What do us loyal fans do? Is there any chance MGM will make this right and give us a way to get those discs?

I wonder what those discs will contain. Maybe it's all the featurettes that were on the region 2 editions that weren't included on the region 1's? Or if its something that hasn't been released on DVD at all...

Probably deleted scenes and outtakes and all kind of awesome stuff.

OK, so we need to get to work on a petition to MGM/Fox or whoever. I'll pay for these discs, even. For the 4-disc set...30 bucks is fair, enough for them to make a profit and everything.

Yes for $299.98 I'm sure they would be more than happy to send you the four extra discs.

I said 'loyal' fans, and by that I meant those of us who have been buying the boxsets as they come out.

And regarding this mission, of trying to get us folk those discs without shelling out 200-300 dollars: "Fighting a war that appears unwinnable does not make one's cause less noble."

Yeah, I always wondered about that one. Why did we have more than you? Doesn't make sense at all. Were there actually any extras in region 1?

We had extras. Not much at first, seasons 1 and 2 had these little featurettes that I think were produced to promote the syndication deal. Like 3-6 minutes long each, about 3 or 4 on each season set.

Studios do this kind of thing all the time. Special limited edition, extra features, unrated version, Disney does the stunt of puting movies in the vault for a few years then they pull them out put them in a new package and sell them again. It is just good marketing - I'm sure Fox and MGM's stock holders love it. As long as people are buying studio's will do this kind of thing.

I know. I don't even mind it that much for movies. Paying 20 bucks again for a movie isn't that bad. But this is 200-300. I know it's not unprecidented (I think the Buffy Chosen Collection or whatever had extra discs), but still. You guys are just going to take this sitting down?

Not much you can do, it probably isn't financially feasible for them to release the bonus discs for purchase by themselves. It's annoying, and I won't be buying it, unless I get a really good deal and am able to sell of my old sets, and that would be more to save space than to get the bonus.

What would be really great is if they release a set with the bonus discs, new packaging and whatever else is unique to this, sort of what was done with the Invader Zim set.

Ooh, INVADER ZIM. Great show! Anyway, yeah, somehow shelling out $300 for something I already have is, well, I could a set of tires (almost) for that. But I'm sure the diehard fans will upgrade. Studios love to do this.

ARGH! I want those bonus sets, but I'm not re-buying for $300 when I already own six seasons of SG-1.

And *sigh* an Angel complete series set was announced today as well.

These sets a great for late comers to shows, but to long time fans without bottomless pockets.....endless source of frustration.

Oh, man. I already have the first 8 seasons on DVD.

As far as the extras go, I'd like to see some behind-the-scenes stuff like bloopers/outtakes, and not just from S10.

Don't think I'll be able to buy this set, although depending on what the extras were....

Gee I think I'm in a bad position here...
