Top 50 Sci-Fi Shows Of All Time

I don't know how old this list is at boston.com, but at least it includes Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis. The list is at: http://www.boston.com/ae/tv/gallery/topscifishows/

I do question whether shows like Buffy, Xena, Wild Wild West are sci-fi shows. I would have liked to see Farscape, Star Trek: DS9, The Prisoner, The Invaders, etc on the list.

I'm surprised there are not more lists like this online when I google "best sci-fi tv shows".

I don't think there can be a proper list...

It'd either be the writer's own opinion, or fandom's opinion.

In which case Buffy would top every poll on planet earth...

Buffy is a better TV show than 90% of that truly awful list.

They forgot Deep Space Nine... Hmmm. And I don't know a lot of shows that are listed, maybe because I'm too young and not American*lol*

And Xena isn't a sci-fi show. Hmm... very strange list.

I guess they have a pretty broad definition of science fiction becuase I don't consider some of those to be science fiction.

I'm not sure "overrated" quite covers it for that...show.

IMHO, Farscape definitely should have been on that list. But, oh well, these types of lists don't really mean that much to me anyways.

I absolutely agree.....that list is chock full of rubbish. They got the top two pretty accurate of what most lists seem to be showing at the moment, but the rest is.....odd. No Deep Space Nine on a top 50 list?

Agree, but I'm always happy to see my all time favorites show up, particularly the older shows that haven't been around in a while that I was addicted to as a kid ...

I'm shocked Babylon 5 isn't on the list. I can sort of understand Farscape and Dr Who, because neither is American, but B5? No way!

It's #5 on the list, keep up

Doctor Who is also on the list, at #8. And Farscape may have been filmed in Australia, but it's owned by SFC--making it most definitely an American production.

This is a really strange list. I won't argue too much with it, since they do give credit to both Stargate shows, Firefly, and Battlestar Gallactica, but there are some odd entries. Batman? Xena? Third Rock? I guess what some people define as sci-fi is different. Sliders at #10 was also a surprise. It was a bit underrated and okay in the earlygoing, but that's still very high.

The original twilight zone is only at number 7? I think the twilight zone should be up at #1 or #2 with the original star trek.

I can't believe they left Farscape off.
