When former Novi resident Elizabeth Christensen set out to co-author a novel based on the TV series "Stargate Atlantis," she had only to draw on her own experience for background.

Christensen co-authored "Stargate Atlantis: The Chosen" with Australian writer Sonny Whitelaw. The two have collaborated on another book for the series, which Christensen will come out in August.
The book is roughly 200 pages and is set in the universe of the TV show, which runs on the Sci Fi channel, Christensen said. She had to work within the constraints of the show, making sure not to contradict past episodes or get into specific details that could potentially conflict with future shows.
