Went to the Collectormania GMEX signing event. My first event of this type and what a great event it was so far. Shanks' and Judge's talk was hilarious. A little girl said she noticed that Daniel never got any medals and so made one for him and approached him with it and got a kiss on the cheek, awwww. Also Shank's friend's barfing accident was hilarious. I don't really want to go into details, it's not very nice though quite hilariously acted out by Judge, lol. Also apparently if either had to do an commercial for an item like Anderson did with Mastercard, I think Shanks said he'd do one for viagra, and Judge would do one for lube... engine lube that is. It's a 2 day event and i'm gonna go see them a gain tommorow :D

Also met Avery Brooks and Brent Spiner. Spiner was hilarious, i think he has hearing issues though :P. Brooks' talk is tommorow, looking forward to that.

ALso met James Callis and Katee Sackoff. Sackhoff was, as Mckay best put it "hot! I mean seriously hot!" WHEN I SAW HER CLEAVAGE I WAS LIKE :o, THANK GOD I DIDN'T STARE AT IT, LOL.

Great event so far...

I went to it as well, it was very very good i thought and really hope it comes back to Manchester again.

Katie and James were both very nice people and very friendly. They seemed like they had a great time. Avery Brooks looked very intimidating and Brent Spiner was nice as well though he looked abit bored, i suppose that would happen though in the beginning as not a lot of people were seeing him till later. Andy Circus was also there and he was very very friendly.

The Stargate talk was also very funny and both Shanks and Judge seem like hilarious guys though i had some trouble hearing Judge. The medal thing was niec and the response by Shanks was really really funny.
Michael Shanks: So Teal'c what did you get?

There was also the whole cap thing that Shanks and Judge had. That was hilarious. I really wish I could go tomorrow now but doesnt look like it.

I definately going back, I septnt £175 on a gold pass and so i really have to go back otherwise i woulda have wasted half the amount an dplus ineed to get my complimentary second goodbag. Also I'm making sure they remember me. I gave all the guest I met giant packs of buterscotch candy. Tommorow I'm giving them jelly babies :D and also giving Katee something really really corny and embarassing, like erm.. i dunno, an early rose for valentines, lol. i'll have to contemplate, but something that'll make me less forgoteten so easily. Again she was HOT!!!!

Also, I swear Judge looks HUGE on TV, when i met him he didn't seem all that big. Shanks seemed bigger imo, lol.

Brooks seemed really giddy when i gave him a pack of candy. When Spiner signed my large pic he gave like a little speech on how the signature would look better on teh frame rather than on teh picture, lol. At first he wrote in black but it widn't show up well, so he had to go over it in silver, but you can still see the old signature below it, hee runed it, lol...nah, it's still good. There was a little laugh about when i approached serkis with Danny John Jules, forgot what i was about though, some camera guy cam ein asked them to to pose with a little sign up.

I believe Teal'c got a higher toned voice lol. Their impersonatios were funny, i loved Shank's impersonation on Browder, lol.

Can't wait till tommorow.

I also went and thought it was amazin. Ive never been to anything like that before or ever met anyone from Stargate, it was really fun.

I agree Chris' and Michaels speech was hilarious, even though I (stupidly) sat at the end of the row so I couldnt hear or see very well, but it was still good. They are both really nice guys and so different from what they are on TV.

I bought one of the framed pieces of the iris and got that signed by MS and CJ. However I so wish I had more money, there was so much stuff i wanted to buy:)

I strongly encourage people to go to them(tomorrow or in the future) if they can

I have never seen Stargate people, but I will in March. :D
I went to a Star Trek convention in Bellevue near Seattle. It was very small, but Avery Brooks and Brent Spiner were there. Spiner was hilarious, it was right before his new show came out so he was all excited about that. Brooks however, I swear hes a philosopher. He was a proffesor in his day and it shows. His deep voice and intonation just makes you listen.

I can't wait too go to my first Stargate convention. :D

You all are speaking of convention in the UK? That would be really cool but its so far away for me. :(

Thanks for sharing your meet & greet, shag. Maybe we'll have our own soon! **fingers crossed**

I just came back from the second day. I forked out the cash to meet everyone again, this time i gave em all jelly babies :P. I joked with Judge about whether he went drinking with Michael on Saturday night. He replied by sayin whatever gave me that impression, was it the vodka smell, lol. Shanks' signing wasn't as good as the previous day though. When i handed him something to sign he immediately started whispering to Judge for like 2 minutes while i'm standing there waiting, lol. And then he turned round signed it quickly and offered it back. It all seemed really rushed. Not that i mind though. The important thing is I met them both.

