Women still a minority in visual effects industry

VANCOUVER -- It's signifi cant that Vancouver studio Rainmaker composed 170 computer-generated shots in the new feature Garfi eld: A Tail of Two Kitties. But even more signifi cant is the fact that Rainmaker's visual effects supervisor and the visual effects producer were women. As in the videogame sector, women are in a minority in this growing industry.

    .........

Eberle certainly fi ts that mould. A former radio and TV news reporter, she started in the fi lm business as a production assistant on Stargate SG-1, then climbed the career ladder "working with A-list visual effects supervisors, who taught me a lot." She loves the industry because nothing stays the same.

ummm.... is that even really worth reporting (I mean on that site, not here)? So not many women go into the visual effects industry. Is it meant to be about sexism and them not getting hired, or just that not many women want to go into that field? Either I'm missing the point, or it doesn't have one.
