting and it was slightly different from what was on the page. Instead of being furious and bemused, he was hurt and affronted. I love that: he plays that scene as if Jack's immortality was a kind of personal insult to him, which it sort of is. So at the end of episode twelve, it's clear that he's come back to get his own back. There's a line he has at the beginning of episode 13 - 'you were very rude to me' - which is the impetus to start the story rolling there."

Was the character of Captain John conceived before you signed up James Marsters?
"We had the character in mind, in a very brief kind of 'there's another time agent' as a one or two sentence description. We had that idea knocking around in series one but never quite got round to it, for various reasons. Then when [James] got in touch with Russell [T Davies] about appearing, we put two and two together and said 'Imagine if you got him playing that character'. So that was all thought about before I wrote the script for episode one. I wrote the script for him, we sent it off, and essentially got agreement straight away."

How do you write a character for James Marsters? He's obviously a cult legend from his days on Buffy...
"You don't really think about that. You're always thinking about the character, so what the show needed - and what Captain Jack needed - was a proper nemesis, somebody to really test him, to push him, and to reveal something about Jack's character. And also show what's great about Jack. In seeing John you see the way Jack could have gone, and probably did, for a little while. Jack, in his experiences with the Doctor and Torchwood, made a very conscious decision to move away from that behaviour."

The seeds for the finale were set right back in the season opener, then revisited again in 'Adam', and throughout. Is it important to have a 'Big Bad' each season?
"I think it's useful in getting a sense that the series is building and has momentum, and also it serves a reward for regular viewers. What you don't want to compromise is your standalone stories, because Torchwood is absolutely designed to be 13 standalone episodes that you can dip into, not really knowing anything about the previous weeks. However, what you occasionally want to do is reward the people who are there every week and play out emotional stories that you can't deal with and close down in 50 minutes. The best series do it that way. My taste is very much standalone stories that resonate with character arcs."

Digital spy has an exclusive post-Exit Wounds interview with Naoko Mori massive spoilers for Exit Wounds

Tosh in s3?

All this said, do you think the team will be using the glove on Tosh next series?
"Hahaha! I hope so. Never say never. There has been talk and we've kind of left that open and in the air. It would be nice, wouldn't it?"

Would you want to go back? It's kind of been wrapped up as it is.
"Torchwood has been the most phenomenal experience for me, as a person and as an actor. It's certainly changed my life! I would never say no to [going back], but as I've always said, I want to make sure it's done for the right reason. It all depends on the story and should not just for the sake of it. If they do then I'm sure it will be, because it's Russell and the great team of writers he has. We'll just have to see, I guess. Would people want to see that happen?"

....

What's next for you now?
"Well, there's a couple of things. There's two projects in the States I'm waiting to hear on and I also have a theatre project in Japan. I'm trying to work out which way to go and sod's law, things clash. So who knows, maybe there'll also be a fleeting visit to Torchwood in the next series?"

just watched Exit Wounds... was stoic throughout it all tiol the end... Tosh's little easter egg almost made me cry! it certainly broke my heart! oh Tosh, you more than did alright!!

also, until i get a definitive answer with atleast three proofs on s3, i'm gonna keep speculating on cast :p Jack, Ianto, and Gwen will defo be back..
as well as bringing Martha in as a perminant replacement for Owen... i have a feeling PC Andy might be getting a promotion... John will definately be back for an episode or two or three... and possibly a regular of perminant add-on for s4.... i have a feeling Martha will bring someone with her from UNIT to cover Tosh's station, maybe... I mean Jack, Ianto, and Martha all know their way around advanced/alien tech, but TOsh was a true genius, and there's no way Jack would have time to be boss and technician at the same time, even if Ianto helps him with the admin....

as an afterthought, am i moving too fast? i mean s2 has barely ended.... :p

Ok, apparently I've read a different set of rumors (mostly from Outpost Gallifrey): (Beware a Doctor Who spoiler as well.)

