4 is my fave, as that's the first exposure before going back and seeing the older stuff...

I'm quite partial to the DT theme currently running.

PD is 3rd.

I grew up with 3 through 5 and definitely lean towards 5 as my favorite - although they miss something without the context of the intro sequence (the swooshes in particular).

Gee, that was fun...
I like the middle versions the least... More partial to the early (1-4) and more recent versions (9-10).

I will have to be honest here. I love the current theme most of all! Something about that orchestration with the moog sounding music that makes me think how much they nailed it!!!

I'm all full of nostalgia now :)

I like the current one a lot. I'm not good at describing music, but the current theme feels like all the elements are fused, compared with the 1-7 themes which kept each element separate. I did like the 1-7 themes, but the current tune suits the current graphics perfectly. I like that they've kept all the essential elements: additions don't bother me but subtractions would. I'm glad that the middle eight has been put back, I always loved that bit, though I'm a bit 'meh' about how they've done the middle eight this time

Of the first seven, my favourite is Four. I do like Five, but it's hard to tell how much of that is the nostalgia.

Six and Seven are a bit too synthesizery, a bit too obviously electronic. Still decent though.

The eighth seems rather weird, and not in the good way. It felt more like the music at the medal ceremony at the end of Star Wars.

The sixth one, infamously, was done in a weekend under bad conditions when the production team never got around to providing the new composer with the sheet music or original recordings but expected him to keep to deadline anyway. He had to do the whole thing from memory, essentially, so did a pretty good job all things considered.

i like the 10th one (and the middle 8). The middle 8 theme would make an awesome ringtone.

Yes. Listen closely

Listen to the first few seconds of 9, then the first few seconds of 10, and you'll see

Yeah number 10 has a few more layers to it and has a deeper, fuller sound. 9 sounds a bit emptier at the beginning. Man describing music is hard. You know full well what you mean, but finding the words for it.....bluegh!

Does anybody know where I can download a 'clean version' (clean version: no bbc commentator guy talking over it) of the 10th Doctor middle eight closing credits theme tune? Proper download, not having to go online to the BBC site to listen to it.

I meant just the music, without anyone talking over it. It must be somewhere!?!

That's the clearest I could find. It only has "bullets can't stop it" but otherwise is talking-free

Okay, thanks. Hope someone is able to get a hold of a 'clean version' soon though.

I'd pay for a DRM-less MP3 version off the BBC website...

They should do a CD... *sigh*

The one thing I love about the McGann version is that it basically starts with the "Middle Eight"!

Yeah cos reviving dead threads will make the forum collapse and make you be banned and -

Oh no wait, it won't. ;)

I was wondering if anyone knows if the current version is the same as last year's. I can't quite tell. It seems to have less instrumentation - am I imagining it?

Does anyone have a longer version of the Torchwood theme? (longer than the ten second one) I've just discovered it, and am absolutely dying to have any sort of longer version in an mp3 or a wav file for a project. :)
