vBulletin 3.6

Just out of curiosity, is the forum going to be updated to vBulletin 3.6 once it's finished going through beta, and are we going to be notified beforehand of the upgrade?

I wouldn't recommend Darren and Greg upgrade to Beta 3. I'd wait till either RC1 or the full version.

So far the major features that have been added are Multi-Quote, Infraction System, RSS Poster Robot and Podcasting Support. Also a large number of smaller features were added.

I'm especially waiting for the multi-quote option.

It will make responding a lot easier, and a lot quicker.

i go to a forum that has a feature like that as you scroll down and read posts you can click a little button for the post you want to quote then when you to to write your reply the quotes are there already

VB 3.6 is not slated to be installed/setup until the mid season break. The problem with such a large board is that we would require a large window to migrate from 3.5 to 3.6. This means, we'd need atleast 2-3 weeks of internal testing once the new version is gold/released, then a few weeks to schedule the time for the upgrade, then an outage of up to 12 hours when the change-over process happens.. and of course a window to allow us to revert if needed.

Hi everyone. Wow this is my first post in a long time and it's awesome to be back . This is great news regarding 3.6 and I can't wait to see it implemented in the near future. Cheers to all, and here's to the new seasons of SG-1 and SGA (and soon BSG). Yipee!!

Wow those features sound really cool, quoting multiple posts and the whole Rep without leaving the page will be good...alot of them are mod features though.

We're all very excited - it's like a bunch of kids in a candy store - except it's a Stargate store and we're allowed to take as much home as we can pack into our pockets *cough* er, perhaps the more diplomatic way of saying it is "we look forward to using the new tools affored by v3.6.0 to help make the forum a better place"

As for the mod view of the world, it's really very similar to the normal member display. Just a few extra pull down menus for merging etc, and whereas you guys only have "edit" on your own posts, I have that option on everyone's posts Now, if only I could come up with a good theme for an egomaniacal rampage..... (joking people, joking!)
