The Best T.V. Sci Fi Poll

Okey Dokey, since we've been comparing apples to oranges in some of the "best of" threads, I thought a more specific list of qualities should be rated by our avid readers and writers. Here are the rules. We are trying to identify the science fiction, (not fantasy) television, (not movies) show, individual show, not franchise that is the best in each of the following categories. My hope is to have my mind opened up to stuff I haven't seen. So Trek is not an answer, Trek: TNG is an answer. SG-1 yes, Stargate in general no...... I have tried to include a real variety of categories that appeal to different folks. There are 20. I will put my own opinions down in about a week.

I will compile the results each week, if folks can stomach this much detail:

        Most original for its time:

I'm going with Star Trek the Original Series because it sparked a whole slew of replicas and presented a different look at aliens and space. They don't all want to invade Earth and drink our blood.

Best and most complete story arc:

Star Trek Deep Space Nine. It's not my favorite series but it did play out its arc to the fullest and completed it well.

        Best individual episode stories:

Star Gate: SG1 - Most entertaining and fun
The Outer Limits - Most thought provoking

        Best theatrical style acting:
        Can't say.

        Best natural style acting:

        Stargate: SG1

        Best depiction of space warfare:

        ST: DS9

Best depiction of land based warfare:
        Firefly

        Most outstanding character:
Tough one. Data - Star Trek TNG
        Daniel Jackson - SG1

        Longest running series:
        Stargate SG1

        Best short series:

        Firefly
        Dark Skies

        Most thought provoking:

        The Outer Limits

        Best mindless thrills:
Stargate Atlantis; Sliders; Smallville; Lois & Clarke.... there's a lot of mindless scifi

        Best FX:

        Can't say

        Most oustanding character (list who):

        Daniel Jackson; Data

        Hottest women: SG1

        Hottest men:

        Lost, Alias

        Most scientific (consistent, compelling, likely):
tough one, they're all so bad at this. Star Trek TNG... I guess

Gets the most laughs from you:

        SG1

        Most relational and emotional:

        BSG; Lost

        Most intellectual, avant garde:
the X-Files; BSG; The Outer Limits
