Rate Season 2 Episodes

I just recently watched season 2 since it was released on DVD and I had read alot of negative things about this season on these forums so I was sort of expecting an underwhelming season but to be honest, I was quite impressed by it. It certainly wasn't as good as season 1 overall, nor is it as good as season 3 (so far) but I still think it's an extremely good season of television, with many classic episodes. So instead of everyone actually writing full reviews, to get a good view of what people here think about the season, I thought it might be better, and easier, if we did it like the Season 3 thread and rate, and comment if you wish, each episode in the Gateworld system.

The mid-season two-parter wasn't spectacular, or really "big-enough", I felt, compared with the other mid-season episodes which hurts the overall quality of the season, but only slightly.

I found seasons 2 of Atlantis 2 be awesome! I found that many of the episodes had alot of potential but failed to live up 2 it, 'Epihany' being one of them. The only episodes i disliked were 'The Hive' and 'Michael'.

I thought season two was good. Certainly not stellar but not bottom of the barrel either. To me, the biggest flaw of S2 was the lack of character development and a strong team dynamics and bonding.

For Me:
Crappiest of S2 - The Tower comes to the forefront. *shudders* I wasn't too fond of Grace Under Pressure either. Just way too much McKay for me.

Best of S2 - Conversion and Duet top the list. Aurora and Coup de Etat was pretty darned good too.

The rest of the eps fall happily in the middle.

Bit of a mixed bag. Some episodes I enjoy a lot even though they have serious problems (The Hive, Epiphany, The Long Goodbye). Instinct and Conversion could have been so much better. I absolutely love The Lost Boys, in facts its my second favorite episode, not sure why. I feel Coup d'Etat, Michael, and Allies (little underrated imo) at the end redeemed S2 somewhat.

Sucked for the most part I thought...

The season was okay I guess, certainly no where near the greatness of season 1. I found myself leaving the room and doing other things while some of the episodes were on - something I have never done with either series, usually I'm glued to the tv!
The 2 Michael episodes were the best, I think, The Siege 3, Duet and Runner I liked but I won't be buying the season. I'm growing tiresome of the Rodney show, although I loved it when he got the arrow in the butt!(don't recall if that was 2 or 3)

Siege Part 3: ***1/2 (Seeing Hive ships blow is soooo satisfying, plus cloaking)
The Intruder: ** (recycled concept, but original delivery)
Runner: *** (good introductin to Ronon and cool fight between him and Ford)
Duet: *** (original concept, hilarity, and Jamie Ray Newman {she's beautiful!})
Condemed: *** (just the look on the bad guy's face is reason enough)
Trinity: **1/2 (Good stuff from McKay and Sheppard, Ronon + Teyla too)
Instinct: ** (Nice performance by Jewel Staite, but not very exciting)
Conversion: **1/2 (team interaction, plus Sheppard's a bug)
Aurora: ** (Could've used the intel the Captain had, but nooooo!)
Lost Boys: **** (Superb in everyway, good team stuff, plus Ford)
The Hive: *** (the knives scene is priceless, but Daedulus cannot fight at all!)
Epiphany: ** (like 100 days with a fake monster, but without the romance)
Critical Mass: **** (Incredibly powerful episode, Rachel's song, and JRN!)
Grace Under Pressure: **1/2 (No Teyla or Ronon, but Sam!!!!)
The Tower: *1/2 (Boring plot {by Paul Mullie, no surprise} but drones are ok)
The Long Goodbye: ** (Average episode, but Elizabeth/John shippers rejoice)
Coup D'Etat: *** (Good twist, plus team interaction)
Michael: **** (It's insane how good this is, Connor Trineer is awesome)
Inferno: **1/2 (The Orion, plus nice story, but clunky in places)

Hey I actually liked most of season two.

The Intruder: *** Predicable maybe but again good effects
Runner: *** Good way to introduce Ronon
Duet: ** Funny but a tic too much McKay
Condemned:** Not my fav but watchable
Trinity: *** Angsty McKay/Shep tension
Instinct: ** Not so keen on the young Wraith
Conversion: **** Great JF acting and whump
Aurora: *** Loved that ship
The Lost Boys: *** Good action
The Hive: *** Great special effects at the end
Epihany: *** I liked this one!
Critical Mass: *** Teyla's singing and bomb tension
Grace Under Pressure: * Way, way too much Rodney babble
The Tower: ** A bit silly but there's one every season
The Long Goodbye: **** Great to see Liz kick ass
Coup D'etat: ** Not bad but it lacked angsty tension
Michael: * I don't like that character

Allies: *** Good way to end the season. Ronon, Mckay and Shep missing!

Some really good episodes IMO, but also a few weak ones. "The Tower" by far the worst ep of the season! Overall it's a decent season.

Out of the 6 Season 2 eps I've watched so far (On DVD) i would have to say Duet is my favourtie episode...so far...
I think the reason I like that ep so Much was becouse of my Crush on Rodney

Overall? I wasn't overly impressed with Season 2.. I think 3 has been MUCH better.

Favorite Ep of the season? Toss up between Critical Mass and Michael (with Conversion running close behind)

Worst ep of the season? The Tower. Blech! Characters out of character bad storyline. blah.
