My son as Mini-Jack for Hallowe'en

My 6.5 year old son Bobby LOVES Col Jack O'Neill. When he saw the episode where Jack is a kid, he wanted to be a Mini Jack So the hunt was on for his outfit. The gun was the hardest to find. My hubby bought several little guns from dollar stores just in case. We ended up finding a TD2008 in Chinatown in Toronto. It almost like a P-90. We took off the front part to make it shorter. He actually had a kid who thought he had a P-90 while TOTing.
We had to colour his cothes because we found geen pants BUT could only find beige boyscout shirt that came even close. So they both got dyed. His school didn't want weapons so we got binicolers (sp? is terrible!), and I fancied up a cantee for him with SG-1 painted on it. And of course he had to wear the baseball cap. My hubby was going to make the vest until he found one with lots of pockets at Value Village. Close enough! We just got him some cool sunglasses because he didn't want to deal with Jack's real glasses. He had one kid in his grade one class know what Stargate was.
While TOTing, he had some kids recognize him as Stargate! He had one lady giving him treats who said "You're that guy that goes through a portal and maybe travels through time?" HA! Close enough. He met up with one other army guy who thought Bobby's outfit was way cooler (kid had one of those filmsy store bought things army outfit).
My 2 year old daughter was a ladybug. She wouldn't wear her whole outfit, couldn't even get a pic with everything on. She refused to take her nap. She KNEW something was up. Annette made it to 10 houses before Dave had to take her home. She was just too cranky and had a screaming fit on the sidewalk. She screamed all the way home. I stayed with Bobby. Good thing I had one of his extra guns because he kept shooting at me!

I've provided a link to my photobucket. Havent' a clue if this is being done right. So bare with me

That's an excellent costume considering you didn't have access to kid's BDU's and so forth. Great work!

You should bring him (in that custome) to a Stargate convention (Canada, apparentely, has several... big ones, too. Not surprising considering where the shows are filmed). I bet the actors would just love him .
