TS - I don't remember BB from Grace Under Fire!:D

He was only in 1 show, but he's very sweet. I haven't seen the whole show but you can download his scenes from

Ben Browder Online (http://www.benbrowderonline.net/acting2.shtml)

I had no idea BB was in so many shows. Farscape was the first time I'd seen him star in anything. I thought at the time he was a newcomer to the acting scene.

I first saw him on Farscape too. It was after I became a big fan that I started looking around and found all these clips for other shows.

He's also been in several tv movies, although the ones I've seen were pretty forgettable.

BB is Canadian?

Most of their work is forgettable, in my opinion.

No - he's a southern boy. :). He was born in Memphis and went to High School in North Carolina. His family owned a Busch car racing team.

My tops of the men would be:

1. Michael Shanks (He's so very expressive...and I don't like body hair!!)
2. Dennis Quaid (That smile makes me weak in the knees)
3. Michael Weatherly (I've only seen him in NCIS but he's the only reason I'm watching that show!)
4. Keifer Sutherland (Jack Bauer taught me all I need to know about artery biting)
5. Scott Bakula (Sam Beckett is still my favorite hero...he can sing, he can dance, he can accelerate his particles)
6. Harrison Ford (My first movie-star crush)
7. Eric Close (Member of the hottest group of FBI agents the world has ever known)
8. Orlando Bloom (He's the only one who didn't look like he smelled to high heaven in TLOTR)
9. Bruce Boxleitner (I used to love Scarecrow and Mrs. King)
10. either Robert Duncan McNeil (I loved Tom Paris) or David Duchovny (he's so sMoULDERy) or Jeff Bridges (Starman was such a sweet movie!)

As far as the women go, I definitely pick Catherine Zeta-Jones. I think she's absolutely gorgeous! After her, I don't really care.
The actress I think is the most beautiful is Jane Seymour. I find her assymetrical smile and different colored eyes to be entrancing. Did anyone else ever see "The Scarlet Pimpernel"? She was breathtaking in that! Hmmm. I see she's been in "Smallville". I should have nominated her.

He plays the guitar quite nicely. He composed a piece they used on a MacGyver episode - very pretty and soothing.
Eau D'Leo (http://www.jackfic.com/misc.html)

And from way way back. If any of you are brave - watch this clip from the Dinah Shore show. I couldn't find where I'd downloaded it from but that was 7 yrs ago so that site might not be around anymore, so I uploaded it to Photobucket.

Michael Shanks - I don't like body hair either.
Michael Weatherly - I think he looks even hotter in "Dark Angel".
Keifer Sutherland - It's not that he's good looking exactly--there's just something very compelling about him.
Bruce Boxleitner - ME TOO!
Jeff Bridges - Starman is on my top ten list of sci-fi movies; and he did a superb job in it--he should have won the Oscar that year!

And from way way back. If any of you are brave - watch this clip from the Dinah Shore show. I couldn't find where I'd downloaded it from but that was 7 yrs ago so that site might not be around anymore, so I uploaded it to Photobucket.

Only 10? If I must. :D

Ben Browder It's all about the eyes for me. Though he does fill out leather pants quite nicely and he's a fellow southerner.
Christian Bale Just cuz
Matthew McConaughey He's a fellow Texan & I love the accent. ;) and he ain't half bad to look at....
Kiefer Sutherland I'm w/ wbb, he's not the best looking, but I do find him compelling, oh & I had somewhat of a crush on him in my teen yrs after Flatliners :o
Kavan Smith He's a cutie
Joe Flanigan The hair among other things.
Adam Baldwin Not quite sure but he's got that masculine hotness plus I just loved his character & acting on Firefly
David Duchovny Another one of those crushes, especially in his early days on X-Files
Jamie Bamber Eye candy plus I love his accent
Harrison Ford In his younger years, not so much anymore.

