Auction 3 - Press Release
Michael Shanks Online launches third auction 19 June
In a week that sees the airing of the last episode of the record-breaking Stargate SG-1, Michael Shanks Online (http://www.michaelshanks-online.com) is launching their third annual auction, the profits of which will be donated to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, the charity supported by SG-1 actors Michael Shanks (Dr Daniel Jackson) and his wife, Lexa Doig (Dr Carolyn Lam).
With a collection of memorabilia to attract even the mildest of SG-1 fans - including some of Shanks' own scripts from the series - the auction will appeal to a broad range of science fiction fans, featuring items from past and current popular shows such as Battlestar Galactica, Supernatural, The X-Files, Andromeda, The Sentinel, Highlander and the SG-1 spin-off, Stargate Atlantis.
Included among the many items available for auction:
* Michael's signed, personal scripts (with hand-written notations) from several SG-1 episodes, including "The Pegasus Project",
"Prototype", "The First Ones" and "Absolute Power"
* Michael Shanks' home-made costume shirt from a college production of 'You're A Good Man Charlie Brown'
* Photos, posters, trading cards and DVD sets signed by - among others - Jared Padelecki and Jensen Ackles (Supernatural), Jamie Bamber and Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica), David Hewlett and Torri Higginson (Atlantis), Richard Burgi and Garett Maggart (The Sentinel).
* Daniel Jackson continuity photos, signed by Michael Shanks
* A signed copy of the first DVD to be released for Michael's second Lifetime film Judicial Indiscretion
In the last two years, the MSOL auctions have raised just over $20,000 for the MS Society of Canada. This year's event, which includes items donated and/or signed for the auction by Michael Shanks, Lexa Doig, the University of British Columbia, Legends Memorabilia, Creation Entertainment, Insight Film Studios, Richard Burgi, Garett Maggart, David Hewlett and Connor Trinneer - among many others - promises to be even more exciting than the last.
The first 20 items of approximately 100 will be launched on 19 June, with more items added each day. So keep checking back at the Michael Shanks Online website (http://www.michaelshanks-online.com) for full details and - at a time when the series is drawing to it's end - make sure you don't miss out on the chance to grab a piece of SG-1 history!
