    Russell T Davies' Stargate Joke

I thought it might amuse this particular audience to hear something Who's head writer recently said. The script for Attack of the Graske originally had the monster's name as "the Gra'aske" but RTD sent it back to be changed saying (paraphrasing) "I think Stargate's got a copyright notice on apostophes in alien names"

It's a small joke, but how often does Stargate get mentioned in Doctor Who Magazine?

Well he does make a point what with the Gou'ald the Tok'ra and other aliens. Great joke thanks for the info. (I havnt been able to get hgold of DWM recently since money in the land of Sam is short >.<)

Funny, yeah, but so true and TPTB are at risk of overdosing on apostrophes in my opinion. Cut it out, guys! Or at least ration them.

Good advice. I don't know how many of you are old enough to remember the apostrophe shortage in the 1970s. We simply should not have relied on foreign trade to fulfill our punctation needs. We just need to conserve and we still haven't learned that important lesson.

Is this for real? Heehee, I like his style and his smarts. Too many apostrophes in names are bad, kind of like having an initial in your name...

Ooh he knows about Stargate? There is hope for my evil plan of having DH become Doctor no 11... *oh hush*

Of course Ben Browder could go for a hat-trick and apply!

Well if it takes off in America they may want a US accent!

As long as the person who plays him loves the doctor

Well DH always seems to find a way to mention Dr Who in his interviews...it's kind of cute and a little sad.

                      It suits him:

Wow I remeber that sig. Brings back fond memories of the original Doctor Who threads on the alternate sci-fi and fantasy forum. Gee this fourm sure has changed since then.

DH doesn't have much of an accent though. He would kinda disrupt a lot of things with that. Paul McGillion (Beckett) has a strong enough accent though. That would be interesting....
                              Spoiler:
Before you met me I was a fairy princess
I caught frogs and called them prince
                              And made myself a queen
Before you knew me I traveled 'round the world
I slept in castles and fell in love
Because I was taught to dream

I found mayonnaise bottles and poked holes on top
                              To capture tinkerbell
They were just fireflies to the untrained eye
                              But I could always tell

I believe in fairytales and dreamers dreams like bed sheet sails
And I believe in Peter Pan and miracles
And anything I can to get by
                              And fireflies...
