A transit-based guide to the Greater Vancouver sights you can see out a bus, SkyTrain or SeaBus window has been unveiled.
Called Your Ride Guide, the 32-page publication by local historian and long-time transit user Jim McGraw is available free at some SkyTrain stations and aboard the SeaBus.
"It's amazing what's around every major route," said McGraw, a former broadcaster who is on the executive of the Vancouver Historical Society.
"As I've ridden SkyTrain and SeaBus, I've often heard people say 'What's that?' as they look out the window," he said. "Your Ride Guide is an answer to those 'What's that?' questions."
The guide is loaded with trivia and statistics on everything from local cranberry fields and mountains to bridges and buildings.
Film buffs can use it to spot studios in Burnaby where films like Elf and TV series like MacGyver and Battlestar Galactica were shot.
