Given the fact that I'm a spoiler hound and the rather revealing preview for next week's episode "Five Years Gone," I've come up with a likely sequence of events on what will happen in the episode. WARNING! I believe this may be extremely accurate so if you do not want to know SERIOUSLY don't read this:

In the possible future featured in the episode, the explosion happens and it is caused, at least in part, by Peter. Nathan is president, with Mohinder as his chief science official and Matt heading up Homeland Security, with the Haitian working as his partner. Nathan is working on a plan to either kill all humans with special abilities or negate their abilities, although probably the former. Claire is working as a waitress and is now a brunette, either in hiding or because her father refuses to acknowledge her. At some point in the episode, she will meet up with Mr. Bennet and have a bittersweet reunion. Mr. Bennet will probably be killed by Matt and Sylar will come to kill Claire once and finally gain her power.

Meanwhile Niki/Jessica (or a possible blending of the two) is a stripper and in a relationship with Peter, who is guilt-ridden for having caused the deaths of so many and for having failed his mission. It is possible that Peter is believed dead or he has been disowned by his brother because he is evidence of Nathan's possible link to those with abilities. Peter has been or will be working with Hiro, who has been labeled by the government as the country's most wanted terrorist. Peter will also have D.L.'s phasing ability. Present Hiro will be interrogated by Matt and the Haitian, brutally in all likelihood. Somehow, Hiro and/or Peter will be killed by Sylar, but Sylar will also be killed (possibly by being thrown out a window). Sylar will be remembered as a hero by the country for killing or being killed by Hiro. Or, Sylar will be believed to be the one who caused the explosion, when it was actually Peter. Still not sure yet. Present Hiro will learn what mistakes future Hiro made and try to learn from them.

I'm interested to see how much of it I got right...

Cool! I'm interested to see how much you got right too. From what I have also read and heard I think you are definately on the right track with most of what you have said, but perhaps little details may be different.. :)

I'm currently of the impression that Sylar is actually the President in the future.

You mean from the painting? Sylar's painting is not of him, it's Nathan, but through Sylar's eyes. I think the reason Sylar's painting of the future is different from Isaac's is mainly due to style and their viewpoints.

I'm willing to bet that the "Nathan" tha tis President is actually Sylar with Candace powers. :P

the prez is using his powers to capture mutants. What better way to collect brains? :P

That very well could be the case. It would be one hell of a way to collect as many more powers as possible.

If you keep saying things like what you said in the spoiler, you really need to stop posting and logically think things over. This is the second time I've had to point out the obvious.

What you consider to be "obvious" is merely your own conjecture and opinion, not fact, and I would thank you to remember that in the future.

What I stated was something that was specifically stated by a character, who would be in a position to know, in the official preview whose link I posted. If you take issue with it, take it up with the producers, not me.

It could be that Peter defeated sylar but in the process either Sylar exploded or Peter absorbed all abilities that Sylar had within him and exploded.

Nathan's argument with Claire could simply her telling him what she thinks about what he has been doing/reminding him of her connection with Peter and Nathan lashing out at her. Over the 5 years Linderman's hold on Nathan has probably increased. He probably hates what he has had to do but feels he had no other choice. If superhumans are being hunted than he has to worry not just about himself but Peter and his childen(Claire included) to protect. remember he's just a pawn Linderman is the chess maser.

It's perfectly edible so long as you don't have any teeth that are sensitive to the cold...and if you plant one of its nuts, it grows into a glacier;)

What? You don't believe me? Pfffttttt...well see if I tell you anymore Alaskan folklore!:p:p

I have two different theories reconciling the tidbit I mentioned a few posts back with Peter's "It was me--the bomb--" outburst in the preview.

1: Is what you just said
2) Is that he is (understandably)*very* angry because any/all preparations that were made were done so with him being the assumed bomb, allowing Sylar to do it unhindered.

This is going to be a supremely stupid question, but I'm going to ask it anyway: this "Five years later" thing IS just a temporary arc, right? That's the impression I got from the commercials, but then I had this unhappy flashback to BSG and their "one year later" thing and I got nervous. :P

Eventually we WILL pick up where we left off in the present day, yes? This is just our chance to see how bad things could be if something isn't done?

One future if Hiro does nothing or very little...

And ShadowMaat is the cross hairs on the bird in your avatar new? I remember the birds but not the cross hairs. Like it though! :D

From what I understand from the spoiler's I've read, Hiro and Ando return to the present by the end of the episode.

Yeah, it should be that either at the end of this episode or at the end of some episode coming, they'll return to the "present".

Though it's kind of interesting... when Hiro travels BACK in time and returns, he doesn't have the "BUtterfly Effect" type of memory changes. Instead, he's really oblivious to the changes in the future as well.

Which Hiro will travel back though?

Maybe future Hiro could swap places with regular Hiro

You guys should read this week's comic on NBC.com, it helps clarify the set up for this episode. Here's what I think: (most of this in said in the comic)

In the original timeline, Sylar was the bomb, (took Ted's power) Hiro tried to stab him before he went off but it didn't work because he had killed Claire and therefore had the healing power. Hiro then spends years trying to figure out what specific event he had to change to avoid the future, and naturally comes to the conclusion that it is Claire's death, so he goes back five years and gives Peter the infamous message.

When Future Hiro goes back it looks like nothing has changed but in reality he's now in timeline 2 in which Claire is alive and everything happened as we seen it happen up to .07% and it looks like Peter is the bomb now (judging by his outburst in the NBC trailer) Future Hiro has no idea exactly what has happened in the new timeline and will have to be filled in right along with his present self.

I can't wait for this episode!! Every interview I've seen with the cast and crew says it's going to be the best of the season.

PS Here's the Canadian preview, I like it better than the American one, the last line is AWESOME Global Preview (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=un4IyYq5eW4)

call this one the X-Force theory. In X-force #46 they meet upm with Xmen charactar of the week Mimic. Like peter Mimic has the abilityto absorb/copy the powers of superhumans in close proximity. mimic absorbs the power of Sunspot, storing and releasing massive amounts ofsolar energy, and when the two come into close proximity to each other their identical charge caused a large explosion. It could be that something Similar happened. Sylar uses a energy based power that Peter then copied and when the two got to both tried to use the power against the other a massive explosion occurred. Both survived because they were at the proverbial eye of the storm.

Cool commercial, but quite a bit of spoilers in it. It ruins one of the best surprises of the episode. I'm glad I didn't watch it until after seeing the episode.

Well, I was right in some ways and wrong in others. I didn't think that Sylar would be president until I started watching it. It then became really, really obvious.

Oh, and I'm glad everyone responded so well to my topic! Thanks a lot everyone! :)

Maybe its that every human in any film which is hounded/murdered by a seemingly unusually powerful entity/thing/person I get pissed, but I really hate Sylar and I want him to meet a especially horrible end. I've never ever said I have ever hated a television character beyond the jeepers creepers thing, but Sylar has surpassed my hatred of the creeper. Every time he kills some body I want to smash him. Is this normal?
