Ah, Auralan--you are once again the voice of reason! A post I usually reserve for ShipDaddy but since he seems to have abandoned us...

ShipDaddy's fine. I emailed him in worry, and he said he's in big time job searching. He'll be back, but it may take a bit. But ShipDaddy 'will' return!

I agree--it does REEK of studio spin!! The biggest problem is that Amanda will take the fall for it either way! I really feel for her! If she doesn't spout the party line, she's considered "difficult". If she does, she looks like she's knuckling under and it makes her support of women's issues look like fluff (which I don't think it is). I think she's genuinely concerned with those issues so it has to be an EXTREMELY difficult position for her.

I'm feeling a bit bad for her too. I even wrote her last night. I've been upset by her views too, but I felt that article was her way of maybe calming the waters. I might be making more of this than it was, but I really do feel relieved. Hope I can enjoy this relief for at least a few days, instead of the usual few hours. I mean, PS/DDL is almost off the front page of Gateworld, so one more new article to go and I won't have to be reminded of a storyline I don't want to be!<g>

wasn't not settling pretty much the whole point of Grace?!? the whole settling for what she has in life...helllooo...so why are you settling now Sam?!?

That just made me think... how's Sam going to break up with PS? Not so much how, but for what reason? I used to think it would be because she'd realize his selfish ways, but now I don't know. Maybe PS says "Hey, Sam, wanna get married?" Sam suddenly has her life (future life) flash before her eyes, but instead of seeing PS as the mate by her side, she sees Jack. And it knocks her for a loop. She'd turn to PS and say "I can't. I'm living the wrong life. With the wrong man. I'm sorry." Then she runs off to Jack!

ps - I feel it was my Jack drool-worthy pics from 2010 that caused the restrictions. Sorry everyone. The place I got them from... the pics there were a heck of a lot smaller than what showed up, so it surprised me big time when they literally broke the screen! It was prob just the Jack/RDA charisma that made the pics grow to mammoth proportions!

I just don't don't know!!! I WANT to believe that TPTB are just being just plain stupid right now and don't realize that they are YANKIN the chain for a VERY LARGE fan base. But It sounds like we are being heard if AT's interview is anything to go by. So I am confused as to why they would want to alienate all of us RIGHT when they are about to launch a new show???? That makes no sense to me.

I am trying to be an grown-up about this. Telling myself sheesh Tame its just a TV show but when I admitted to myself finally that for the first time I HAD *emotionally invested* and taken a new step into fandom AND I was willing to step out AND let my voice as a fan be heard it no longer WAS JUST A TV SHOW. IT was just a little bit mine too. I have grown *fond* (the true fond Oz not your fond ) and I have invested my money.

I took a TOTALLY new step and found the world of fandom and found all of you folks and found out "Hey I am NOT THE ONLY ONE"

Now I am NOT upset at AT she is the actress playing a character. She isn't the writer or producer or the director. She just wants to work. In order to do that she does like a lot of us do.... DO WHAT THE BOSS TELLS YOU.

Its THE BOSSES I am upset with. I would like to see one of their BUTTS in the HOT SEAT taking the same flak AT is taking for writing that drivel!!!

I would like ONE of them to answer my biggest question....

WHY DID YOU, TPTB EVEN START THE SHIP? THEN WHY ARE YOU SUCH COWARDS THAT YOU CAN'T FOLLOW THROUGH?

TPTB are the problem, Ship Nana....I think to get through to them I think you are gonna have to make some pretty STRONG cookies

You got it! I think the 'intended' effect of PS being a super sweet and concerned bf went out the window the 'moment' he walked out her bed and went straight for the phone. And it went further down hill from then on. Selfish.

