For some reason I thought that they were just the front view of the standard missiles. But you may be right, except I'd figure to have seen more shots like these if the prometheus or later battleships had energy weapons.

Hard to tell from my avi of that episode or youtube about smoke trails, and without shields 2 hits should be sufficient to destroy a ship of that size. But don't you agree it is strange we have seen no decent shots of energy weapons firing if we actually do have them installed.

Thor said that he was going to "install Asgard designed shields and weapons on Prometheus" cant remember what episode that was though. Perhaps these are the weapons he was talking about then.

I don't rememebr any talk of weapons. I thought uneneding was the first weapons we were given from them. Plus asgard energy weapons are blue not yellow like from the prometheus.

Thor said he was gonna install Asgard shield & weaps on Prometheus in "Disclosure" (617) when he arrives and Hammond thanks him for coming.
The thingies fired at the Al'kesh (was the episode where the Trust tried to make USA & Russia go to war ("Full Alert" 814)) are most likely energy weapons, they don't look like missiles at all (ever seen a missile glow when looking it coming at you ?).

No matter what angle one looks at a missile (in space especially) is the yellow expulsion.

Well, it really didn't look like other shots of missiles we saw in the show.
                    Probably a CG goof

Although it does look like some kind of an energy weapon, we know that they didn't have anything like that until unending. So I guess it's just a cgi thing.

There should be no question about it. It is a missile. You can clearly see the body of the missile even in this crappy resolution. The thing that looks like an energy blob behind it is the propulsion system firing. Whoever thinks its an energy weapon, go rewatch Full Alert from Season 8, because that's what episode this screen cap is from.
