Why is Torri Higginson leaving the show? I don't want to know why Weir is leaving, I just want to know why the actress is. Obviously the actress didn't ask to leave, because she clearly loves her character. This suggests to me that the character is being reduced to a recurring role for creative reasons, or the Weir/Carter swap is only temporary.

This pretty much settles into the respecting the cast and crew, and in this case, respecting Torri's privacy.
Since there as been no statement, all we can do is speculate...and speculation will lead to ickyness on all sides.
So i'm going to close this thread and when/if Torri ever comes forth and makes a statement, we'll revisit the topicComment
