I am very curious about the Ori so i want some people to post some of their most interesting facts about the ori. Please don't just shrug this off!

are similar to the wraith....in fact even more cruel....they decive u. if you are a devout worshipper of the wraith they will give you the gift of life. the ori will just let you die. they are fanatics...unlike the wraith who are peacefull by nature (at least some), but they need to feed.

I think the one thing that makes them so dangerous...their not just following orders. The Jaffa, I doubt they had any real passion in their battles, they just didn't want to get killed by their leader if they failed. Teal'c said in "The Scurge" that the one thing they had over the Goa'uld was a Just Cause. The followers of the Ori believe the same thing, that their cause is Just and they are fighting evil...I think that makes them very dangerous

What makes them so evil is that they are ascended beings who one zaps power from all worshipers, and they promise to ascended their most loyal followers and that is a bold faced lie. They say they will so they can get more worshipers to zap power from.

They wish to spread Origin throughout the Universe.

They believe that the Ancients are the evil ascended beings for refusing to share their knowledge and wisdom with those beneath them.

Their technology is incredibly advanced. A single Ori Prior staff, is a combination of the Ancient communication device, and the Ancient healing cube, but far more powerful than both.

We still don't know if they actually do sap power from their followers, they manifest themselves in the lower plane, through a wall of fire.

Their Prior's can walk on water, their ideology is in direct opposition to the Ancient's.

Facts:

• They are part of the same species as the Alterans but split from them over beliefs. the Ori believed in ascension religiously and the Ascended Ancients claim that the Ori attempted to destroy them
• They are natives of another galaxy, possibly one that is located very far away
• They created their own second evolution of the human form in their galaxy
• They keep the humans under their rule in primitive conditions
• They 'evolve' their more devout followers within the halls of Celestis to become Priors who are their army, all of whom are led by the Doci
• Priors possess the advanced abilities of a 'hok'taur' giving them telepathic and telekinetic abilities which include creating shields around their bodies, suffocating people, creating fire through thought alone and resurrecting the dead
• The Ori demand that their followers worship them, this is because they gain energy from the lack of free will which is believed to be the reason why the Ascended Ancients don't interfere in corporeal affairs
• The religion that the Ori demand is known as Origin that preaches that following the Ori gives Ascension which is a lie that even the Priors dont know about and those that turn away from ascension are destroyed to prevent doubt and corruption from spreading
• Orlin said that the Ori, though they claim to ascend their followers when they die, is actually a lie as they do not want to share their power
• After learning of the MW galaxy possessing humans, the Ori decided to wage a war to claim the galaxy and its humans so that the newly gained energy will allow them to finally destroy the Ascended Ancients
• Though the Ori are more willing to intefere with the affairs of mortal affairs, they cannot do so in the MW galaxy because it would provoke a direct confrontation with the Ascended Ancients
• The Ori plan on twisting the Ascended Ancients own rules to allow them victory which includes creating a human form Ori to lead their crusade in the galaxy
• The Ori possess advanced technology which includes large space based supergates allowing ships to travel from one galaxy to another. Their ships are piloted by the Priors who sit in chairs similar to Ancient control chairs but keyed to the Priors unique brain biology. They also possess advanced shield and weapon technology that is far more advanced then what the natives of the MW galaxy possess