No - he's a southern boy. :). He was born in Memphis and went to High School in North Carolina. His family owned a Busch car racing team.I always thought that was quite cool because I'm a huge NASCAR fan. I don't think they are involved on that level of racing anymore, though. But a racing family....

well i liked the speaker feature ... the one that offers an audible ... you know when finding stud"s". so when you are looking and there are several and you can't decide ... it gives you that audible to make the play a completion ... hehehe ... course i guess you would have to play or at least understand football (the real one) to get the metaphor ... but!! *shruggs*

If we, er, YOU, open a new thread and have this one closed you can delete out the actor images to replace them with the aliens ... If you're running out of room.

warmbeachbrat
June 27th, 2007, 04:44 PM
I wasn't going to define "cool" at all--I figure that will shake itself out over the course of the tourney. I AM saying "cool" though--not "gross" or "ugly" or "beautiful" or...or...well, you know. "Cool"--that's the ticket!

And, I'm thinking of nominating Mr. Spock (how much cooler could you get?) and the Andorians (my fave Star Trek aliens), along with the Alien alien, and Moya from Farscape.... And several others.... So Ba'al, Orion Slave Girls--fair game as far as I'm concerned.

Does that help?

ETA: I'm thinking the nominated alien(s) should be sentient. What do you guys think?

Hey. I'm all for cool aliens. That's the way I'd prefer the new tournament to go. One of my favourite sci fi creatures is the Predator and of course, the Alien.

I was just thinking, if it is sentient beings only, would that not exclude the Alien? It's more or less a single-minded drone really. Although, the drones do have a certain degree of intelligence, as does the Queen. Come to think of it, I'm not so sure if the Queen is sentient either.

Mind you, it wouldn't be a Cool Alien tourney if we didn't have the Alien in it. ;)

Well your kid years and my kid years are vastly different years. :D I was talking Archie :), early Fantastic Four, Daredevil, Casper, Looney Tunes comics, Combat Kelly. I liked the way they drew them back then. I haven't cared for the style they use now for many years. Plus they were a hell of a lot cheaper. Mostly around 25 cents.

And let's not forget Mad Magazine. I bought a zillion of them back in the late 70's - early 80's.

I like to read comic book too as in Donald Duck, Bobo, Superman, Batman and Spiderman, and now they change the name into 'graphic novel' and the women suddely have (at least) D cup breasts and the men look overly bulgy-muscles-y *headdesk* :(

I think it depends on the kind of comic you're picking up. Graphic novel just means that they've compiled a story arc into one book, instead of having to buy individual issues. I'm a Vertigo girl myself. Just about all the comics I read are put out by them (Sandman, Fables, Y: The Last Man).

Okay, yeah it's definitely at least because I know I'm a C and I thought I was moving into a D and I don't look like the comic book females. People complain about models giving us females a hard time, I think comic book writers do more so. I mean I have never met a well-balance male comic book reader that understands and accepts the reality of the female body. And don't even get me started on the porn industry -- oy! My last boyfriend, "Why don't you make any noise? The girls on TV are always screaming and moaning and stuff. Do that."

I'd recommend Green Arrow' QUIVER (http://www.amazon.com/Green-Arrow-Quiver-Graphic-Novels/dp/1563898020)... by Kevin Smith
I never like Green Arrow, I think he's too yappy & protest too much compare to the silent Batman or righteous Superman or quippy Spiderman, but this book change all that, it has a little bit of everything (Birds of Prey, Justice League, Justice Society) and a lot of talking & explaining what had happened in the DC universe while GA was dead (for a short while). I think I read it 7-8 times, prolly read it again everytimes I go to Border, it's that good! one of the few graphic novels that I read & re-read beside Kingdom Come.

Now, please don't ask why. No one quite knows the reason.
It could be that his head wasn't screwed on quite right.
It could be, perhaps, that his shoes were to tight.
But I think that the most likely reason of all
May have been that his heart was two sizes too small.
