BBC2 Snags Torchwood for 2nd Season

BBC2 has snatched the new series of Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood from digital channel BBC3 following the high ratings the drama posted for its first run.

BBC2 controller Roly Keating said the success of the show meant the natural home for its second series was on his channel, although it is thought episodes will still be shown on BBC3.

The BBC Press Office reports that Julian Bellamy, Controller of BBC Three, has said: "Breaking all records on BBC Three is no mean feat and we've been proud to help build Torchwood into one of the most talked-about and eagerly-anticipated series of recent years."

Filming of series two is due to start in Cardiff in Spring 2007 and the series will hit screens later next year.

No surprise really, with some of the comments that have been made by those high up in the BBC, I would have been gobsmacked if they didnt pick it up. Now all that remains to be revealed is the future of Doctor Who, which has shared the positive comments of Torchwood from the BBC, so I'm guessing the commision of S4/30 and 5/31 will be announced over the Christmas period.

    Nice find
Equality is not a concept. It's not something we should be striving for. It's a necessity. Equality is like gravity. We need it to stand on this earth as men and women. And the misogyny that is in every culture is not a true part of the human condition. It is life out of balance, and that imbalance is sucking something out of the soul of every man and woman who is confronted with it.
