It was a watchable movie but nothing like the book, which I loved. I was expecting it to be worse than previews implied but I was pleasantly surprised.

I thought it was almost 2 movies. The 1st half to 2/3 was thoughtful and interesting. I liked it. Unfortunately it degenerated into a stupid cheesy unbelievable battle that left a sour taste in my mouth and ruined the memory of the 1st half.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but for what I understand, I, robot is a short story by Isaac Asimov (I don't remember if it was in a book also called I robot). It was about a robot that dreamed that he had rights and deserved to be treated as human, in which case the 3 rules of robotics wouldn't apply to him. There was another short story by Asimov about a robot that hided within a bunch of other robots. And there were some other plots from Asimov’s short stories included in the movie, like the robot who killed a person, etc.
I think the movie was good (NEVER being able to compare with SW4, though, yes, that’s for you, L-Jade), and I hope it helped a lot of people discover the great Asimov writing.

Hmm. I'd certainly agree that Jedi is the film I'm more likely to watch, but does that make it the better film? Great films are not always easy to watch (c.f. Ran).

Gattaca to go, simply because that three-part battle at the end of Jedi has something for all ages: cute Ewoks for the kids, space battles and familial angst.

I agree with everyone above. Gattaca is a fantastic drama, but it's not an easy film to sit through. ROTJ is a film that I can watch again and again and again. So, on that point:
