    STARGATE SG-1 - "Sacrifices"
    (Original air date 09-10-04)

    Review:

Teal'c and Bra'tac return from attempting to convince Ishta to wait for the revolution until the rebellion is large enough to take down all of the Goa'uld, as well as Baal's Kull Warriors, at once. Teal'c is in a miserable mood, and heads straight from the Gate Room to his quarters, stating that he's been betrayed. Bra'tac explains: Rya'c has fallen in love with one of Ishta's Hak'tyl - Teal'c's son is getting married, and to a disciple of that stubborn woman.

"Sacrifices" was an incredibly solid piece, breaking up the usual formula to where the joint effort between worlds isn't some complicated work of mental acrobatics, but a given tactic. Somewhat cheesy in parts, but ultimately a lot of fun. Judge writes the best Jaffa-driven stories, but he's didn't leave the rest of the cast to hang either, especially Anderson and Amendola, who both seem to have gotten a lot of enjoyment out of their parts, especially their scenes together. Judge, unsurprisingly, brings to the foreground what he enjoys about the show's dynamic, and it makes for impressive viewing. I‘d really love to see Judge write the big inevitable episode where all of the Jaffa rise up and actually win.

    Quotes:

O'Neill (after Daniel's lengthy recap to the Ishta/rebel Jaffa thing): "What was my question again?"
    Daniel: "Uhm...'how's it going'"
O'Neill: "Seemed so innocuous at the time."

O'Neill (to Teal'c): "I'm not gonna tell you how to raise your kid, but I've always found that sticking your fingers in your ears and humming loudly solves a whole slew of things."

Ishta (to Teal'c): "In the same way Rya'c had no say in your decision, you have no say in his."

O'Neill (on the request to hold a ritual sacrifice for the wedding): "They can have a pinata."

O'Neill (to Teal'c): "You know how I get when you don't call."

    Next Episode

"Endgame" The Trust returns and redecorates the Gate Room. The first thing to go? The Stargate. And that is just the beginning.
