TV Best Bets for Friday, September 08
*All Times Eastern
By Courtney Potter
Stargate SG-1
9:00 PM - SCI FI
Vala (Claudia Black) finds herself alone in a city with no memory of her identity -- and it soon becomes apparent that agents working for the Goa'uld have captured her and rendered her memory useless. Mitchell (Ben Browder) and Teal'c (Christopher Judge) question a man who may have information about Vala's whereabouts.

Star Trek: 40th Anniversary
8:00 PM - TV Land
William Shatner is having an amazing second career, isn't he? Just when you thought he was washed up, he turns up like a badly coiffed penny and charms everyone with his self-effacing humor and considerable acting chops. Yes, that's right -- the man can act! Shatner returns to TV -- albeit in his younger form -- in a mini-marathon of '60s sci-fi stalwart "Star Trek." TV Land welcomes the venerable sci-fi series -- which premiered 40 years ago this day -- to its lineup with episodes including the infamous "Trouble with Tribbles," fan favorite "City on the Edge of Forever" (in which Capt. Kirk and Mr. Spock, played by Leonard Nimoy, time-travel to 1930s New York) and "Plato's Stepchildren" -- which includes TV's first interracial kiss.
