    Screw-ups in The Intruder

In the intruder when they beam Sheppard out of the F-302, He's standing up! But in the cockpit he would have been sitting down! I ask you!!

And then when McKay and Sheppard are in the f-302 when the bay doors are open, Sheppard starts up the engine and flies out but it shows the bay doors opening and then him flying out!! They were already open!!! Madness!!

Yeah, that 'beaming' problem plagues many shows. I noticed that one right off the bat and well, okay, it would have been really funny if he'd been in sitting down and just fallen over, but that's just me

It would have been hard to film since he should be like that a split second before falling but it would have been an impossible position for the actor to hold without help. I agree, though, it would have been funny as heck.

I was waiting to see if he would land on his butt too! Would have been a laugh.

I didn't notice the bay doors, though. Still, I loved this ep- it remains one of my favourites. Still haven't pinpointed a particular reason why I love it so much- I just do.

talking about screw ups in the Intruder, what about "switching off all systems" to re-set, how come this didnt include artificial gravity?

Sssshhhhhhh. Budget can't withstand having all the cast members floating around. Think of all the time it would take to string 'em up with wires and then digitize out those wires!

the articficial gravity more than likely had a back-up power source that kept it online while the main systems were shut down the back-up power source may also have kept the life support going. if there was a back-up power source keeping those systems going then maybe it was a low priority system that the virus was aware of and chose to ignore.

maybe they got they idea to keep the life support and artifical gravity systems running off a back-up power source from the sg-1 episode entity when the alien signal hid inside a malp while they powered down the base and wiped the alien signal from the computers.

Didn't they say that the life-support systems were independent during the episode? Maybe gravity is the same way? Or it's part of the life-support systems?

i don't think they really needed to mention the artificial gravity systems because they would have know if they were in mid air talking about the Artificial Gravity but life support i would imagine it would take a few minutes for the air to leave the ship until they knew so McKay was prob just making sure they knew they wouldn't DIE of Suffercation. Just a thought

Maybe it's because of McKay vs. asgard.

Absolutely! Actually- I think McKay dialogue with everyone is good in this one. McKay and Sheppard have some fairly funny scenes too.

                        Spoiler:
                        1. McKay scrunching down to be beamed into the hanger bay!
                        2. McKay and Shep in the F302!
                        ROFLMAO!

Its also got a lot of plot building and character development in the flashbacks between then and the Seige. I like that stuff.

McKAY: I'm just checking something -- I'm sure it is impossible. (He activates some controls and the ones and zeros turn into a type of writing.) Crap!
                        HERMIOD: What did you do?
McKAY: I just ran it through a translation programme -- it's Wraith.
(Hermiod turns and looks at his screen, then turns back to Rodney.)

                        HERMIOD:
                        'Crap' indeed.

Your right they did say that! Artificial gravity is actually one part of the life support systems. The life support then makes up part of secondary systems which are seperated from the primary systems (such as propulsion and navigation). Because the virus was only in the primary systems and couldnt get into the seconday systems, Mckay only had to power-down the primary systems.

That would only make sense. I mean, if something DID happen to your primary systems (which seems to happen a lot) you would want something independently powered and controlled, possibly even something mostly mechanical/electrical (as opposed to electronic) in nature as much as possible.

Why didnt they just boot up McAfee or Norton? Or Windows Defender! That would have done the trick! Now the Daedalus is probably full of wraith financial scams and porn
