2007 Fall Preview, Part 1
By Kathie Huddleston
One thing's for certain— this is the year that changed everything for television. The big story of the year is that every major network is now offering television episodes on demand through the Web. You need never miss a program again. And with the advent of iPhones, iPods and other handheld, Internet-connected devices, we can download and take our programs with us.
**snippage**
We lost several promising shows last year (SCI FI's The Dresden Files, ABC's Day Break, ABC Family's Three Moons Over Milford), and we almost lost CBS's Jericho. But the most painful loss was Stargate SG-1. Its 10-year run on multiple networks set it apart from any other series on the air and made it the longest-running American science-fiction television series in history. SG-1 gave us a well-realized world, with heroes we could root for and memorable villains. Still, fans have Stargate Atlantis to carry on for them, keeping the universe and some of the characters alive.
