Originally posted by GhostPoetI haven't. But I do have a nifty Doctor Who wallpaper. So when people ask I can tell them about the show. =)
Nowadays, it's all online with websites and online newsletters and such.
Perhaps that's advice in itself. If possible, employ technology.

I have thought about using internet and technology (although, good old fashioned fanzines are a lot more fun!)My favorite Doctor Who websites;

For example, let's say you decide to do the eMagazine...come up with a few ideas for some regular features.
Also, what activities will your fan club engage in?
Nothing too specific. Just your general ideas of what you want to get out of all this.
If you leave it completely open-ended, prepare for a long series of debates on these issues with other members.

Thats the spirit! Youve got a fanclub right there!
Why dont you just do a actual website. I mean look at www.hisdarkmaterials.org
I dont think they are official.
Why not?
You could use www.freewebs.com and then use www.invisionfree.com as a forum, well as for recruiting, just advertise here, word gets around.

Absolutly, a website will be done......
I don't know when was a worse time to be a Doctor Who, today or 25 years ago. AT least 25 years ago there wasn't an internet for fans to connect, we didn't know plots ahead of time, and we couldn't spend hours a day talking about Who with complete strangers daily. It seems that since we can all do that now, one looks forward to seeing Who more often and passes the time watching the calender and clock until the next episode....My favorite Doctor Who websites;
