Not sure what is available... but my faves are.
In order of Doctor:
1st - Unearthly child
2nd - Ice Warriors
3rd - *this is hard* I will go with The Monster of Peladon because that eye freaked me out and I sill love the Doctor's chant.
4th - Arc in Space
5th - Earth Shock
6th - The Two Doctors *yes I know*
7th - Remembrance of the Daleks *it rocks!*
8th - Well there is only one...
Of course everyone is different and it depends what you like in an episode and what Doctor you really like but I have always loved these episodes.

Also, State of Decay, is a great story. not sure if it's out on dvd though.
The Key to Time boxset is the complete Season 16. It's a six-story quest, consisting of 26 episodes total.Last edited by Deputy-Assistant-Second-Prime; 10 May 2006, 08:07 PM.

An Unearthly Child was just released as part of The Beginning boxset, which also includes The Daleks and The Edge of Destruction...the first three story arcs of the original series.

Doctor Who started off as a low budget children's series, so don't expect the same feel as the new series. In fact, each era has a different feel to it. There's a lot bad costumes and visual FX in the old series, but it's still my favorite show.
Here's my picks from the available individual DVDs...
The Second Doctor
The Tomb of the Cybermen (4 Episodes, Season 5, 1967)
The Seeds of Death (6 Episodes, Season 6, 1969)
The Third Doctor
Spearhead from Space (4 Episodes, Season 7, 1970)
The Green Death (6 Episodes, Season 10, 1973)
The Fourth Doctor
Pyramids of Mars (4 Episodes, Season 13, 1975)
The Robots of Death (4 Episodes, Season 14, 1977)
The Talons of Weng-Chiang (6 Episodes, Season 14, 1977)
Horror of Fang Rock (4 Episodes, Season 15, 1977)
City of Death (4 Episodes, Season 17, 1979)Last edited by Deputy-Assistant-Second-Prime; 10 May 2006, 08:05 PM.

Heh, how many should I list. Honestly I like pretty much all of them and I'm only missing four. W00t! I have no idea what's on DVD yet. Anyway...
City of Death is a good one. I'm also a big fan of Battlefield and Silver Nemisis. Any of the Dalek ones are great, especially Genesis of the Daleks. Tomb of the Cybermen is a good old one and Three Doctors is quite fun too.
I could go on all day, but that's a good start I guess. Have fun!"There's no point in growing up if you can't be childish sometimes." ~Doctor Who, Robot~
