Just out of curiosity, does anyone know what the first post on the gateworld forum was?

The first post will either be from Darren or Greg and since the forum was in testing stage for the first few weeks/months, ALL of the earliest posts are going to be from mods.
Can't you simply look up Darren's posting history and do a reverse order to show the earliest? Or, rather, the earliest one not deleted which is in a section accessible to everyone.

You go to the normal search, type your nick in at the "search by user name" field, click at the field "Show Results as threads or posts" on posts and let it sort the results by last posting date in ascending order. worked for me

My first poast was i think in the episode discussion, if i had to guess judging from my favourites i would say it was the episode "foothold" at the time, the first thread i started was about the tollan and if they could return in some way, the second was the aschen and so and so on.......For all the pollution woes on Earth, will the Human race end up taking those problems into space in the future?

I checked it (I used a javascript function for testing). The first post accessible to the public was Darren's http://forum.gateworld.net/showpost.php?p=169 on April 22nd, 2004.
Thumbs up Testing ... Is This Thing On?
Give us a test post! There are three ways to reply to an existing thread:
1) Look for the big "Reply" button at the top or bottom of the thread. (With this you're replying to the thread rather than a specific poster -- something different than Delphi.)
2) Click the "Quote" button on someone else's post to automatically quote their message in yours. (Delete the irrelevant bits, for sanity's sake.)
3) Click the little QuickReply icon in the lower-right corner of a post. That'll drop you down to the box near the bottom, where you can write a quick reply without all the fancy tools and smilies of the main Reply editor.
Go on, give it a try!
