Things to do in Vancouver BC for a SG-1 fan

It looks like that trip to Vancouver BC might become a reality after all. Are any specific sites there that might peek the interest of a Stargate fan? There were lots of website listing locations used for Buffy.

The locations for Stargate aren't quite as iconic as Torrence/Sunnydale high school but has anyone gone to the trouble to figure out where they are. Many of the locations are so dang pretty that it would be nice to see them anyway.

Or are there residents of Vancouver that could point me to some cool sites.

Just in case someone gets jealous, I will be there for work and may only get a tiny bit of time for sight seeing.

    Many thanks,
    Slainey

In case the rdanderson site did not give enough spots, if the Gatecon website is still available, the City Tour itinerary listed a dozen or so filming locations. Probably similar to those you have found. I hope you can stay in West End by English Bay -- great little restaurants, good neighborhood for walking and very convenient to buses everywhere. Cheers!

That's a pretty cool link... imagine going to school at Tollana U
O'Neill: "Well, we'll just have to cross that bridge when we come to it."
Bra'tac: "No, the bridge is too well guarded."

I don't know anyone smart enough to get into Tollana U. Besides I couldn't stand a place that only had one cat.

I got my tickets. Whoo Hoo. I casually mentioned to my boss that a friend recommended a couple of places in Vancouver to visit. We might go see the Garden used in the Gameskeeper. Not my favorite epi but it was pretty.

Simon Fraser University. They shot the Tollan Homeworld there. Along with that Ancient Base where they tried to make that big weapon in "trinity" I met Joseph Mallozzi there too. Sorry for spelling error...if there is an error...
Anyways, at SFU, ask about the Academic Quadrangle and go to the top and u'll notice things. Like where the Ion cannons would have been and where the Tollan gate woulda been and stuff.

I know this forum is in genera PG so no need to go into detail, but isn't Vancouver the porn-capital of Canada, or am I thinking of a different city lol

Hot damn! Stargate AND porn! I love living here!

Anyway, on topic. There is the ever decreasing-in-size Richmond Sand Dunes where they film all of their desert stuff...but then again it might be gone already.

                          That link is so cool.
I visit Vancouver often enough (I'm on the Island) so I recognise alot of those locations. Like those piles of sulfer, and I've been to Jericho beach. And while I was watching Between Two Fires my brother comes by and says "hey that's SFU!" he went to school there!

Plaza of Nations has allegedly changed into a casino and no longer has the same interior.

Also, does anyone know an easy way for someone without a car to get to the vancouver studio where Battelstar is filmed?
