The Greatest Science Fiction Movie Tournament

Which is the greatest Sci-fi movie ever? Lets find out!

The Tournament will run as I normally run them, which for those who dont know, is as follows:

Stage One (Round Zero) Five Days of voting for your favourite Sci-fi Movies, any movie with 3 votes ges through to the next Stage. Everyone gets ten votes each, and those are for the five days. Once we have a list of around 30 movies we move onto:

Stage Two (Round One - Final Round)
We vote for the movies we like the least, knocking one out per day until we have a winner!

    Have fun!

Just one tip, if you split your votes up over the days, ie.

    Day One: - 3 votes
    Day Two - 1 Vote
    Day Three - 2 votes
    Day Four - 2 Votes
    Day Five - 2 Votes

Please quote your votes from previous days, it'll just make things easier when it comes to tallying of votes

Equality is not a concept. It's not something we should be striving for. It's a necessity. Equality is like gravity. We need it to stand on this earth as men and women. And the misogyny that is in every culture is not a true part of the human condition. It is life out of balance, and that imbalance is sucking something out of the soul of every man and woman who is confronted with it.

    * Tournement Notes *

Please keep an eye on this as we go, it will display any rule changes.

RULE CHANGE 1: "Stargate The Movie" is NOT allowed.
RULE CHANGE 2: Free Passes: I will, should a third person (L-Jade and Myself are 1 and 2) wish for free passes to be given to "Star Wars" "Star Trek" "Alien" "Terminator" "Predator" "Back To The Future" franchises
RULE CHANGE 3: 11th vote, for any movie with 1 or 2 votes already, you may cast an 11th vote that will automatically put it through into the final list

                    Add the original SG movie.
Such a shame that I wouldn't know by now your revelations

                        9. Enemy Mine <---I still love Dennis Quaid
                        10. ET <---ok, so this one's kind of hokey now, but at the time it was great!

Oh, and this one doesn't count because it's Sci-non-fi but I think the best one of all is :The Right Stuff. (If you haven't seen that, you must! If you haven't read it, the book's even better! [OK, so Dennis Quaid is in there, but that's not the only reason ])

Honorable mention goes to Starman, Abyss, Clockwork Orange (which may or may not count as sci-fi....I'm not sure), Dr. Strangelove, Silent Running, and anything else with Dennis Quaid as an astronaut.