Spiner was hilarious,

Yup he was, but I think he has hearing issues, lol. He started surprise questioning the same kid by suddenly turning to him and saying "WHAT'S YOUR NAME AND WHERE ARE YOU FROM!!!" very quickly, and the kid just stood there speechless, lol, to which Brent would say "Good answer" :P

You are not the only one, i stand by you 110%, he was very philosophical in his answers, almost spiritual. He sang a song at the end of the talk :D

I also met John Rhys-Davies. I told him I was a local studying Military History and since he's interested in history we got into a little chat about the use of Pikemen in Alexander's army, lol. I had no idea what he was talking about since i study contemporary miltitary history, lol.

But for me, meeting Katee Sackhoff and James Callis was my personal favourite highlight of the show. I gave everyone at the show Werthor's Original butterscotch candy on the first day, and jelly babies on the next. They all seemed happy and thankful with lotsa smiles. But when i gave the jelly babies to Katee her face just lit up like Christmas tree. It was great feeling knowing I put a smile on her face with that little extra gleam in it, i think i'm in love lol. They both showed they're appreciation by writing a personalised message on the photos thanking me for the candy, not some 'To X' and/or with some generic message. None of the other 4 that i gave candy to on both days did that. Not that i mind, but it really cheered me when both Sackhoff and Callis did on their own accord.

Hey, shag, you may not be able to answer me, but did you notice if they were wearing cologne? or did they smell fresh, like soap? and if they smelled like BO, please tell me you don't remember!

Leaning over the table and smelling them was the last thing on my mind, isn't exactly a good first impression, lol.

OK, you don't have to lean in and smell like your checking for a fart or anything. I just thought if you had gotten close enough, you may have noticed. :daniel: :tealc:

These live events sound fun just like music concerts did at one time for me. Then I actually went to one and wished I hadn't. I don't believe I'm a person that likes that big of a crowd let alone how distorted sound gets when it is live on huge speakers. I'd rather listen to a cd.

I just came back from the second day. I forked out the cash to meet everyone again

What did you gold pass actually get you then and what did you have to pay for on top?
Did you not get any free autographs with your pass from the stargate actors and did the stargate goody bags contain anything worth while?

Just wondering if the passes are worth the extra mile. :)

BTW I'm kicking myself for missing this event, seems like there was lots of great names there.

According to the site:

What you get with a "gold pass" at Collectormania G MEX

These passes have great advantages, including free tickets and priority seating at all our talks and special events, and faster access to the guests
Here are the main advantages for gold pass patrons:

entry on each day: from 9am on Sat and 10am on Sunday

Free Talk and other event Tickets
A free ticket for each talk will be available to pre-book up to 2 weeks before the event (even if tickets have already sold out). Priority seating will also be given to Gold Pass Patrons, who will be able to enter the seating area before the main queue.

Autograph Queues
Gold Pass Patrons will have the advantage of being ABLE TO JOIN THE BACK OF ANY QUEUE WITHOUT HAVING A VIRTUAL QUEUING TICKET! This will cut down your overall waiting time incredibly, and allows a great deal more to be done over the weekend.

Goody Bags
Gold Pass Patrons will receive goody bags with great promotional movie items, some of which cannot be bought elsewhere, and autographs from previous guests.

Photo CD
To help you remember your experience at the show, we will send on a photo CD of images taken by the Official Showmasters photographer at the show!

THERE ARE ONLY 50 GOLD PASSES AVAILABLE, and these are being made available to the fans only. They will be available to buy (unless sold out) up to 2 weeks before the show at a cost of £175.00 (that's $305)

-------------------------------------

The first goody bag came with signed photos of Vanessa Angel, Corin Nemec, the guy who plays Aris Boch, SILER! and Rachel Luttrell.

Not really sure if it worth the extra money, since i can't compare the time used up with a non-gold pass holder. But I managed to see all the 8 main guests I wanted to meet within the first 3 hours of the first day. Nothing to do till the first talk i attended. Ended up walking round the stalls like 8 times. I spent £610!!! (approx $1060).

Here's pics of the guets i met, for some reason my eyes aren't always looking straight at the camera even though i'm the one holding it :P
http://photobucket.com/albums/b335/shaqarava/

I forgot to take a pic of Jorge Garcia (Hurley from Lost) and John Rhys-Davies (Maximilian Arturo from Sliders or more known as that fat dwarf guy from LOTR i forgot his name, lol) Guess I'll have to get them at another event.

Some good pics there. :) I've been looking at the future events but so far the lineups don't include Judge or Shanks at any other events, oh well, maybe next year. :(
