NEW David Hewlett version of the Stargate ad

Not yet on TV, but perhaps this Friday, but it is online:

Go to http://www.scifi.com/atlantis/ then choose WATCH PREVIEW. When the screen finally pops up, you get a choice of three ads (the one that is playing - season 3 SGA, Joe Flanigan's pool ad, and now, David Hewlett's elevator ad)

--thanks to pavane of the david hewlett group for the tip!

    Transcript:

Businessman gets into an elevator. Suddenly it plunges, but luckily, Rodney is also a passenger.

    Businesman: "We're falling!"

Rodney (Calm): "Obviously, may I?" (gets out life signs detector or something)

Businessman: "Should we try the jumping thing?"

Rodney: "I've heard of people jumping through vertifically ????* through a falling elevator, which I don't think so... so, got it! Press seven eight four five two very quickly! Activate emergency braking system."

BUsinessman does it and they're saved. Doors open.: "It worked."

Rodney (smug): "I love me." and he leaves

WITH A LITTLE STARGATE, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE

    * Alas, he talked sooo fast I couldn't decipher it.

something about block or blockade .
Never, never, never believe any war will be smooth or easy...

... or that any man can measure the tides and hurricanes he will
                encounter on the strange journey.

                Spoiler:

                2 Cor. 10:3-5
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; )
                5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

                    Here's my mini transcript

                    Guy: I'm falling!

                    Obviously, may I?

Guy: Should we try the jumping thing?

Brilliant if you're capable of jumping vertically at the velocity that of the falling elevator. Which . . . I don't think so. So, got it, press 78452 very quickly, activates emergency braking system.

                    Guy: It worked!?

                    I love me

I made some caps.. they are in the Hewlett Thunk but here are a couple of clear ones, these are capped from the file that appears on the SciFi site.

Yes, the last part "I love me" classic McKay speak. Bravo David!

And to be honest I like his ad better than Joe's (not that Joe did a bad job).

SGA fans will "get" the ad but would the casual viewer?

Cool. They put my caps to shame (but then I made 'em small as what do you expect with a camera aimed at an 8 year old monitor?? <G>)