All I can say I really hope not!!!!! A big part of me is REALY hoping that the publicist that came up with this *game plan* for the hiatus prior to seaon 8, *The spoilers & leaks* is ALREADY looking for another job and TPTB are just riding out the storm of a bad decision. AT unfortunatley is having to bear the brunt of their bad decision and THAT has me a bit miffed but that is my HOPE!!
My fear..... Sci-Fi wants to keep their highest rated show. RDA wants to go. I in no way shape or form want the show to stop if there are fans out there that want the show without RDA, but no RDA no Sam & Jack...get the picture... I am not callus enough to say no RDA no show because that really isn't fair for the fans who woulfd still watch and love it. but I do know from what I read...It would NOT be Sci-Fi's highest rated show anymore and then by this time next year what.....That is my FEAR

Okay now that I have totally brought you down...sorry about that... I REALLY think and hope and pray that RDA and AT and CJ and MS are NOT just paying us fans lip service when they say WE are the reason there is a show.
And if we really WANT TPTB to KNOW that we LOVE Sam & Jack together we need to keep TELLING them with postcards ands letters.
POSITIVE letters & POSITIVE postcards.... those stick in the minds and hearts. All those GREAT MOMENTS that we all talk about here TELL THEM about it.
As fans that is all we have, we can talk and talk and talk here and hope that TPTB *might* skim this forum or we can let them know how much we have enjoyed this couple over the years. How much we have loved the *moments*

If we can't get them to *eat* the shipper cookies...maybe we can get them to *read* them. They already have half the season almost done and nothing is *in stone* until the film is in the can. We are one of the most POSITIVE BUNCHES I have seen can't we convey this to TPTB as well??

My thoughts exactly! Chimera hasn't aired here yet in Australia so I bought the S7 DVDs from the UK. I was all prepared, telling myself it's OK for Carter to have a temporary boyfriend, I was OK with Martouf and everybody else, but after finally watching the show I was staggered. It really seemed like bad writing, as if in Romeo and Juliet, Juliet had said, "well Romeo is OK but this other guy is OK too so why should I brave death and dishonor to be with my one true love when there are plenty of fish in the sea?". Even my husband was depressed and I didn't even think he was a shipper (more neutral). He said, "They've set up this great underlying love story, something that makes Stargate truly GREAT, and then they have this episode come out of the blue and destroy all that." Even he's not sure if he wants to continue watching!

That got to me. I really feel for you, hon. I can imagine -quite easily because I LIVED it- what it was like for you... it's like being punched in the stomach. And what you said your hubby said. Yeah, even non-shippers felt the sting.

Yes ..it's a real shame that they brought a real boyfriend for Sam so late in the series.They should have done it before ...so that we don't have to see it but we know she has a boyfriend ....then it would have been acceptable ..because her one true love is Jack but she can't have him .We would still have gotten the UST from Sam and Jack because of their impossible love situation . Now all we gonna get is Jack UST cuz he has no girlfriend ....Sam has somebody to go to bed with.. every night and gets some hugs from.

Poor Jack I bet he's gonna get frustrated with work and her sometimes ....specially if she 's still humming the Stargate tune while in his office.


Anyway I hope it 's only a moment in her life to help her go through her crisis..but it looks like she settles now for second best ..I can't really blame her for that but she really should talk to Jack to find out if they may have a future together one day....and if it's worth waiting for !!!!.

The danger with that again ..is to acknowledge their feelings for each other a la" divide and conquer "and still leave them in the room cuz they can't do anything about it unless they quit the Air Force....which won't happen yet cuz the world is at stake ...and they are both valuables Air force officers for fighting the future of the humanity. Sad but true .


OH well....They 'll be together but I wonder if we gonna get at least a kiss in season 8 from Sam and Jack.!!!!!..Hugs...I'm not so sure either cuz she gets plenty at home now

I heard there would be an AU episode...but if the kiss happens AGAIN in an alternate universe ..I find that a bit pathetic ..


...Unless they come up with an extraordinary story for the episode.... something like they all travel to the future on Earth (not AU) and see themselves married to each other , with kids and happy and so much in love , having fun, smiling , laughing , running holding hands...playing with their kids ..one boy , one girl.

I would be very happy with that ..cuz ..when they come back to 2004 Earth , they know there were meant for each other ..then Sam could start thinking really hard about her love life with Jack ...
It would be nice then to have them both sitting together and discuss what they have just seen.

They should feel happy about that There is hope.
