    The Man From Earth

So I just saw this really good direct-to-dvd movie called "The Man From Earth" which is basically about this guy who tells his colleagues that he is essentially immortal (he's been around for 14,000+ years). I think its really good and definitely makes you think. Most of the actors in the film I've never seen before except for John Billingsley (Phlox on Enterprise) and Richard Riehle.

Has anyone else seen it yet? If so please say what you thought of the movie.

Earth Captain: Negative. We have authority here. Do not force us to engage your ship.
Delenn: Why not? Only one human captain has ever survived battle with a Minbari fleet. He is behind me. You are in front of me. If you value your lives, be somewhere else.

The question which once haunted my being has been answered. The future is not fixed, and my choices are my own... and yet, how ironic! For I now find, I have no choice at all! I am warrior... let the battle be joined.-Dinobot-Code of Hero

Saw it yesterday. Good enjoyable sci-fi story that doesn't have to rely on special effects.
Science Fiction is an existential metaphor; it allows us to tell stories about the human condition.

Isaac Asimov once said individual science fiction stories may seem as trivial as ever to the blinder critics and philosophers of today, but the core of science fiction, its essence has become crucial to our salvation if we are to be saved at all.

Ah yeah Gattaca was great, one of those great movies that you just about never hear of. This movie is sorta like it but without the action, its mostly talking but its very intriguing.
