    Death became them

We loved. We lost. Lost quite a few folks, actually, as the 2005-06 TV season was one of the most fatal in years

    By Jeff Hidek
    Assistant Features Editor

Looking back over the past year of television, one thing comes to mind: death. And lots of it. The 2005-06 season, was, unquestionably, the bloodiest TV season in years. Nadia croaked on Alias. Leo bought the farm on The West Wing. Shannon, Ana Lucia and Libby all perished on Lost. The Shield fans lost Lem, Grey?s Anatomy fans bid farewell to Denny and 24 fans said goodbye to President Palmer, Michelle, Lynn and, saddest of all, Tony. Still, among all that death and despair (did I mention Chef from South Park died, too?), this season offered plenty of good times, too. And I don?t just mean the death of whiny Marissa Cooper on The O.C. Some highlights (and lowlights) of the year in TV:

    Most improved: "Stargate."

This beloved Sci Fi series began showing its age last year. But the introduction of Ben Browder as the new team leader and some snappier writing injected life into the show, which will celebrate its 10th season this summer.
