Atlanis - no more seasons after season 3?

Stargate Atlantis season 3 will end and I've heared that there will be no more seasons for atlantis is this ture ? SG-1 ten seasons and Atlantis with only three sad seasons why ? The president of sci-fi want's the show to be canceled because it's not making any money from the dvd's unlike sg-1 that made tones of money for box sets and now action figures that may or may not come out this year. If you have any thoughts on this please tell it.

Where have you heard that? There's a lot of discussion today over what SciFi's plans for the shows are because of this rumour of them messing about with the scheduling and putting in a 6 month hiatus but I've heard absolutely nothing concrete about the shows being cancelled or the president wanting to cancel them.

As far as I am aware both SG1 and SGA do very well on DVD sales - however, DVD revenue is not as important in keeping the shows on the air as the TV Neilsen's ratings... these are what the advertisers care about and it's their money that keeps the channel going and the show on the air.

They cant take away atlantis it is one of the better shows. Who would do such a thing as taking a good show off of tv when they haven't even did anything big except find atlantis.

so true. SG-1 is a very lucky boy. But eventually Lassie won't be able to save Timmy every time and he'll falll down a well of cancelation. Hopefully we get a few more seasons before that though.

why would scifi cancel a show like stargate due to dvd sales (which are really good) as they have never made money from the dvd sales due to the fact they dont own the rights MGM does and Fox from now create the dvds and distrubute them. Hows that.

Enterprise wasn't good... They were planning to do a Story Arc that covered most of the Seasons about Time Travelling Nazi Aliens! It's the Oldest Cliche in the Book! Thankfully, the new Season 4's Director they added (Forgot his name!) realised this mistake & focused on Better, Tie-in-to-the-Original-Series-without-upsetting-continunity episodes... Then they cancelled it, once it was resufacing, can't blame them really.....

After all, it was such a big backstory left in Voyager.

Thankfully, I hope Atlantis survives and goes on to have as many seasons,

Enterprise was a great show when it wanted to be (and for most of season 3 and 4, it was), but let's not go there.