Season 3 has supposedly been confirmed by Barrowman's book. Additionally, the guy from Buffy (I didn't watch it), Masterson I believe, has confirmed that he will be back next year, so Season 3 looks good.

Barrowman has also said that he is willing to stay for several years or as long as the show will have him, so I don't see him leaving or letting anyone reduce him to a reoccuring role, which isn't going to happen. :)

I, too, keep hearing that Martha is replacing Owen, which does make sense, but I've also heard that Mickey (yes, Rose's Mickey) will likely replace Tosh.

Noel Clarke has hinted at possible appearances in Torchwood, which make sense since his character is a computer hacker.

If these rumors are true, the BBC can't announce Season 3 of Torchwood yet without giving away at least a small part of the end of Series 4 Who.

I wouldn't fret. Torchwood will be back.

i see what you mean....if Mickey's supposed to replace tosh, then that means they found a way to get back, since he too was trapped in the parallel world.... and that he decided to stay which could mean that Rose decided to stay too... plus, at the end of s2 of DW, both Mickey and Rose were working for the parallel TW... this has many possibilities....

While I wouldn't mindMartha (Freema) coming back, she's already been, I hope to hell they keep Mickey away (Noel). Now no offence to the actor, but Torchwood, if these rumours are true, will become just another version of Doctor Who. YMMV.

Also, I have to wonder, if JB recieves a much better offer from another source, would he return.

Martha doesn't have the raw, gutsy, no nonsense attitude for Torchwood, but at least her skill is half-way believable. Unlike the case of Mickey, I think I'd rather gouge my eyes out with a teaspoon than see that girl join Torchwood. They might as well give Donna Noble or Jackie Tyler a job there! I really highly doubt that they will go PG. They have a PG show and that is DW. 'Torchwood' revs up for a fine end to the season

I'll have more to say about "Torchwood" next week, as the show heads into the closing episodes of its bracing second season.

But I just wanted to alert casual viewers of the show to the fact that the next two episodes of "Torchwood" are particularly excellent and very much worth checking out.

The April 12 episode, in which we learn a lot more about how all the team members joined the Torchwood organization, is one of my all-time favorite outings. And don't forget, the season finale on April 19 features the return of James Marsters as Captain John Hart, Captain Jack's frenemy/nemesis/ex-whatever. I haven't seen that episode yet but I'm very keen to see what saucy chaos occurs in the finale.

yea... kinda figured you wouldn't order from there what with shipping handling... i knew the colour in my mind, and i could have made a colour swatch in Photoshop or some other, but actually finding the proper colour wool is near impossible unless you know exactly what you're looking for... really any kind of art/crafts supply.... and that's me! the internet hound... if i can't find, then it doesn't exist on the internet... simple as that :p

Davies rubbishes 'influential gay' title.....

"I mean I hope, I think, I do good work and I’ll be very visible as a gay man because I think that’s very important, but in terms of being influential when there are people out there fighting for changes in the law, homophobia in schools. That’s influence."

Torchwood is certainly in your face with it. I dislike seeing heteros tramp it up and I dislike seeing gay people tramping it up, too. S1 was over the top in that regard, imo. Yes, it's an adult show. but geez! S2 toned it down but still with only one real instance of sweaty bodies heaving. There're other realities to love, between whatever sexes or whatever species:P that go beyond sex. A kiss, a dinner, a glance, a fight, an 'I love you'... Forget the 'I love you'. Jack/Ianto/Gwen/Rhys is just too disturbing a foursome to consider anyone loving anyone except Rhys loving Gwen and Ianto loving Jack.

The Argus has an interview with John Barrowman. [entirely spoiler-free :(]

...

The role he is probably most proud of is the one which brought him into millions of households across the country: Torchwood's Captain Jack.

"He gets to do everything I want to do in real life," says Barrowman. "It's a dream role that was written for me. I thought he would just be in the first five Dr Who episodes.

"I still get a great thrill when people ask me for an autograph and say how much they love the character.

"People accept the fact Jack is omnisexual. It is about time we had a character like that.

"It is also the first time we have had a show like this, where the hero is played by a gay man. Science-fiction is notorious for breaking barriers."

Here is the second part of our interview with Naoko Mori, who plays Tosh on TORCHWOOD.

In part one, Naoko Mori talked about Tosh’s evolution this last season, her doomed love life, how she first heard about Doctor Who, what originally made her want to become an actor, and much more.

In part two, Naoko Mori touches on the dramatic ending of Tosh, her future projects, her dream role, and more.

I know who is bringing him to the US for Comic Con. I'm leaving for London in a couple days and don't have time to check before I go but if you PM me to remind me then when I return to the US after May 5th I can see if the Comic Con folks have any details on Dragon Con.

For Comic Con I can tell you he will be down in the exhibit hall at one of the dealer booths near the SciFi Channel booth. The day is not set yet but will be soon, anyone wanting that info just needs to let me know and I will pass it on as soon as it is available. He might be part of the Torchwood panel at Comic Con but that is not a definite yet.

BBC America content comes to U.S. iTunes Store

BBC on Tuesday announced that BBC America programming is available for purchase and download through the iTunes Store in the United States.

BBC America’s programming on iTunes begins with Torchwood, a spinoff of the BBC’s popular Doctor Who series; the comedy sketch series Little Britain; and the medieval action series Robin Hood.

Each series is available either per episode for $1.99 each, or per season. The U.S. iTunes Store’s coverage begins with Robin Hood Series (Season) 2; Little Britain Series 3 and Torchwood Series 2.

BBC sees strong sales through iTunes Store US:
Torchwood and Little Britain lead BBC TV show sales in the US

The BBC is off to an incredibly strong start as it begins selling selected TV shows through iTunes in the US.

BBC America began selling TV series in the US this week, launching with the following titles: Torchwood, Little Britain and Robin Hood. It appears the content has struck a nerve in the US, with the BBC now seizing three of the top ten TV seasons places on the iTunes Store in the US.

Torchwood is at numbers four (series two) and five (series one) on the top ten list while Little Britain takes third place in Apple’s own top ten, which is itself generated on the basis of sales.

Interestingly, none of the BBC’s TV shows have ranked among the top ten series in terms of individual episodes, suggest that the US audience, at least, is purchasing entire series of the BBC shows - clearly a very strong start.

Finally I found rumours about season 3 that I like. ;)

"Torchwood series 3 has already been commissioned by the BBC, and is due to start early in 2009. All of the main cast except Naoko Mori have signed contracts to appear in it (including Burn Gorman, interestingly).

Edit: more news on Torchwood series 3. James Marsters, has apparently been asked to appear in series 3 and has agreed. He also reckons that the series will be the full 13 episodes and not 6 as rumoured in some quarters (this comes from a reported conversation with James Marsters at a "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" convention).

Last Sunday RTD confirmed there would be a season 3 and that John Barrowman would be in every episode. The rumour about him leaving is just a rumour started by a poster on SyFyPortal who claims to be a BBC insider (ri-ight).
Noako (Tosh) has left but it's unknown whether Burn (Owen) is returning or not."

I got them on this LJ site (http://kel-reiley.livejournal.com/33182.html). And as I said above they are just rumours. I'm not claiming that what's written above is actually going to happen. But after all those reports of short Jack-lite season I needed to find some positive predictions for the next series.

I just wish that this bunch got confirmed.

I am quite sure he loves Torchwood since it is truly his baby ;)Well he talks about Doctor Who and it is screening now, so yeah I don't think that is why.:S Besides what is the problem with RTD saying, yes it will be back and yes Gwen, Ianto and Jack will be in it, and yes it will be keeping in line with it's adult content?

That is all I want to know. ;) That is all most of us really want to know right now.
