"Irresistable" could be a huge mistake

Alright, I need to get this off my chest. I don`t know what the blue blazez the writers are thinking.

First off, I`m not the kind of guy to coplain, I`m really not. I`m just happy to see my favorite characters in my favorite show and I`m enjoying every minute of it. Heck, I even liked "Epiphany" and "The Tower".

But this one...the whole premise is just WRONG.

This one has the potential to be the worst episode of SGA of all time and it`s just too early for the show to jump the shark.

Alright, so we have an episode whose working title was DELICIOUS FAT GUY...this should be our first hint that this one won`t be up for the Emmys. The idea, as I understand it is that the guys discover a fat "pheromone-powered" guy who "sends the girls into a tizzy" as Rachel Lutrell describes it.
I`m already imagining a porno flick starring Ron Jeremy by now but it gets worse...thei`re filming it in a "new way" that makes it look like a sitcom.

Here`s one reason why that`s a bad idea: over the whole 20 episodes of season 2 the writers have gone out of their way to make us dislike and disrespect the characters. Well guess what...this ain`t SEINFELD.
It`s a show where we`re suppose to connect with the characters, admire them, want to join them on their adventure.

    But let`s see:

    - Dr. Weir starts to cave under pressure, turning to the aid of drugs. She has Ronon torture an innocent man, she experiments on a Wraith turned human makes all sorts of new friends who take advantage of her naivite most notably the Wraith who then turn against her and get the coordinates to Earth. Nice.

    - Sheppard spends most of his time as head military officer either getting laid with aliens or getting himself and his team captured. Lovely.

    - Teyla basically does nothing except for letting herself be manipulated through mind control.

    - Ronon picks fights.

    - Ford goes insane.

-McKay`s arrogance is greater than ever except he doesn`t have the skill to back it up anymore,he gets his team into trouble, gets his teammembers killed and blows up a galaxy.

All of season two we have seen no reason to like, admire, be fond of, respect or connect with these characters. It`s ok to be flawed but season 2 was an overdose of flaws in our favorite characters. They have been made to look like dumb @#$%!
The writers need to be fixing this, they need to be giving us reasons to respect these people. Having them turned into idiots by a fat guy in an episode filmed like a sitcom DOES NOT HELP.
This episode could be the single most harmful thing that ever happened to the show...it could even destroy it. I pray that I`m wrong.

Brad, I hope you can pull of a miracle...but I doubt it.

    Teal'c: I am loyal to the Tau'ri.
Simmons: Why should I believe you?
Teal'c: If I were still loyal to the Goa'uld, you would know it.
    Simmons: Really?
Teal'c: It would become immediately apparent, as I would not hesitate to kill you where you sit.

It could be a huge mistake but then it also could be possible for the writers to pull it off and it could be a great episode.

Delicious Fat Guy conjures up images of Pizza the Hutt. It puts some very, very disturbing imagery in mind.

Uh yup, I believe so. THE TOWER will look stellar from the soudns of it.

Okay, I've got several months to get THAT image out of my mind, I hope. I really hope, having seen what Jeremy looks like after catching him on one of those infotainment shows.

The reason it's bad is it's just a stupid plot.

Unfortunately, there's no writing credit listed anywhere yet for this episode. Perhaps they're (wisely) hiding. I can't fathom Carl Binder churning out this drecky idea (at least I hope not, unless he got hit in the head or his PC's hard drive was threatend to be run over with an industrial magnet).

While you can push the ethics of the characters by trapping them in nearly inescapable plots (Weir approving torture, either that, or the base could blow up), etc. I CAN'T see this episode pushing along the plot of agenda in regards to exploration or fighting the wraith. If anything, it will just leave the characters (mainly the female ones) sorely embarrassed for acting under the influence.

I think will make the mistake of not taking the magic stuff with him at the end of the episode. He always seems to miss these crucial details.

I think someone is taking this show a little too seriously. I have been watching Stargate for years, not to see who I identified with the most, or to see if they would make me want to join them, but because it is entertaining. And an episode with a fat man loaded with pheromones sounds entertaining to me.

It'll be Hathor... except, without the coolness of the Goa'uld, or any of the original characters that made it work.

                          So it's Hathor "re-imagined" as Fat B******?

We should TOTALLY have Mike Meyers guest star. He would utterly and completely save the show from being a complete mockery of itself.

My sentiments exactly. How about we watch the episode before we b*tch about it?
