    our leverage to the asgard

we know the ancients out date the asgard by over 50 million years, so im sure their database has a way to solve the asgard problem. we know that the asgard have a database, and it seems very unorganized. In my opinion its a safety protocol because if their enemy gets their hands on the data base it would take them forever to find what they are looking for. but it is logical that since all the ancients had the ancient gene and could use their mind to opperate their tech, it is completely logical that their mind, consious or subconcious, could have sifted through the data base and found whatever we want. we trade services to the asgard in exchange for improvements on our ships and understanding of ancient tech and theories.
Their white flags are no match to our guns!!

Why does the Atlantean HAVE to have an answer? For all we know the Atlaneans/Alterrans never thought of cloning or never tried it...

Seeing as we are trying to clone all kinds of things i would be VERY amazed if the ancients had never even thought about cloning.

They could have the answer, they might not.

What can we do that they can't? Besides our dumb ideas anyway.

They've had access to the Ancient database for a few thousand years and they have an understanding that far far exceeds ours. What services, could we possibly offer? We don't even have the brainpower to use the database in any practical way.

Sometimes, I wonder if the Asgard had not tampered with their physiology whether they would've evolved further than their current state - possibly, their brain functions could've increased, instead of just accruing knowledge by increments, thereby expanding comprehension. The Asgard's inability to solve their dire predicament could be due to the lack of diverse genetical makeup, which is hindering not just their body but their mind as one Asgard scientist mentioned in one episode.

In 'New Order' Jack managed to sift through the Ancient database while he was in Thor's computer and find the technology to create the Replicator disruptor.
I`m sure the Asgard will have tried this but its possible their minds aren`t wired to navigate the database as ours potentially can be.
If we offer them the services of someone at a familiar evolutionary step to Jack (or maybe even Jack himself), download the database into their mind, then download their mind into the Asgard computer. Use them as a kind of sentient google to find the answer within the database before their body gives in. Then erase the database and revive them.
After a rest, they could go again. This could continue as long as it is not dangerous for the individual.

Chances are the Ancients designed the database so that only the brain of an advanced human could navigate it. This way, even if the great city of Atlantis itself was captured by their enemies, the database would be completely useless to them.

              Daedalus, Odyssey, Korolev = BC-304/DSC-304

              END OF ARGUMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Asgard have been trying to find just such a person for quite a while with no luck, and they've had quite a few planets to pick from. Jack is the closest they've come. The very fact that they haven't kidnapped such a person before, and have condemned the one person who has (Loki), is a good indicator of how they feel about that subject. Besides, I don't see why anyone with a brain advanced enough to know better would volunteer.

If the Asgard are waiting for an advanced human for this purpose, they're going to be waiting a while, unless they kidnap a prior. By the time such a person evolves, they'll probably have figured out a lot more on their own.

wouldnt the asgard be able to put them self into a body of any asgard along its evolutionary track (from the one they were born in being the furthest back) because their mind is the same but body is differeing. being that their braings MAY use the same process our brains use why cant they just down load their concionce to a blank human body? their respitory and cardio stuff isnt in their concionce they are transporting.

Well those Asgard have been around for a long long time and they're very smart. There's a whole lot of stuff going on in their heads and apparently human heads aren't evolved enough to handle it all.

well letting the asgaurd in atlantis translating tech could be the Worst itea yet tbh... the ancient's have al this tech but the asguard are also kinda tech freak's how do you no that there gonna learn about there most powerfull tech IE Drone's ZPM's Sheild's HyperDrive Etc Etc and then not share what they have learnt

"baddest" isn't a word. The word you are looking for is "worst". Use spell check.

The asgard won't share technology that is theirs to begin with. But if they're learning things in the database that we could translate ourselves and eventually learn to make, there's no reason not to share technology. They may have us go through the steps just so we have an understanding of all the theories that lead up to it, but still.. that's for our own good.

well human and ancient seem to be similar, being that they made us in their image. it seems that the ancients are what the asgard are looking for to solve their cloning problem. Im also certain that the ancients must have kept their phisiology in their data base, and probably their genome. so i dont see why they are having much of a problem, they can beam people around easily and synthesize things, why not organic ancient matierial?

Because neither we nor they can seem to find anything particularly useful in the database when it's not stuck in Jack's head.
